SUPERB ANTIQUE CHINESE 9 PANEL CARVED CAMPHOR WOOD DRAGON ENGRAVED BRASS TRUNK
We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Antique Chinese Camphor wood trunk. This elaborate trunk features 9 panels(3 on the front, 3 on the top, and 3 on the back) of intricately carved and detailed scenes in deep relief. The trunk is adorned with an abundance of brass trim and hardware. The brass is engraved with an elaborate design which features a scaled, fire breathing dragon. The serpent is done in a scrolling pattern which is repeated throughout the face of the brass. The brass is secured with large brass nails/tacks. The trunk is raised on 4 small legs. The inside contains a sliding top tray which moves freely, from side to side, via a larger wooden bottom that rests on wooden strips attached to the upper interior of the trunk. There are two large interior hinges which allow for smooth opening and closing of the trunk lid. A large ... morelock on front fastens the lid in place. There is a large handle on each exterior side. The handles feature a decorative, engraved back plate. Each corner of the trunk is decorated with brass trim that highlights the dragon. THERE ARE TOO MANY DETAILS ON THIS TRUNK TO CAPTURE IN THE 12 PHOTOS! This is a beautiful. Elaborate and large trunk. It is in very good, antique condition. There is some minor evidence of age. The brass engraving has some minor areas of wear to the pattern in a couple of areas. There appears to have been a second lock on the front which is missing. One of the side handles has been reattached with two brass screws and the brass tacks are smaller on the back plate than the other tacks used on the piece. There are a couple of areas of minor splitting of the wood on the face only, which is common. None of these issues are major or distracting from the trunk. Overall, the trunk is in extremely nice condition. IT IS SIMPLY STUNNING! The trunk is large and measures 48" wide. 25" tall and 21.75" deep(front to back) The interior is 15.25" in depth(from top to bottom) The sliding tray is 18.5" x 16.75" x 2.25" The trunk is VERY HEAVY.

You're looking at a really cool antique steamer trunk from the early 1900s by Innovation. This really reminds me of the scene from the Harry Potter movies where Professor Lupin has been fired and is magically packing up his trunk to leave Hogwarts! There are 5 drawers on the left side. The top one is divided into 3 separate compartments. All have intact leather pulls. The right side features a set of wooden hangers that swing out for easy access to all your clothes plus two more small shelves for hanging trousers or locking larger items into the lower portion of the trunk. The outside is nearly indestructible. Being covered in metal. It looks like someone spilled some white paint on it at some point. The hinges are intact, and the main latches are functional, although the secondary ones are damaged. Antique Child's Doll Trunk. Dome top, embossed tin, very small & cute!
Hello, Today I am offering an antique child's dome top trunk. I was told it is circa 1880s. It is a beautiful combination of black and silver. With a lovely star pattern. The inside is covered with antique wallpaper. It comes with the original tray. It is 14 inches long, almost 8 inches wide, and 8 3/4 inches at the tallest point. This trunk is super tiny and can fit into almost any space! Unfortunately. Due to the age of this piece, it does have a few flaws. It has dings, dents, and scratches. There is a small gap on the top between the tin and the wood, it is featured in the 7th photo. Two of the little slat clamps are broken on the end, and one is bent. One of the brackets on the inside isn't level and causes the tray to be a bit tilted. Also, I do not have the key. Buy it now or make me an offer! If you have any questions. The top has gently curving corner on the front and back The Oak slats were softened in a steam cabinet and bent in a mold to fit the curves. Great Condition for its age. The patina on the metal is a beautiful deep brown and in good shape. The Original Victorian print inside is very Unusual as well featuring a well dressed African American Couple. Lovely conversation piece and a nice addition in any house. All the hardware on the trunk is in good shape and the only thing missing is a leather handle. A Ladycomet Refinished Flat Top Steamer Trunk Antique Chest w/2 Locks,Key,& Tray
Beautiful Refinished Large Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Two Working Locks& a Key and Interior Tray This one has surely come a very long way from when we purchased it. This one was completely painted pastel green on the exterior like they used to do in the 1970's with a lot of furniture items. We spent a heck of a lot of time stripping over 99% of the ugly paint off of the exterior. The trunk should date back to around 1900 or so. It is quite unusual in which it has the double locks. This beautiful trunk is made up of pine base wood with oak or ash outer slat boards. We have finished the wood with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood has turned out to be a nice tannish brown color on the base wood and a tannish color to the slat boards. The wood is in pretty good condition although there are some scrapes and nicks ... moreon the wood in various places along with some hairline stress cracks. All of these markings are very common on most all of the trunks that we refinish. When we received this trunk. The lower locks were cut off. So we have installed two vintage Eagle Lock Company locks, both of which will work with the one key provided. The upper receiving part for the locks on this trunk are original indicating that we have replaced the locks with similar ones. Here are the following dimensions: from left to right across the front is 28 1/2 inches, from floor to top is 20 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 17 1/4 inches. The metal parts that make up this trunk are not brass and have been brush painted by hand in black and gold leaf. The side handles were missing and have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps. All of our leather for these trunks is obtained from an Amish man in an Amish community near our home here in Pennsylvania. This beautiful flat top trunk which is a true flat top with no factory arch, did have a leather strap that ran up the front and across the top. It was missing, so we have replaced it with an Amish made leather strap with roller buckle. It

