EARLY AAFA ANTIQUE DOVETAILED MUSTARD PAINT WOOD CABINET CUPBOARD KEY HOLDER WITH ORIGINAL KEY AND DRAWER! Up for sale is this nice dovetailed cabinet. We're not sure what it was used for but there are several metal holders that I believe used to hold keys. It is an old cabinet and has some issues. There use to be a clue felt liner in this cabinet but now only a slight remnant is left. This could probably be taken off with a little sanding or steel wool. Or you could leave it alone and just enjoy the beauty of the cabinet. It has it's original key(rare and hard to find) and it locks the drawer when needed. It is a nice size and measures almost 26" tall x 19 3/4" wide x 5 1/4" deep- nice size for displays! It weighs 11 lbs. The top part of the cabinet where there is glass- is another lock. We could not get the lock to ... morelock- it could just need a patient hand to work on it. Not sure if it is the right key. It's a very nice cabinet because the top has glass for displaying items and there is a drawer for putting things away. There are two small metal hooks on the back of the cabinet(see the pictures) to hang it on the wall. The cabinet has four boards in the back and there is approximately 1/4" gap in between each of them where the boards do not come together completely- as shown in the pictures. You can see this when looking at the front of the cabinet through the glass. Please ask questions if you need more information. The cabinet has a number of nicks. Chips and scrapes on it including edge wear as you can see in the pictures. It could use a good cleaning! Thank you for looking at this item. This antique cabinet was used as a kitchen cabinet to store food. This cabinet has the original wire mesh or screen on the upper portion that would have kept food safe. While allowing air to circulate and keep it fresh. The original painted surface on the cabinet is very vibrant. A combination of combing and sponging was done in what appears to be a mustard over pumpkin. Fabulous patina. This is a large piece my father brought over from Scotland many years ago. It's solid oak. Time worn and weathered, but a beautiful statement piece by a respected furniture maker, Mr. James Simpson. I've included part of his bio from Mackintosh Architecture for University of Glasgow: Cabinet maker and upholsterer. James Simpson(c. 1841–1904) was a Glasgow cabinetmaker and upholsterer. The family firm was established by his father. John Simpson, who first appears in the Post Office directory in 1846 at 102 London Street(though later sources say the firm was founded as early as 1820) To judge from the growth of its premises. ANTIQUE GERMAN PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH PINE CORNER CUPBOARD CABINET
Here is another terrific find from one of my newest consignor's- a delightful family piece inherited from his great-grandmother on the Tulp side of the family originally and his mother most recently. an early to mid-nineteenth century pine corner cabinet from the Pennsylvania Dutch country area of Pennsylvania where his ancestors settled and lived from the early 1800's through the 1930's. This is a solid. Well constructed five board back antique corner cabinet with pegged construction and old nails, and I've included a number of photographs in addition to my detailed description of condition above in an attempt to accurately represent the age, construction, condition, design, quality and overall beauty of this terrific old cabinet. This wonderful corner cabinet stands 73 inches tall and measures 46 inches across at it's ... morewidest point. Outside edge to outside edge.It measured 21 inches deep from the center front straight back into the corner and 27 inches on each side, as in the length along the wall on each side. The interior of the top cabinet measures 39 inches across at it's widest point and has one of two fixed shelves still in place running the width of the cabinet with 15 1/2 inches clearance above the shelf and 16 inches depth back into the corner from the front of that shelf. The space below has a height of 23 inches clearance, also 16 inches deep straight back into the corner and an opening of 28 1/2 inches with the top cupboard door open. Again, as noted by my consignor- he removed the other shelf as the lower of these two spaces is now"perfect" to house a 32 inch flat screen TV as he did. The lower cabinet, also 39 inches across at it's widest point has one fixed shelf 16 inches deep front to back and dividing the 26 1/2 inches in height in two with 12 inches clearance above the shelf and 13 1/2 inches clearance above the base of the cabinet below the shelf. Feet are dovetailed. Hand forged lock on the base and door catch on the top. Hand chamfered on back. Door panels, and drawer bottoms. Drawer slides have been replaced. There are 2 rectangular holes in the top of the base-not sure why they are there but are mostly hidden when top is in place. Some age appropriate minor paint loss. Signed and dated 1984 for the decoration-cupboard is circa 1840. Measures approx 81 1/2" tall x 53" wide x 22" deep. All offers considered. Buyer may pick up locally or pay freight costs.

