The shelves are made with a gentle broad scallop design. And each one has two long indentations in them to set the edge of plates or dishes in so they don't slide off the shelf. Antique hand carved cupboard/shelf with carved dead birds on the door
Antique. Probably ca. 1875-1890 hand carved oak cabinet. With the hand carved dead birds on the cupboard door to the incised decorations, it is crude but inspired. It has a top and bottom shelf with two doors open to a cupboard. The dimensions are 22-1/2" high x 25" wide x 7" deep. There are two holes, innate to the piece, inside the cabinet(the screws are holding the cabinet up on the wall and are not original to the piece) The lock is not working, nor do I have the key. The condition is superb, minor blemishes to the surface. Most likely German but could be American. The panel making up the back of the cupboard are mulitple planks. There is a full length split in one of the planks, however, when mounted on the wall, it does not show the separation. This item weighs about 10 pounds.

This great old cupboard came out of the little coal mining town of Wilkeson in Washington State. Great Grandma had it at least as far back as 1885. She most likely bought it new in Tacoma around that time. The upper shelves are all solid wood with an oil finish. They are each cut from a single piece of wood about a foot wide. The lower shelves. Behind the bottom doors, have gone missing somewhere over the years. Their replacements are cut from 3/4 plywood and have a varnish finish. All of the shelving is removable.This cupboard is made from fir and some cedar. It features fancy brass pulls on each of the center drawers, and a solid brass knob on one of the lower doors. One of the drawers has a handmade divider that separates it into two, approximately equal, halves. It measures 39 inches wide by 15 inches deep by 70 inches tall. ANTIQUE SOLID WALNUT HANGING CABINET CUPBOARD MOLDING GLAZED DOOR 29" HI
Please scroll down under this description for additional views. Antique late Victorian hanging cabinet. 29" high, 13 1/2" wide, 8" deep. This old cabinet was made to be built in. It has simple yet elegant crown molding on the front and along the right side- also a little skirting along the bottom right side so it would have been mounted so that the left side butted up to the wall or another cabinet. It is solid walnut with three walnut shelves that are adjustable, substantial brass turning knob hardware on the glazed door, iron L brackets on the top and bottom for mounting. It does not and never did have a back and is constructed of 1" thick walnut. There are two cracks on one panel of walnut in the door frame. The finish is probably original- very alligatored and dirty with some white paint drips and some areas of"bloom" ... morewhere moisture reacted with the shellac. This wouldn't be a difficult thing to restore, you might be able to save the original finish with some denatured alcohol on steel wool and a lot of muscle. This would be a nice little cupboard for a bathroom corner- maybe to the left of your vanity mirror. Also a nice size for a kitchen corner. Original tongue and groove back. This piece is large and very heavy. 80 inches in height to the crown, 24 1/2 deep with crown measuring 28 inches deep, 36 inches wide with crown measuring 42 1/2 wide. Lots of storage with the shelves. They measure 22 inches deep.the top shelf is 19 1/2 inches high to top of inside cup board, the second and third measure 16 inches high and the bottom can store items 24 inches high. It has some condition issues: missing the back and top, 2 side spindles have been glued, the board under the door has been repaired and there is significant deterioration on the rear vertical boards as seen in the photos. Manufactured in the late 60s. This beautiful 2 piece family heirloom has served us very well over the years. Now its time for another good home. This Hutch as we call it is made of very hard and very nicely finished wood. 2 glass doors on the top with a middle glass as well and 2 shelfs. 3 small drawers and 1 long drawer with 2 cabinet doors at the bottom. We searched and searched and could not find 1 single scratch or ding anywhere. Original purchase price was $695.00 in 1969 Here are the measurements of both pieces. Oscar Wilde A Very Good Quality c.1860s Gothic Revival Oak Hall Cupboard Period: Mid Victorian Provenance: Unknown Date: c.1855-65 Width: 32 inches Depth: 15.5 inches Height: 88.5 inches(all at extremities) all at maximum) The nineteenth century Gothic oak hall cupboard on a plinth base with a ripple moulded arched mirrored door of eleven glazed panels. The arch having applied carved decoration, and further carved niche sides, the brass ring handle to the door opening to reveal two adjustable hanging rails and a series of coat hooks, survives from the early to middle part of Victorian period England. The cupboard is presented in good overall order. Two of the rectangular plates are possibly later replacements ... morewhilst the other nine are certainly original and have sparkling and foxing to the plates. All nicely greyed. Two of the glazing bars are later replacements. This small issue aside she is in a totally original state and the oak has a very good colour and patination. The handle, hooks and rails, and all of the carved decoration is seemingly original. Although the lancet or arched shape of this cupboard is synonymous with gothic design. One often doesn’t see an entire door panel being mirrored and the superiority of the piece is very evident right through from the build quality to the applied carvings. Hall cupboards of this type are usually also doubles so the rather slim proportions of this example make it rather more versatile and elegant. We can’t find another even similar to this example having been sold which may suggest it was privately commissioned. A man who remains any length of time in a modern Gothic room.
