Cute set of canisters. Decorated with colorful roses, used at one time(1930s and 40s) in those Hoosier cabinets that were in every kitchen. These were made pre- WW2 in Germany(marked) and made of lusterware. The luster is a bit worn in places but they look fine and would be perfect for daily use. Clean inside. Labelled Tea- Coffee- Rice- Flour- Oatmeal, in English. Dimensions are: without covers. 6-1/4 in. x 3-3/4 in. The cover adds 2 inches in height. Priced low to sell. Great for flea markets. Very old hanging sugar jar that would have went to a Hoosier. Sellers or etc cabinet. This is a ribbed jar that is very hard to find! It is just the jar and base. Missing the lid and the hanging parts. There are a few sites that you can buy original and reproduction pieces to finish this piece off to hang on your cabinet. Jar is in excellent shape! 1900-1950 ANTIQUE HOOSIER CHERRY CABINET MADE IN AMERICA
Hoosier cabinet- made in Indiana. This cabinet was rescued from my Grandmother's basement in Vermont. Which was originally painted lime green and the bottom of some of the drawers were warped. It was restored with some drawer bottoms replaced and then refinished from its original lime green paint. At the time of restoration. The middle inserts were painted, as you can see by the pictures. The bare wood looks to be either cherry or walnut. The winning buyer will be able to strip and refinish to suite her or his taste. As this is real wood and not particle board. This Hoosier listed up for bid/sale is more of a rare cabinet. As most of these cabinets are in oak. The enamel top is original and slides to close.
