I loved the bureau. However, I needed to relinquish it due to space and it was starting to fall apart. I saved the hardware. I tried to shine it with Copper Cream but it didn't work. The yellow/gold tone has started to peel off on some. These are really neat drawer pulls. Very unique. All the screws are original to the hardware also. This is a Fantastic Primitive Antique Vintage Pine Wood Pie Safe/Jelly-Blanket-Storage Cabinet that was painted Avocado Green and has the distressed look. I purchased this from an Estate Sale where I was able to speak to the original owners grandson. He. At the age of 67 now, told me he remembers this being in his grandparents house for as long as he can remember back. He told me his mother painted the cupboard back in the 1960's for his grandmother the Avocado Green color it is now on the outside and a canary yellow on the inside. It has its original double doors with key turn, however no key with it, and original double pull out bottom drawers. The shelves on the inside have been replaced and are not the originals. There was one and I put that on the bottom shelf because the wood is split. I believe finding some older barn wood for ... morereplacement shelves would be great. I am sure the new owner would have some great replacement ideas. On the back there is one board that is split part way. Please see picture. Also on the back is stamped in black DeWitt-Seitz Co. Duluth, Minn. It measures 80"s tall. 41"s at its widest point which is the top trim. 39& 1/4"s wide in the center across the doors. Drawers are 6"s tall and 17"s long. An antique Walnut Cabinet with Glass Doors on the front. With both shelf and drawer space, circa 1850. We are pleased to present this antique Walnut Cabinet for your consideration. It features four adjustable shelves in the interior(plus one at the bottom that is not adjustable) In addition. There are two drawers at the bottom. The shelves are protected behind two glass doors, which makes this piece ideal for use as a display cabinet or book shelf needing dust protection for the contents. Ornate wood trim is found over the upper portions of both doors. The shelf adjustment system is shown as an inset to our picture#5. A small board fits into slots found at the front and back. The board then provides support for the shelf above. The two large doors have a locking mechanism. But the key appears built in. It does not look like it is original ... moreto the piece. The trim plate on the lock is free to spin around, but in good physical shape(it needs to be secured with a couple of small nails) The two lower pieces of glass show substantial"ripple" Typical of antique glass production. It is much less obvious on the upper two pieces, and we guess that they were replaced more recently. The trim over the upper glass has some splits and shade differences, suggesting repairs or replacements have been made. The drawers at the bottom appear to have their original hardware. Each has a large lock mechanism in the center. But we do not have the matching key. Handles are quite heavy and substantial, with large ornate plates behind the handles. The fronts of the drawers are covered with a beautiful Birds Eye Maple veneer, which shows some small chips around the edges. Dovetail joints are found at the front, with more of a box style joint found at the back(see pictures#8 and#9 for close up detail) The Cabinet measures 78 inches high(68 inches exclusive of the trim piece at the back edge of the top. A lovely form, hand dovetailed drawers and detailed carving on all edges and trim including dentition on three sides around the top. It has small cabinets behind the ornately carved dragon doors in the hutch section as well as display shelves, and has drawers across the top with more open cabinet space below in the base section, which is where you see the traditionally older construction front to back planking across the bottom. The drawers have surface rust on the inside as you can see in the pictures. It is a unique cabinet in that have two large drawers on the bottom and a smaller cabinet on top. It's all connected and one piece! Pretty cool! The bottom section is approximately 14.5" wide x 9" deep(larger) top section is 9.25" wide by 7.25" deep. The top bottom drawer does not open. It was still in use when pulled out. Construction is Wide board Hard pine. Which shows its age well.The top does come off. The sides are made of single Wide boards- the lower front door is also a very wide board with breadboard ends to stop any warping the back is also wide board The house it was in. Had molding around the room and I guess they thought it prudent to put the same molding on the base of this cupboard- it can be taken off quite easy. ANTIQUE C 1840 OAK MAHOGANY HANGING CORNER CUPBOARD CABINET INLAY SHELL DRAWER
A fabulous find is this antique solid quartersawn and straight sawn oak cabinet with handsome designs of inlay on the door and around the drawers. Two of the three doors are false. However, the drawer area encompasses the entire area under the main cabinet and the bottom. The door has a fantastic inlaid shell design. The classic canted corners help display how beautiful the patina is on this old cabinet. The door to the inside is paneled and is chamfered on the inside. There are several shelves. Height to the top = 42" Width across the front = 24 3/4" Depth is 19" in the middle and 20 1/2" on each rear side. Canted corners are 4" each. Area under front of cabinet is 1 3/4" This corner cabinet as always beena corner cabinet and built as such versus being a hanging corner cabinet made from the top of a standing ... morecabinet. It is in very good and ready to hang condition. There have been a repairs on this cabinet.some older than others.the very top left piece of molding has been replaced as well as the molding on the base on the left. The middle knob is not original and the shell has had a few additions due to a very small amount of inlay loss. Quality and time tested craftsmanship helps make this cabinet sweet. This is a rare New England original Apothecary Cabinet. The cabinet features the original finish. And complete with 21 drawers with all having the original pulls. Probably an early spice cabinet at some general store at some point, and was used as a tool or nail holder since. Nice Georgian Cupboard Door. It came from the same house in Greenwich as the front door came from. Yes its mad that they chose to get rid of the doors, but it was their choice and my gain. Its a nice Georgian cupboard door. One side has been stripped the other is as was in a cream white gloss paint, this is a very nice door, its solid wood, its not a repro piece, its not a B&Q door that's two bob, this is a very nice door, and should you want somebody to make you one I'd guess that £120's plus vat would be a cheap price to pay if you could find yourself a good carpenter, but if you need a door like this and are happy to collect in person then you've had a right touch. Antique Pennsylvania Country Federal Corner Cabinet Cupboard Poplar Glass c 1800
Wonderful antique Pennsylvania Country Federal corner cabinet or cupboard. This cabinet is in two pieces with an upper cabinet crowned by a molded cornice and a door with twelve glazed panes. The interior of the upper cabinet has been painted a lovely soft turquoise blue and has four shelves. Each with ridges to allow for upright display of plates, bowls and platters. The lower section of the cabinet features a single drawer with wooden knobs and a diamond-shaped brass key surround. Below that are two paneled wooden doors with brass knobs, enclosing a two-shelf storage area. The apron has been fret carved in a decorative scalloped design. The entire cabinet is made from poplar wood and has a beautiful finish that shows signs of age but is probably not original to the piece. This cupboard likely dates from the early 1800's. Overall this ... morepiece is in good antique condition. However there is a small missing piece of molding near the top. Please examine the pictures provided. Otherwise, the piece has no breaks or repairs, only minimal wear consistent with age and use. The glass looks original and is in excellent condition. Antique/primitive big, cupboard!! Lots of shelves for storage, solid wood!!
This cupboard is pretty primitive but it is solid wood. neat original hardware, I have had my antique dolls in it but it probably belongs in a garage or basement for storage. Use it for whatever, it is large! 7ft. 4in. Tall, 3ft.4in. Wide and 1ft.2in.deep. There are six shelves for lots of storage, and it does hold a lot of stuff. This is NOT being sold as a new cupboard by no means, it is primitive! I do have it in my house and I love it but if you are looking for a beautiful new condition cupboard then this is not for you, it is primitive condition! Solid wood and neat! Pick up only!