It looks like this possibly was a cabinet that originally hung from the ceiling It has typical age wear and dings you would expect of a cabinet that was utilitarian. This piece was found on the Eastern Shore of Delaware so it could have been made in that area. The cupboard gas two doors on the top and two more on the bottom which have recessed panels. There is a door with two knobs above the bottom doors. All of the knobs have there original turned wooden pulls. This piece still retains the original finish. This piece is a very nice and cute size. Circa 1960 Yew wood Mirrored interior Etched glass door Includes key Excellent condition, There are several unusual features to this lovely corner cabinet. First. The wood used is yew wood. Yew wood is a native English wood that is not common, but has many of the same features as maple. The second unusual feature is that all of the shelves(two upper and one lower) are adjustable with a pin-and-hole system. Most corner cabinets of this size have fixed shelves, so this is a bonus! This corner ... morecabinet was made in England sometime around the year 1960. From the Gothic arches etched into the glass door to the sturdy bracket feet. No attention to detail was spared on this corner cabinet. Inside the top section the back is mirrored, the shelves are glass, and there is a light fixture inside. This would need to be removed and a light fitting for US circuits installed if you wanted light inside. The lower cabinet contains one wooden shelf. Both cabinet doors lock and one key is included. A moulded cornice crowns the top while the bottom door really shows of the attractive qualities of yew wood. The fact that after over 50 years this yew wood corner cabinet is still in excellent condition is a testament to the quality of skill and care that went into its construction. It has survived with no noticeable wear and would make an excellent addition to any room of your home! A sturdily built back. The lower door really shows off the yew wood nicely! ANTIQUE SPICE CABINET DOLL CUPBOARD SALESMAN SAMPLE MAHOGANY W/INLAY CIRCA 1820
This is an original spice cabinet(or possibly doll dresser) Circa 1820. Finely hand crafted of solid mahogany with graduated drawers and a soft secondary wood for back of cabinet and drawer construction. Decoration is a simple dark inlay outline near the edge of each drawer, and another lighter inlay framing the knobs and center of each drawer. Parallel strips of light inlay are also used on the vertical members flanking the drawers. Dark"spots" accent the line work. All drawer joints are hand cut dovetails. A few mistakes can be seen in the grooves cut for the inlay. So perhaps this was an apprentice's work. Knobs are solid brass and appear to be original. All joints are solid throughout with no"wiggle" The original finish is gone and the base has been replaced at some point. One 7/8" wide board at the top of ... morethe back is also replaced. Antique Vintage Country Rustic Distressed Wood Hutch Cabinet Cupboard Stepback
For your pleasure we are proud to offer a Vintage or Antique Painted Country Hutch or Cabinet. This item was hand crafted in Hewlett. NY circa early 1900's. The item is stamped" Lennox Craftsmen" The maker used square nails and distressed the wood to create this original and unique piece of furniture. This two piece hutch has a finish of blue distressed paint and medium brown knotty pine. I do believe the paint is not original but adds character and charm to the item. There are three shelves on the top section as well as six drawers and two cabinets in the bottom section for storage. The porcelain knobs with painted flowers are included and are vintage but not original to the item. The total dimensions are approximately 53" wide x 79" high x 18" deep. The dimensions of the top section are 51" wide x 42" ... morehigh x 12" deep. The dimensions of the bottom section are 53" wide x 37" high x 18" deep. The hutch is truly impressive in design and style and would make a great addition to any home. Please view all pics as they are a large part of my description. Antique c1820 American Cherry Corner Cupboard Cabinet Federal Sheraton Furniture
This is a very early cherry corner cupboard. It is pre 1840 and retains original hardware. Latch, scroll apron and feet. Has square nails and hand hewn boards in the back of the cupboard. The feet have not been shortened which is unusual. One piece of moulding is missing(top left) The cupboard is one piece but is not too cumbersome too move with two people. A splendid Country French pantry cupboard or display cabinet was hand carved of solid fine grained wormy oak in France in the early 1800's. Fine detailing and graceful curves show masterful provincial artistry. The old finish has glowing antique patina. Waxed and buffed. So all that is needed to maintain its warm luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There are shrinkage separations from age for character. Joints are secured with carved wooden pegs on this historic European furniture. Iron large locks and keys still work and wrought iron lift off hinges are original. ANTIQUE AAFA PRIMITIVE SALESMAN'S SAMPLER/ CHILD'S TOY STEPBACK WOOD CABINET CUPBOARD* Up for sale is this very nice little wood three drawer apothecary salesman's sampler or child's cabinet. It's a little chest of drawers or a vanity and has three drawers down below and a mirror with two shelves on the top part. These were often used to demonstrate the actual items without the salesman having to hall a big one around. In this case. This might be a child's dresser. It's made from old crates which probably dates it to before 1940- I think this is older than the 40's. But we don't know the age of this item. The outside of the cabinet is a rich dark wood color with a nice patina to it. As noted above. The cabinet is made from old crates as you can see in the last picture. What a great piece to add to any collection! ... moreIt measures 25" high x 17" wide x 10.5" deep. The little drawers measure about 2.5" H x 14.5" W x 7.75" D inside. The drawers have little porcelain knobs with old rust flat head screws. The bottom drawer has some writing on it but we can't read what it says. You can see it in the pictures. The mirror has some aging spots on it and there's a few nicks and dings here and there- it is not clear- please see photos. On the back. There are some newer screws that someone added in order to hold the top mirror to the bottom drawers. You can't see these from the front. Also on the back, there's a little paper behind the mirror with some names on it. The names read"Emmie Niehoff" Uirg ma Niehoff" Clara Niehoff" Virginia Niehoff" Roland Niehoff" Some of the names occur twice. There are some nicks. Scrapes, chips, including some edge wear as you can see in the pictures but nothing you wouldn't expect from an item of this age.
