This Dining Room Set was giving to me from my Sister-in-law. It was her Great Grand parents, which would date it to the early 1900's. It is a stunning Gothic heavily carved 8 piece solid heavy wood matching dining room set. Table- 31" T x 38" W x 61" L(extends out to 88" Fold out ends. 6 chairs(only one is a captains' chair) China Cabinet-63" T x 18" W x 40" L. Double opening doors- with one shelf. 1 opening door on top- with one cut out shelf. Several chairs have loose cushions. A few chips or breaks, and one foot rest cross bar has some dog chews on it. Table has some wear and a loose bottom beam. Some scuffs and wear, but the to fold out side work great and the table is really very very solid with no wiggle. China cabinet. One bottom door is off the hinges and needs to be rehung, but no other ... moredamage. This has been lovingly used. The drop leaf table was a very prominent form in homes of the higher classes. A wonderful solution to entertaining regularly in the home. This table whole part of a pair originally, only a little part missing on the bottom of one leg. Construction: The top is crafted of five boards butt-jointed with tongue-in-groove joinery assisting in all but one leaf. This probably a later solution to the uneven shrinking of the boards, secured from the underside with butterfly dovetails. The leaves hang over ruled joints, lifting on two swinging gate legs, the frame and knuckle crafted of solid oak double pinned to the square Marlborough leg. The oak rails are affixed with scattered rosehead nails to the poplar frame rails coupled with one original hand filed screw set in wells into the top on both sides, these boards joined to the mahogany front and ... moreback rails with exposed dovetails behind the gate legs. Three dovetailed walnut braces join the frame to the top, these absent several screws, the top likewise secured with three hand filed screws set evenly in wells through the mahogany front and back rails. A single thick walnut brace dovetails into either side of the bottom of the frame, reglued during the 20th Century. This form is less than typical. One that does not appear on the market frequently. Crafted with the clean simplicity we cherish in works of Chester County and the Delaware River Valley, the table is free of embellishment or unnecessary decoration- a well patinated surface shows great character, this emboldened by the strength and masculinity of the block feet. It is a piece you will cherish in your collection for a lifetime. Materials: Oak(outer rails. Gate leg frame) Poplar(sides of interior frame) Walnut(front and back of table frame, all leaves and legs) Measurements: 49 1/2" deep x 43" wide x 28" high; leaves are 17" in depth. English Chippendale Mahogany Ball and Claw Antique Drop Leaf Dining Table c 1780
ENGLISH CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY BALL AND CLAW DROP LEAF DINING TABLE Late 18th Century. Probably c. 1780 Item# 411ECP29P This attractive table was crafted during the last quarter of the 18th century. Probably in England though possibly in Ireland. The incredibly wide solid mahogany planks making up the drop leaves and the top of the table are absolutely gorgeous, each with vibrant swirling grains and retaining a deep ruby color. They swing over ruled joints on period wrought iron hinges. It rests over nicely carved ball and claw feet with rather precise details- a previous owner obviously wished the table to be slightly higher to accommodate chairs, and as such had the balls finished with 1" carved pads from beneath. They were clearly quite careful about preserving the feet, not altering the carvings but rather simply applying these beneath ... morethe table. Two legs swing outward to lift the leaves of the table comfortably, making the table a rather substantial dining room piece that should be able to comfortably seat six to eight guests. This is a particularly useful form for homes where dinner parties and family gatherings are common- it can serve very attractively as a console table in the dining room or a behind a centered sofa in the living room. But when an excess of company comes over it can be brought out as a full dining table. This flexibility is what made the form so prominent during the 18th century, where entertaining large groups in the evenings was very common. Measurements: 28 3/8" H x 22 3/8" D(with leaves down) x 50 5/8" L; 65" total depth when leaves are opened; 22 1/2" H to the underside of the frame Condition Report: Top is probably a period replacement. As hinge out out on underside of one leaf does not match the hinge well of the top. Surface overall is in good condition, though one leaf has some areas of clouding and a circular bloom in the shellac from a hot object placed there. Antique Early American Oak Dining Room Set Table Chairs Buffet Sideboard & Hutch
Being offered for sale. Is an early American oak dining room furniture set. The set is comprised of a dining table. 6 chairs, a sideboard/ buffet, and a hutch. Below is more detailed information as it pertains to each piece: Table: There is a maker's mark on the inside of the table which reads. B. Walter& Co. Inc. U.S. Patent No. 1736533 26229 Wabash, Indiana. I did not find a maker's mark on the sideboard or hutch so I can't say for sure if they came from the same manufacturer. The top of the table just lifts off. Perhaps was secured at some point. Would be simple to re-secure. Just a few nails/ screws. There are 2 hidden leafs on each side of the table. They pull out and raise up, or push down and retract into the table's body. With the leafs retracted into the body the table measures approximately 62" long, 38" ... morewide, and 30 1/2" tall. Each leaf adds another 17" in length to the table. Which means it can be made to extend up to 96" 8 ft in length. Chairs: There are a total of 6 chairs. One of the chairs has significant damage(broken dowel) Which the rest have light- moderate wear. Structurally, 5 out of the 6 of them are fine. The seats definitely need to be replaced/ re-fabricated though. One of the six chairs is a captain's chair. Sideboard: The sideboard measures approximately 66" wide. 36" tall, and 20" from front to back. It has ornate scrolling on it which matches that of the designs on the hutch. There is a light crack on the front right corner(can be seen in the photos) The doors stick a little bit and could be adjusted slightly. Hutch: The hutch measures approximately 62" tall. 38 wide, and 17" from front to back. The original handles are missing for the drawer on the bottom portion so I put a couple of pulls in their place. A turned walnut leg is the center support, and there being nine brass casters total. The round table top measures 47-1/2" diameter, each added leaf 16" wide by 47-1/2" Very good plus condition: walnut boards without chips or cracks(as usual the leaves may show a slight variation in color, a faint warp to a few. Superb Large Antique Style Walnut Refractory Dining or Kitchen Table + Consoles
This is a superb very well made refractory dining table great for a kitchen or dining room. It was made in USA and came from a home in Palm Beach. This was custom made in USA 20 years ago and cost $7,500.00 The top is solid wood no veneer and is in very good condition. To either end they also had extra console table made to make the table larger for entertaining. The ends are a little darker because they were only used for holidays etc. The table is 108 inches long. Without the console at each end, the consoles are 30 inches so all together the table is 168 inches long. The 2 consoles tables can be used as separate table for serving etc. You may have to adjust the height a little it came out of a room with old Spanish tiles which were a little uneven.

This Vintage Dining Set has been in my family about 80 years. It belonged to my grandparents. It comes with 6 chairs. The end chairs are arm chairs. While the remaining 4 chairs are not. I am told this is King George II and is a reproduction. The picture shows the table with a length of 70 1/2" That is without the addition of three leaves at 12" each, for a grand total of approximately 106 1/2" One leaf has an edge, while the other two leaves do not. The width of the table is 42" and the height is 34 1/4" The upholstery on the chairs are hand done with the Bargello method. My mother and I hand made the upholstery in the 70's. Vintage Country Round Pine Dining Table Handmade of Antique Wood
This old pine table(50+ years old) was custom made by a local craftsman from old knotty pine salvaged from old barns in South Carolina. It originally had a waxed finish. And could be fine as is for a more rustic look, or be gently refinished. It was in my parents' breakfast room, and was well cared for, but also used. I have had it in a dry storage area for about 3 or 4 years. It does have some scratches(see photos) and the finish on the base is could benefit from a good refinish. This is reflected in the price.
