The desk features ... morea gorgeous original finish and period hardware. There are four graduated drawers over flared french feet and shaped skirt. The drawer fronts have book-matched crotch mahogany veneers and cockbeading. The fitted interior(sorry for the dust) has burl walnut veneers, ebonized pulls and boxwood stringing. The interior cupboard door opens to reveal a drawer with a secret drawer behind. See photo) The desk measures 44" high by 39 1/2" wide by 20" deep. In overall very good condition. There is some minor loss to the veneer on the feet which we will restore for you. The desk lid is cupped which makes the desk impossible to lock properly though we do have a key. I don't think we want to try to address this particular issue but please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. There is also some cracking of the veneer on the lid but it is all stable, nothing loose. The desk has great color and patination and is guaranteed to be as described. This is a late Victorian Burr Walnut Table Top Cabinet. Which is enclosed by two arched panel doors, and is set on a plinth base with two internal shelves and a working lock. The lock has been serviced and repaired by a reputable locksmith. And is comprised of a bolt mechanism to the top of the left door with lock and key on the other as shown on the photograph. There is also a spare key. Some minor repairs have been carried out to the veneer on the rear of the cupboard, which has been re-glued and is secure, and a further small patch has been applied to the frame just above where the panel doors close. Absolutely gorgeous solid pine postmaster desk top mail sorter This would have been on a stand/base and been used by a Postmaster/clerk to sort mail in the Horse& Buggy days The gorgeous top nearly 1 inch thick I restored this piece with many. Many coats of a beautiful hand rubbed varnish, it showcases the gorgeous pine grains and many imperfections and character marks such as chipped/rough edges, nicks, screw holes, worn areas etc. They all give it an outstanding naturally aged patina and unique look There are several ink stains which I finished over. I think it adds to the charm of the piece, no doubt they were from the day of ink wells& quill pens This piece had a drop lid desk top attached but I removed it to showcase this piece Incredible hand made craftsmanship. This is a very good antique carved walnut Tuscan cabinet. It was purchased in 2003 in Arezzo. Tuscany, from an antiques dealer. It is in very good shape with a nice patina and beautiful wood color. No significant defects(other than the normal wear that one would expect from an old piece of furniture) except a now-fading white water ring on the surface where some thoughtless person(me! put down a plastic bucket of hot water. A little Old English Scratch Cover or perusal of Mr Google or discussion with a knowledgeable antiques dealer will probably result in advice on how to remove this easily. I just never took the time to do so. DESCRIPTION OF SECTIONS: There are three sections that come apart for easy moving. 1) The upper section has three doors with carved helmeted. Bearded men(Romans? on the two outer doors, each facing in towards the middle ... moredoor where a shield/crest is carved. The outer doors are flanked by carved acanthus leaves. The doors are separated by carved columns with carved capitels. All topped by a heavily carved pediment. Inside is one shelf running the width of the piece. Creating two shelves for storing linens, glassware, clothing, whatever. 2) The middle section is composed of two square columns and a simple back piece. Separated into three, framed sections corresponding in width to the doors above. 3) The lower section has three drawers and three doors. As above. The outer doors are flanked by carved acanthus leaves, but these are topped with carved heads. The three doors are decorated with carved swirling leaves and a shield. Antique 2pc 1850-65 Stepback Cupboard w. Dovetailed Case 7
Here's a great country step back cupboard. An early version with a dovetailed case and spoon notches that displays wonderfully with the doors open. It's missing a few latches but they've been replaced with turn buttons on the bottom. Notice how the top sits specifically in the notches on the base. It has a high pie shelf, dovetailed drawers that operate smoothly, and an old refinish. The style is clearly mid-1800's and likely midwest or eastern US. It was made sometime around 1890 and provides a large amount of lockable storage space beneath a stunning exterior. The wood used is solid oak that has a medium brown color. Hunt cupboards were usually used in the dining room to store plates. Silverware, and other dishes. The term“hunt” was given to these pieces because they ... moreusually depict game, fish, or fowl on their carved doors. While this cupboard does not, it does have carved versions of the cornucopia on the bottom doors. The cornucopia depicts a plentiful harvest and is another common theme on antique hunt cupboards. Among the other impressive hand carvings on this piece is the central carving showing a man and woman conversing by a well. The bottom cabinet has the most storage and includes a removable wooden shelf. Above that are two drawers. One of which is felt lined for silverware. Finally, the top section has three doors all which open into the same large cabinet space which houses two wooden shelves. The top and bottom cabinet doors lock and include two keys. Antique Kitchen Cupboard - Japanese - Meiji Period