Gorgeous Extra Fancy Refinished Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Double Latch Style Lock. Working Key, Interior Compartment Area, and an Interior Tray Here is a rare find since this trunk is exceptionally loaded with fancy hardware and it comes with the beautiful double latch lock. This beautiful dome top should date back to the late 1800's. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 1/4 inches. From floor to top is approximately 24 1/2 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 18 1/2 inches. This wonderful trunk is made up of pine base wood with ash or oak outer slat boards, and the dome top is made of early ply. We have removed some of the metal from between the slat boards to expose the wood We have finished the wood with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax to preserve it and make it look ... morenice. There are some typical older nicks and dings in various places along with some stress cracks. These distress marks are quite common and typical on just about all of the trunks that we refinish. The base wood has a tannish brown color while the outer slat boards have a more medium or walnut brown color. This trunk maker must have spent who knows how many hours applying all of the fancy metal hardware to this trunk. We counted how many metal hardware parts are on this trunk which include the lock, latches, and wheels. It came up to over 90 pieces. That is just incredible. We have not had a trunk this fancy in quite a long time. We wish we could find fancy trunks like this more often, but they are hard to come by. Some of the fancy metal rosettes that are on the top slat boards have been pressed flat over the years of being shipped on railroads and having other trunks and items stacked on top of them. They are all there, just we wanted to say that some are flat and some are still domed. It's not a big deal, we just thought we should mention it so there won't be any surprises. I picked this up at a Pa. estate sale this past weekend. I couldn't believe the original. Working key was still here. It's a flat top with the slightest raise in the center, so, not completely flat. It's adorned with wood slats. Take notice of the stenciling on the leather trim attached with studs. On the inside you will see the original paper lining. The leather handles are torn off but some pieces were saved and are inside. see pic) Maybe you can patch them up. The top straps are also missing. And part of the buckle is there. This is an exceptionally great looking trunk. The theme. The color and the artwork are wonderful. Trunk measures approximately 30 inches x 14 inches x 12 inches. I am not certain of age or origin on this piece. I would guess(and it would be a guess) 1950s. Item is in used condition. The wood has some wear to it and has some scratches and dings. One corner of the trunk lid has been splintered off a bit in the back. It has a nice'aged' and'rustic' look to it. Very rare piece- you are not likely to find another like it so don't miss out! Carved Chinese 1920's Antique Trunk. Deeply hand carved with traditional garden motifs. This 1920's trunk from China makes a fascinating coffee table or bench. Solid aromatic camphor wood resists moths. Akin to American cedar chests. The original finish has just enough mars for a little antique character. Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain the warm patina. Original brass mounts have nice patina and a few dings as shown. The trunk measures 44" wide, 22" tall and 23" deep. It has all the original brass hardware and Goyardine fabric. The trunk is offered AS FOUND with a few minor issues. Wow! What an amazing old trunk. It is rare to find one in such good condition WITH the tray. The exterior is excellent. The leather and metalwork is great and the wood slats have a beautiful patina. The black finish is likely not original. The interior is also good. Sadly. The drop down door to the storage compartment has been replaced. The trunk is structurally very sound. Antique Travel Trunk with Single Tray and Silk Lining - Early 1900's
Up for bidding is this Antique Travel Trunk with Single Tray. A s ilk lined interior and i t's smaller size are clues to suggest this was possibly a rumble trunk for overnight or weekend usage. A heavy duty b lack c oated canvas covers the case and serves as the hinge for the trunk. Piece is in very good condition showing some age on the leather seams. Stitching and some unglued canvas in spots. Top tray is made of a wooden frame with the striped silk fabric stretched and glued tightly over the frame. Silk is in fair condition with small rips indicating a delicate nature to the fabric. The interior is fully lined and was also glued along the hinge line. Staining is moderate and sort of expected for the age of this piece. Left lid corner is separated from broken stitching. Lock does not seem to work. 1870's Small Antique Chest Trunk Refinished Original Hardware
Beautifully refinished 1870's children's trunk or chest. Great wooden handle with ornate metal edge brackets. Has a latch that closes but doesn't lock. This size and style was very commonly used for children to store their clothing or toys. I wouldn't recommend it for children now. However. Originally. The trunk was covered in paper with the"Western Squares" pattern out the outside. This pattern was intended to resemble a pressed leather design and was all the rage in the 1870's. The inside was covered with faded calico paper. As is common with restoring antique trunks, the paper was too degraded and musty smelling to save. Still maintains most of the original hardware with it's patina including metal hinged latch. Lid hinges, nails, and edge banding around lid. Three nails needed to be replaced during the ... morerestoration process. Fabric strap lid restraint was degraded and replaced with an new 100% hemp strap, similar to the original. Antique Civil War Era Trunk with Deer Skin Covering
For auction is an antique trunk with deer skin cover and remnants of a fringe. zThis trunk dates to the Civil War era and is in excellent condition for its age. Generally. With a trunk of this age, only pieces of the original leather covering remain. This one has 95+% of its original covering. Due to age, some of the sections are cracked and split as can be seen in the pictures, but- as is- it would be a handsome piece to display in your home. It retains its original handles and locking mechanism but I do not have a key. It id also decorated with round head brass tacks on all four sides and the top. Two nails show on the inside top left corner where they missed hitting the top side but this does not affect the integrity of the piece. Also, since the hinges were made of leather, they cracked years ago. The top fits snugly and the interior ... moreis pristine. The top of the trunk is slightly ddomed. It measures 24" wide, 14" deep and 14" tall.

