This is the finest Regency table of this type we have had in over 15 years of selling fine antiques. This is an incredible example of fine craftsmanship from the era. Solid mahogany tilt top is wavy from the age which is very typical. There is some minor wear in center of the top that takes away nothing. Fabulous carved acanthus leaf on pedestal terminating in extravagant paw feet in gold gilt paint. You will love this piece. Prince George(Prince of Wales) was Regent from 1811– 1820 but Regency became a convenient name for the first 30 years of the 19th Century. Regency furniture was the neoclassical antique style mixed with empire style and the later Georgian style of furniture. Elaborate and ornate. Antiques from Greece, Rome and Egypt were a source of inspiration for furniture designers, attempts were made to make actual copies of ancient furniture and there was even a vogue to copy some of the stone furniture, producing them in mahogany. The regency style of furniture carried on through the William IVs reign, but introduced a few more curves and some elegant decoration. Antique Regency furniture was plain. Slender and elegant. Brass was used for decoration, rosewood and zebrawood veneers were used for a striking look. Mahogany was still the wood of choice for most furniture makers. French polishing came into vogue around 1810 and allowed for smoother shinier finishes which suited the new elegant pieces. Comes with six matching chairs from the early 20th century with floral needlepoint hand-done by Olive Swedenburg. The deep gleaming finish is in excellent condition on richly figured mahogany. The top and leaves are wide planks of solid mahogany. There are only minor mars at the edges, see photos. When opened. Beautiful banding and rounded edges. Brass medallions at top of legs. Brass feet. Made in France. We bought this beautiful table in 1978 from a French antique dealer on Robertson Blvd in LA. At that time. It was over 100 years old. There is some water damage at the center of the table. But it is lovely and still very sturdy and in good condition. A crafty person could even do a fun new inlay, or even shorten the table by cutting a bit out of the center. This was once probably an expandable table, but if there was ever a center leaf, we never had it.

Fine Antique Folding Card or Dining Table in Solid Maple on Casters - Excellent
Being offered from the longtime owner's heir is this exceptionally fine folding table on a pedestal with casters. This style was used for playing cards or games. As the folded state would enclose a compartment for holding board games and cards. But of course they were also used for dining, especially on special occasions when additional tables were needed, and the compartment would hold tablecloths, napkins and candles. We do not know the exact age it was made. But the owner had it at least back to the 1930s, whether new or used, we do not know. The style and craftsmanship details suggest 1800s. Early 1800s Antique Hepplewhite Curly Maple Dining table W/ 6 chairs
My wife and I bought this set to restore to the fullest. This is an 10 leg table with 6 chairs. Captains chair back is broke. But all is parts are there and can be re-glued. Chair backs and seats could be cleaned and restored, the needlework pattern is amazing. Some of the legs show slight separations at the bottoms on the table due to age. It has 4 leafs that are in very nice condition. Did many hours of research on this set plus the history with the great granddaughter of the owner. The curly maple was hand cut veneer. The upholstery seems to be original because there are no additional holes where I have removed some of the small tacks to fix the back of the captains chair. The hair and the fillers are all there. Some of the veneer from the lower corner edges of the table has fallen off, but the granddaughter had put all of them in a zip ... morelock bag. I haven't seen a set like this ever anywhere on the net. I did see one chair like this that was fully restored that sold on Ebay a few years back for $2200. each. Antique Rockford Dining Room Table/6 Chairs & Buffet
Antique Dining Room table and 6 chairs with buffet. All made my Rockford Furniture Company. I am not a dealer so I do not know the exact age. These belonged to my grandparents and it is time for them to go. The buffet is 20.5 inches deep. 65.5 inches wide and 37.5 inches tall. It is in very good condition(only minor scratches) for its age. The table is shown with one leaf that is 12 inches wide. Without the leaf, the table is 42 x 56 and 30 inches tall. The table leaf has a small chip off the veneer. There is no question the table needs to be refinished. There are 6 chairs. One with arms. They need to be upholstered and they have what I would call a normal amount of wear and tear. The top is nice and smooth and made from quarter-sawn oak. It has some blemishes, but no major scratches or dents. As indicated in the photos, the main table can be pulled apart so that one or two additional leaves can be used, supported by the“fifth leg. The table is quite stable and expands easily, although not terribly smoothly. I have two leaves that I purchased separately from the table. They fit fine, but their finish did not match the table when I purchased them and I have never gotten around to the simple job of refinishing them; in one of the photos, you can see that the two leaves are darker than the rest of the table. An antique 19th century primitive drop leaf table in walnut with turned legs. It measures approximately 28-3/8" tall and 41-5/8" wide. With the leaves folded down. It is about 20.5" long. Each leaf adds about 15.5" so with both leaves open, you will have about a 51" long table. We believe it is American and we do not know the maker. There are plenty of dings and scratches found commonly on antique furniture, and this piece has a particularly distressed, dry old finish. Pegged construction. It looks as though the table may have been lengthened at some point but we're not sure. Very simple and primitive/shabby in appearance. It is a gorgeous table. It was beautiful when we started with it in the original finish but it had the typical surface scratches and marks. We completely stripped. And fitted the leaves, glued it up, belt sanded the top to make it level, hand sanded, stained, applied multiple coats of moisture resistant lacquer and finished it in a dark oak stain finish. It is now all set to go into the home for many years of carefree use. It comes with two 12 inch factory leaves and I believe the table will hold two more if you desire. It will cost $150 per leaf to have them fabricated ... moreif you desire an extra leaf. The table itself is gorgeous with strong tiger sawn accents. It has an unusual foot. Almost like an Art Noveau style. The center leg opens to reveal a center leg for extra sturdiness. This table came out of a large estate where the dining room was so large that they had two matching dining tables! We have sold the other table and this is the remaining table from that dining room. The overall size is 48 inches round and 29 inches tall. When the two 12" leaves are installed. The table becomes 72 inches long.
