Condition: Used Location: Indianapolis, United States This lovely vintage Art Deco Japanese kyodai. Or mirror stand& vanity dating from the early Showa period between1930 and the early 50's boasts ... morean adjustable 3 way mirror that creates multiple reflections, made in a beautiful extra thick quality glass with beveled borders that still has a very clear reflection for its age. The center below the mirror is adorned with a textured glass surface reflecting a pale blue colour. Its Art deco lines, adorned with a lovely stripy grain veneer in a golden shade are accented by silver tone openwork handles. Small drawers offer space for accessories or make-up and it can easily fit on a night stand, chest or work top making it an very useable and versatile piece. It is in excellent overall condition for its age with no major damage. There are some slight bubbles in the veneer in a couple of places. And one small chip has been filled on the middle drawer. The attachment between the mirror and the stand is slightly wobbly on the left hand side, but stable. The back of the central mirror has had some small repairs(fills, nails) and has a couple of chips, but this part is normally hidden from view. DIMENSIONS: The width with the mirrors open is 55.2 cm. They are decorated with a gorgeous hand engraved design of flowers and scroll work. They are heavyweight and feel wonderful in your hand. This is a beautiful set of what I believe is Victorian era powder or dresser jars. There are varied designs cut into the glass. This gives wonderful light reflection. The lids I think are pewter and show their age. One jar has a 1/4 inch chip above the round base. Pictured in photo's#9& 10. It does not detract from the jar due to the location. The bulbous area of the jar conceals this and the various patterns catch the eye. The jars stand about 3 3/4" with the lids. The top opening is 2 1/2" across and the circular base is just over 2 1/4" across. The jars weigh just over 1 pound each. Up for auction is an amazing Sterling Silver Hand Held Vanity Mirror. I don't see any makers marks but looks very similar to Gorham Rose and Buttercup pattern. Marked Sterling and is at least 100 years old. Overall weight is a little over 8 ounces and measures 9 1/2 inches long x 5 1/8 inches wide. This used to belong to my grandmother who died back in 1966 and has sat in my parent's garage in storage. Not seeing the light of day for almost 47 years. This travelling case is made of coromandel wood. Which was and still is rare and expensive and would only have been used on very high quality items. The spectacular coromandel case is outlined with brass stringing. Has a vacant shield shaped cartouche and banner ready for your own engraving. The interior is well fitted with ten silver topped jars, bottles and wells. There are also a mother of pearl mounted penknife, a button hook and two other implements. Offering for sale a Rare Antique RODEN BROS/ Birks STERLING SILVER Vanity Dresser Mirror Brush 5 pc Set This nicely detailed set dates to the engraved date of 1937 when the monogranned T&W( a family member) were married. Beautifully Engraved in a Floral Pattern with a Sterling Silver hallmark on each piece: Sterling 925 R(lion) They were carefully made in Toronto. Ontario Canada by Roden Bros Ltd. Then Birks later acquired this firm in the 1950's. The hand mirror measures approx. 12-1/2" long; the hair brush is 10" long; the other brush is 7" long; the comb is 8" long and clippers are 4.5" long. These are used. But in good condition. There is some light typical wear, as to be expected with a 75 year old dresser set. It is noted that most pieces have usual minor scratches& a few very small dings(nothing ... moreserious) It is also noted the mirror does have some delamination/spotting(very common wear with mirrors of this age) This lovely set would make a nice addition to your valuable collection. This is an absolutely perfect double-sink vanity base if I’ve ever seen one. It has dovetail drawers on each end with a roll front. Which ... morecould be false faced, and two doors, one on each end between acanthus carved columns, perfect for the plumbing to go into. There is also a large center with two very deep drawers and a double door area for storage of your towels and washcloths. It has a breakfront where the center steps back in, and the outside edge where the sinks would go steps out. Bathroom vanities are always hard to find just so, but this one would be perfect. This isn’t just a bathroom vanity, however. It’s also a sideboard. It dates from the 1900s, has acanthus carved posts on all four fronts, which is unbelievable, and they go down into large block feet. It has four paneled doors on the front and four dovetail drawers with big brass mushroom knobs. The center has a flat drawer on top and a curved drawer underneath, with two curved doors. On the outside of each end, it has two roll-front drawers and flat panel doors. The acanthus carved posts are really the highlight. It’s finished in a dark black mahogany color, and you can see where the boys have done all the repairs of the loose veneers. Overall, it shows its age, which is really charming for a piece like this. Antique Czech Beaded Medallion Vanity Set.Antique Chrystal Perfume Bottles Set. This is a gorgeous antique Czech pressed glass vanity perfume set. It was made in the 1910-1930 in Czechoslovakia. There are two tall perfume bottles with a little difference and a lidded powder box. The bottles have the beaded Medallion pattern all around them and one large oval medallion in the middle of the stoppers. The finial stoppers have scalloped beveled rims and small beads around the large medallions. The bottles are about the same size. But the medallions on the finials are not. The bottles have the same medallion pattern all around with small and large beads around them. The lid and the glass powder box has a hexagonal form with beaded medallions all around it. The bottles are 7 1/2" tall and 3: wide in diameter on the bottom. The powder box is ... more4 1/4" in diameter and 4" high. The condition is very good. One of the finials feels a tiny little bit loose inside the bottle. Which happens sometimes because they were handmade. The inside of the lid of the powder box feels a little uneven on one side and could be little tiny chips. Altogether no other problems, no chips or cracks. this is a very rare antique early 1800's hand made and carved wooden dresser/ vanity box made in France by Fonferrier-Gratius*Meubles-Brest. it is a large box for this style box and beautiful ornate detailing throughout. there are art deco like styled stars running around the box and have a great negative space which reveals the red lining. and also has a large"star" on the top. the piece is footed with stunning ball-feet. it is also hand engraved with wonderful floral detailing throughout with deeply cut trim work. the lid opens on the top and opens and closes on brass hinges in the back. the lining is a great red linen. In pretty good shape especially for age, does have some ware. the box has a nice patina from age and in great shape for age. In summation the quality of these lovely jars is superb; the faux tortoiseshell lids still shine with a lustre. Beautiful old celluloid dresser or vanity box from the Victorian age. Box measures 13" at its widest point. By 5" deep and almost 6" tall and features a portrait of a pretty girl with a flower gathering basket. Top portion is hinged. There is a pull out drawer beneath.
