This is an old cabinet latch with keeper. This antique latch is made of chrome plated brass and is 2 1/16 in long including the 5/8 in long keeper. It is 2 1/8 in wide. This well worn antique furniture is solid wormy pine with lots of losses to the wainscoting back. Mars, stains and dings for character, see photos. The finish is very well preserved. And has been waxed and buffed so that all that is needed to maintain its patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Welsh Cupboard Pantry Dish Cabinet Antique 1800s? 1900s? I got this from an antique dealer in Dallas. Texas in 1985. I am not an antique expert or dealer, so I'll do my best to describe this cabinet. Based on research, I think it is English and from the late 1800s to early 1900s— this is just a semi-educated guess. There are two pieces— the lower cabinet and the upper. Open piece to display plates and such. I do not have the keys for the drawers and cabinet doors. Also note that the key opening surrounds on the doors are missing. The drawers do have the surrounds and they appear to be ivory or bone. Dimensions: 68.5" wide. 83.5" tall, 20.5" deep. Both the upper and lower pieces are structurally sound. I covered the back of the upper piece in padding and fabric and also lined the drawers in the lower piece. We’re so pleased to offer this Chippendale style flame mahogany four-door bar/serving station that dates from the 1930s. Fresh off our European container. It’s in its original finish and all we’ve done is wipe it down. Check it out: It has gorgeous flame mahogany paneled doors, carved detail along the bottom and top crests and on the carved cabriole legs, and has 45-degree corners on the base. It comes with its original key. When you open the two doors on the bottom it has a pullout drawer and a lot of storage space. The bottom section measures 30 inches wide, 15 inches deep, and 16 inches high. The top section’s two doors open to reveal a mirrored back and a light, which needs to be replaced because it is European. There is also a glass shelf and a pullout mirrored work tray, on which the silver is really worn on the glass. It has a glass ... moreshelf on the inside, and you can see where it had another glass shelf at one time. The top section measures 29 inches wide, 15 inches deep, and 25 inches high. Rare set of 4 original salmon colored painted legs. I picked these up at a Ne England Barn sale years ago. I have no idea what they originally came off of. I suspect a cupboard for height. Doorway or stair restrictions. They were removed carefully without any damage. I see many early cupboards that may have had legs at one point and many that do are damaged. For those who have that old cupboard with the door so low its basically on the floor, these are for you. Structurally sound and great patina they only try to duplicate these days. Please see pictures for condition. There are remnants of old square or forged nails and are handmade for sure. It has rich dark brown/reddish patina and small(not square) nails. There are two doors up above that hide some cute little shelves, and then there are two open shelves below that and 2 drawers below that. The second shelf doesn't go all the way to the back of the cabinet so things on this shelf can fall in to the back part of the top drawer. The other(top) shelf does go all of the way back. The cabinet is old and the top part leans just a little to the right as you can see in the pictures! You might be able to take it apart and straighten it up if this bothers you but we think this is just part of the charm of this little guy. After all, who's perfect? On the back. ... moreThere are two little hooks from which it was hung. The connection between the top and the bottom of the cabinet is just some old bent nails and toe-nailed nails, so we hung it from the middle just below the joint between the top and the bottom parts. They don't come apart but we didn't want to chance it. The back shows that it was made from old crates. The backs of the drawers are from old crates also. The knobs appear to be original to the piece and are made out of brass on the two little knobs on the doors up above and metal on the two drawers down below. It is a sweet little cabinet with a stronger look than most small apothecaries. Very rustic or Primitive! It measures 33 1/4" High x 12" wide x 6" deep without the knobs. It weighs 13.5 pounds. There are scratch marks. Nicks, edge wear, crackles and patina on this piece throughout! But none of it detracts from the beauty and uniqueness of this cabinet! Great for many uses! This a cute. Antique Hand Made Wooden Fretwork Tramp Art Sideboard Cupboard Commode for Dolls
Presented here for your bidding pleasure is this unusual antique hand made tramp art cupboard or sideboard in a wonderful size to display with your antique bisque head dolls! This miniature furniture measures roughly 13 3/4" tall by 10" wide and 4 3/4" deep. Entirely whimsical in its presentation. Every surface in view is treated to decorative scroll work. The apron and sides have not been spared the whimsy treatment either, as these have fanciful scallops along the edges. Even the back is scalloped along the bottom edge! A true labor of love if ever I saw one! There is a drawer that pulls fully out. Below that are two cupboard doors that swing outward, revealing a storage space with one shelf inside. Examining the back of the piece and the drawer, you can see that the artist used his own method of nails and tenon and mortise ... morejointing, carefully dovetailing all the pieces together in a sturdy fashion. It's really kind of ingenious when you take a close look at it. It some point the piece was gilded, with the gold paint showing up as a dark, burnished color. I don't know if that is original or not. As this is an authentic antique piece of tramp art, the wood is old and somewhat brittle. As such, there is accompanying damage, as described above in the condition report. Please be sure to read it and examine the pictures carefully. The piece looks wonderful displayed all by itself as folk art. But is also a charming foil for display with antique bisque and china head dolls. I show it with both kinds of dolls, the piece serving as their commode. It is a 7 drawer apothecary spice cabinet with it's original wood knobs! The knobs graduate in size from 5/8" to 3/4" for the larger knobs. I love the different size knobs as it makes it more unique! There is some old paint showing through. This cabinet might have been green originally with the brown paint added later. The brown paint is older(not new) There are small round rusty finish nails throughout. There is a piece of wood missing on the bottom front of this cabinet as shown in the photos. You can add a hanger on the back to hang this cabinet or just hang it from the little hole in the scroll top of the cabinet and then the piece of wood missing would not be an ... moreissue. If you're going to set it and not hang it. A little shim under the front will fix it right up! All this just adds character! On the larger single drawer there are a couple of crack lines across the front. The cracks do not go through to the other side. There are lots of nicks, paint showing through, wood pieces missing- sides and front, wood showing through, edge wear, some stains or markings inside the drawers and there's some dings in the wood on the side. It could use a good cleaning inside the drawers. It's a nice larger size measuring 19 1/4 high x 12 3/4" wide x 4.5" deep with the knobs and 3.75" deep with out the knobs. The six smaller drawers measure 2 3/8" deep x 2" high x 2 3/4" wide. The larger single drawer measures 10.5" wide x 2.25" deep 2.25" high. It weighs 5 lbs. There are other small pieces or chips of wood missing inside the rim of the drawers. This not a new or reproduction cabinet it is an antique which means it is not perfect. Stunning Antique French Art Nouveau Gaillard Cupboard, Celebrity-owned
Stunning French. Art Nouveau Eugène Gaillard(1862-1933) cabinet that spent most of its time at a French Brasserie in Paris. Owned by Rod Stewart and then acquired from Sotheby's more than ten years ago. Misplaced original invoice from Sotheby's but should be able to redeem from their records as to authenticity and provenance. One way is to google Eugene Gaillard and you'll see the DNA of this gorgeous piece in his work. Comes with art nouveau key-extremely rare to have survived. Circa 1900s.