About 150 years ago. This cabinet would have been in a Japanese kitchen. It is called a daidokoro-todana- which means- a kitchen cabinet. The"Zucker" drawer has a hairline crack in the back but is intact and the crack will not affect appearance or operation. It is 76 inches tall, 64 inches wide, the bottom is 23 inches deep and the top is 14 1/2 inches deep. The porcelain drawers seem to have been added sometime during it's life but it looks original to the piece. All the normal scratches and wear and tear from having been moved over the years. This is a neat old barn door that could be reused on a cupboard or any project. It is 54" tall by 21 1/2" wide by 1" deep. The paint is flaking off and looks like it would be easy to strip the rest of it off. The hinges are 3 1/4" long by 1 1/2" wide. This doesn't include the part sticking up- just the part attached to the wood. I only have that part- I do not have the part that was attached to the wall. ANTIQUE BUILT IN OAK CABINET CUPBOARD ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE KITCHEN PANTRY
This is for a wonderful oak butlers or kitchen cabinet. It is 2 pieced Bottom and top. It is free standing and enclosed. but was made to be built in. It stands 8' tall and 4' wide and1.5' deep. It has very useful drawers for linens and silver ware and a huge glass door cabinet on top for your china and glass ware. The center area has a beveled mirror back for serving. It is very classical in it look with pillars with carved capitals. One capital is missing a curlyque. and carving on the bottom fronts where the colomns rest. The drawers do not have hardware. But that is easily bought online or from a reproduction company. There is one door without glass,but again easily replaced. This is for pick up only and would make a great addition in a new home being built or in the restoration of an older home.

This pine pewter cupboard measures 76 1/2" tall. 45" wide and 17" deep. The work surface has a 13-1/2" wide board. Each shelf measure 6-1/2" deep. There is a slide catch/ lock and the exterior hinges are original. There are traces of the original paint in crevices and grain. There is original blue milk paint on the back. Very Nice Antique Primitive Lancaster County. Pa Brown Painted Milk Cupboard Great little cupboard in original brown paint. Very clean, interior, 3 shelves. All pine and poplar construction. Nice beaded shelves. Set apart perfectly for crocks, and jars. Solidly built cupboard Estate fresh from a local Ephrata. PA farmhouse. Good small size 36" wide case. 40" wide overall(with cornice) 63 1/2" tall, and 17 1/2" deep. There has been a"Dutchman" added to the door. A make do repair if you will. The hinges must have broke out sometime ago, and somebody cut and added a small pine wood strip to the door to reinforce and reattach the hinges. The back foot on the right hand side, has some rot, and we placed a shim underneath to stabilise the cupboard. You will need this shim to have the cupboard sit level. This is common ... moreon cupboards such as these. Milk cupboards are very hard to find, and were often discarded as it was a very utilitarian piece of furniture in the early 19th century home. Most if the time they were in the basement of houses on dirt floors. The rest of the feet on this cupboard are solid. This little cupboard is in very well preserved condition. Retaining the original painted surface, and knobs, and hardware. The lock is missing. The top door latch is a bent over pipe clamp, again a make-do repair. Hi. This is a beautiful antique cupboard. Solid Oak with raised panel front and sides. This piece has been professionally restored keeping in mind the integrity of the piece. Original tongue and groove back. This piece is large and very very heavy. 80 inches in height to the crown, 24 1/2 deep with crown measuring 28 inches deep, 36 inches wide with crown measuring 42 1/2 wide. Lots of storage with the shelves. They measure 22 inches deep.the top shelf is 19 1/2 inches high to top of inside cup board, the second and third measure 16 inches high and the bottom can store items 24 inches high. I would guess circa late 1890's early 1900's. Under the the working lock and key there may have been a heavy lock installed at one time which left holes that have been filled and finished.
