Exquisite Pair of Antique Walnut Throne Chairs
Last listing of these chairs before they go in a local shop on consignment. I have for your consideration a very handsome pair of European handmade walnut throne chairs. I am not sure of their age but they are definitely early 20th century or possibly 19th century pieces and could be Italian manufacture as I've found other Italian made throne chairs with similar design. My wife simply liked them and bought them so we don't know their history. Each chair is solid with no loose joints or damage other than normal age wear. You can see and feel the hand made craftsmanship and each one has slight differences in the carvings and some of the wood has worm holes which was part of the character we liked about them. The finish appears to be original which is a plus for antique furniture and I am not sure if the leather was ever replaced. Two mission chairs. I believe they are oak since most are but they were painted so not 100% sure. I was going to refinish them but do not have time. So a good opportunity. Beautiful Antique Ferguson Brothers depression era mahogany folding chairs
Here we have a gorgeous pair of Ferguson Brothers mahogany folding chairs. Wood has a deep red mahogany finish with hardly any wear. Upholstery is a warm. Mottled chocolate color, secured around the back with brass tacks. Has all original brass hardware and screws. Hidden front folding mechanism is clever and works perfectly. Upholstery has been conditioned and the wood polished. Under the seat there is a F.B.M. Co. Hoboken, NJ stamped into the base, also has 2 little tags on each seat base that say"Gustafson" which i assume was the chair finisher at the factory. These would be a perfect addition to any collection. Ferguson Brothers Manufacturing was one of the largest"Novelty" furniture producers. From 1898-1953 in Hoboken, NJ. The hand carved detail is just stunning. These were purchased from International Imports In Beverly Hills in 1979 at which time they were reupholstered with the flame pattern as shown. Offered for Auction: Set of 6 Mahogany Turned Furniture Stretchers. The turned stretchers/legs/decorative elements were salvaged long before we found them so I am uncertain what type of furniture they came off of. They are in as found condition(I cleaned the heavy dust off of them but have not oiled or re-touched them) and they are still dirty. They have a double vase and modified ring profile which I'm calling Classical. However I cannot put my finger on the exact style. I believe the ends are turned rather than doweled, however I am not an expert and they are at various heights as shown(a few are quite shallow) There is minimal wear and tear and I am uncertain of their age or origin. They are very lightweight. Condition: Good given their age. There are scratches. Nicks, dings and worn spots. They came in on trade as the customers purchased a beautiful set of turn of the century press back chairs. They said they have had them in their home for a while. They were a lighter color so they have been tinted. Sprayed and tightened up. The set consists of two better than average arm chairs and six side chairs. The wood is solid mahogany. The seats are done in a beautiful period style floral fabric with stripes. Let the pictures do the looking, but they are all tight and sturdy. They are fancier than normal with a drape of the shield going around the fancy carved back, which would remind you of a Prince of Wales style chairs. The legs are Hepplewhite, raised panel grooved and have little rosettes in them. The front skirt is serpentine and solid mahogany. The chair legs are carved down on all four legs and go down into a pronounced Hepplewhite block foot bottom. The overall size of the side chairs are 21 inches across the legs, 19 inches deep, 39.5 inches high overall and 19 inches high to the seat. 5 Antique Mahogany or Walnut Barley Twist Legs - Sideboards, Chairs, Projects
Offered for Auction: Set of 5 Mahogany or Walnut Baroque Revival Barley Twist Turned Furniture Legs or Posts. The legs or decorative elements were salvaged long before we found them so I am uncertain what type of furniture they came off of. They are in as found condition(I cleaned the heavy dust off of them but have not oiled or re-touched them) and they are still dirty. Four of the legs have threaded dowels in one end and all have open tapped(crudely threaded) holes in the other end. There is wear and tear and I am uncertain of their age or origin. They are very lightweight. Condition: Fair given their age. There are scratches. Nicks, dings and worn spots with some surface loss. The holes in the ends are misshapen and uneven. The finish is dull and crazed and there is dust in the grooves. The color varies a little from piece to piece. OUTSTANDING 4 ANTIQUE NORTHWIND QUARTERSAWN OAK CHAIRS 2 CAPTAINS CARVED FACES
Offered here these 4 victorian circa 1860-1880s Quartersawn oak chairs with very unusual northwind faces. I never have seen any with open mouths that double as handles. I took some of these pictures with flash and some outside in sunlight but chairs are really really dark and I believe have their original finish as well as their seats. All four chairs are super sturdy and there are a few light scuffs but nothing major. there are a couple of super tight age cracks on the back of one of the chairs that you wouldn't even notice unless you were inches away and looking for them. the captains chairs are 44" tall and 24' wide. The other 2 are 42 1/2" tall and 18" wide. they all have working wooden rollers on front legs that can be removed one wooden roller is gone from one chair but metal fixture for it is still there. Comfortable chairs in excellent condition. The walnut chairs/frames are original but the fabric is certainly much newer. The frames are made of solid walnut stained a warm dark honey color. The frames are very tight and solid-not wobbly at all. The fabric on all of the chairs is in excellent condition: it looks like it was redone recently and barely used.