Extremely unusual in that the sides fold down allowing one to access the shirt compartments freely. A trunk of this nature was custom built for a client upon request. This is a wonderful trunk for the collector. Another won’t come along again soon. Size: 19(48.26 cm) wide by 13(33.02 cm) tall by 17-½ inches(44.45 cm) Condition: Some scuffs and cracks to canvas. See images. A few small brads are pushing or have pushed through the canvas. The lock was replaced with a later yale lock which retains a key. Dates back to the mid-20th century. Trunk retains it's original vibrant finish on the cherry wood, which has a beautiful glowing red coloration. This is a one of a kind, hand crafted piece of heirloom folk art furniture. It has been appointed with solid brass hardware. Two d-ring type handles with back plates on either end, as well as a twist barrel hasp latch on the front. Three heavy brass hinges on backside for added stability on the lift top. The till has two cutout handle openings for ease in removal and insertion back into the trunk, and is also constructed of solid cherry wood. Antique Louis Vuitton Monogram Steamer Trunk w/ 2 Drawer Inserts, Wheels, Cover
This fine piece of luxury luggage is in very good vintage condition with wear consistent with it's age and use. It is a wood strapped. Cloth bound, steamer trunk covered in the classic and desirable LV monogram canvas exterior. The trunk's interior label. Stating it's Paris and London origins, is perfectly intact. The adjacent stamped serial or maker's#143620 is easily readable and suggests a best guess date of production to be circa early 1900's. The trunk measures approximately 43" wide, 22" deep, and 23" tall. There is also the family name of"Gemley" imprinted clearly on both ends of the trunk. The cloth interior of the trunk is very clean and in very good condition. It is free of rips. Tears, or splits, and there are no stains or odors. This same description applies to the 2 interior trays ... moreor drawer inserts. The 2 levels of storage compartment trays are fully intact including all woven straps, tie downs, and carrying handles. The trunk's exterior is in good to very good overall condition. All Louis Vuitton factory marked tacks are intact and accounted for. The two metal side carrying handles are still intact. Secure, and strong. The trunk's bottom is in great condition and the wood support bars are intact and not split or broken. The Key to the trunk's lock has been lost to history, like it's original owner's memories of long ago travel. The LV Steamer Trunk's"Character" disclosure description is as follows: The leather closure strap or the strap that went around the whole depth of the trunk is. As is very common with trunks of this era, broken off at the front clasp in both directions. There are three"broken" pieces of this strap included with the trunk) There are also a few marks on the trunk's exterior material that appear to be wear marks or scuff marks and are not to be confused as water damage, mold or mildew. It has 5 drawers on the right, and hanging clothes storage in the right. There are some peach colored stripes painted on the outside of it, and the latches were painted gold. We don't think this is orginal paint. The lock is not working and there is no key included, but the latches still hold the trunk down. There are some scuffs on the side and bottom as shown in the photos, but these only add character to this trunk which has likely has travelled thousands of miles. Up for auction we have a lovely refinished Jenny Lind trunk dating to the late 1860’s. Jenny Lind trunks with brass bands are getting harder and harder to find in good shape. It is not that they are rare; they just are still sitting in barns across New England and haven’t been discovered yet. This style trunk was named after Ms. Jenny Lind. The Swedish singer who toured the U.S. in the early 1850's with P.T. Barnum. Known as the"Swedish Nightingale" she is said to have had a trunk like this one with her and then the trunk makers of the time started making similar styles and shapes. I love the side of the trunk, as many people say, like a slice of bread, or a woman’s shape, with a nice waist and fuller hips. This Antique Wooden Chest or Trunk is nicely detailed. With wooden slats, a dovetailed appearance on the ends, and black accent designs. The outside has a lacquered finish and the interior has a purple silk lining, which remains in good condition! A clever push-button on the front opens the box. As seen in the enlarged photos, there are some rubs to parts of the trim, and three of the tacks are missing, on the bottom. This, of course, is not seen when the piece is displayed.
