The crendenza has short curved legs. There are some small areas of veneer loss on the front of the piece, and these areas can be seen in the photos. The top section is finished with a wonderful marble insert, in brown, cream and grey tonings. The lower section of this glorious cabinet has two drawers with curved drawerfronts finished with egg and dart decoration. The left side door trim is chipped at the tip top of the fleur de lis(see photo) But this was done very long ago, as the wood has a patina from being exposed for so long. 1940's Antique Walnut Exquisite Dining Room Set! This is ornately carved set that has Inlaid Veneers in the China cabinet and Buffet. The beautiful table has twin carved legs at each corner with a Finial in the middle of the underneath frame. The top has a still nicely polished walnut matched woodgrain and has 3 original leaves to extend the table.The leaves are slightly darker than the table top as they have not seen as much light as the rest of the set. There are 6 side chairs and 2 arm chairs. These are also carved to match. The 6 side chairs have been recovered in a very nice off white"floral motif" fabric. There is a roll of matching fabric to complete the 2 arm chairs. This was my parents set and they just used the 6 chairs because of their limited space. The Rare Mae West Arched shaped China Cabinet has the same carved ... morematched legs and middle Finial underneath. It has the Inlaid Veneers next to drawers at the bottom. It also has a very nice wood scrolling on the oval glass. The Buffet has the same legs. Underneath Finial, and inlaid veneers as the China Cabinet. It also has a hidden silverware drawer in the middle Inlaid Veneer section. There are also side openings to store your glasses. This is a very High End Set that is still in very nice shape. The inside of the drawer bears a tag for“G.T. Rackstraw. Worcester, England. Made from fine mahogany wood, this buffet has beautiful color and an attractive look. The company G. T. Rackstraw originated in England around 1749. They specialized in making fine furniture of mahogany. Yew, and oak. Their focus was to make a high end item that would last for many ... morelifetimes. Because of their quality construction they are rarely sold, but instead handed down from generation to generation. We feel this sideboard was made around 1960. The wonderful mahogany has a splendid grain and beautiful color. Satinwood inlays and mahogany cross bands provide subtle. But necessary contrast around the doors, drawers, and top. Further enhancing the beauty of this sideboard are fluted details between the drawers and doors and down the legs. The legs themselves are tapered and end in spade feet. The cabinet doors stay closed with a spring latch and the drawers slide smoothly on wooden runners. The brass ring pulls are in great shape and are the right proportion for this size buffet. The only blemish on this bow front sideboard is a small separation in the top on the right hand side. We have pictured this in the photos. This separation is from shrinkage of the solid mahogany top that occurs when the wood breathes. This is a cosmetic phenomenon and does not affect the integrity of the top. PRE-1930 VICTORIAN Antique Damask Sideboard/Table Runner
This is a gorgeous Victorian antique floral damask sideboard or table runner. It is characterized by use of heavy fabric and flamboyance such as this damask runner with a heavy gold metallic paisley border with gold metallic thread tassels.The color is still excellent. There is no visible wear at all. It has a black polished cotton backing that is also in excellent condition. The runner measures 70 inches long and 17 inches wide. This magnificent piece of Victorian textile is in pristine condition.
