Antique tiger oak beveled serpentine mirror carved griffins buffet / sideboard
Here is a fantastic tiger oak buffet/ sideboard with fully carved griffins at the ends of the beveled serpentine mirror. Its ALL original. My grandparents had this when it was new. It has been in my family since day one. Im the last one to have it and its time to let it go. It has been refinished only ONCE. Just re varnished about 30+ ago. Very clean inside and out. No stains, Drawers slide easily! The buffet measures 48 in wide. 24 in deep, and 56 in to top of mirror. 40 in to top of buffet, mirror is almost 17 in tall itself, the serpentine mirror is 3.5 in deep itself and the fully carved griffins are 9.5 in tall and 2.5 in thick. The only things missing are the key to the drawers and some of the metal tab stoppers for the drawers but they can be replaced. The feet are carved lion paws with the wood wheel casters. The back of the mirror ... morehas the number 613 painted on back. Which is probably the model number and the words Doll Class, which may mean the grade of quality of the piece. Its an excellent quality buffet. ALL the tiger oak veneer is present and in excellent condition, This piece needs no work and the mirror is screwed to the buffet with 10 wood screws( it comes off for easy moving) ONLY the bottom linen drawer needed to be re glued& re nailed, the linens were very heavy. The buffet is made from solid hard wood with a wood veneer front, and has a beautiful chevron pattern on the veneer, v ery unique. There are five storage compartments in the piece. Two on each end and three in the middle of the piece, each compartment can be locked and comes with a vintage skeleton key. The buffet is finished on top with a scalloped piece of WHITE marble. Exquisite Antique Marble Top Buffet or Bar
The pictures do not do this piece justice. This is a beautiful buffet. The marble is 2" think. The color of it you do not see much any more. There are a couple small places where the veneer is cracking a little. The bottom piece is solid wood with veneer and brass. Shabby chic modern/vintage Buffet or Cabinet We purchased this Buffet and two other similar pieces(see separate auctions) when we lived in the San Francisco Bay area. The doors are vintage and from India. The rest of the cabinet is of modern construction. The finish is primarily distressed wood with green paint. Terrific one of a kind piece. The vintage panel doors have simple latches to hold them closed. The doors patinated iron pulls. This Buffet measures 39 1/2" inches tall x 79 1/2" inches wide x 16 1/2 inches deep on the exterior. It has one shelf. We used it as a flat screen TV stand and it was fantastic- not too high to watch from the sofa. You could drill a hole in the back to route your stereo components. Vintage Antique Cherry Wood Buffet Server / Sideboard circa 1920's
This unique solid wood sideboard/ buffet was made in Brooklyn. New York in the mid to late 1920’s and owned by my Grandmother, who passed it on to me. This auction is for an antique Regency style sideboard. It is solid Mahogany& Mahogany veneers. The veneer is chipped& scratched. The sideboard itself is very solid. This is a solid wood w/ veneer circa early 1900's buffet server. As you can see from the photos. There is some veneer that needs to be replaced. Otherwise, this is a solid piece of furniture and would make a wonderful addition to your decor. Here is an absolutely fabulous find if you are looking for a gorgeous oak sideboard or perhaps welsh dresser base to serve as an additional counter. Large flat screen TV stand, work surface, server or even hallway table or console piece in any room in your home or business. Arriving with my consignors most recent shipment of antiques from the UK, this gorgeous old sideboard has some nice age and I attempt to use my photographs to show it's quality construction and ample functional storage in a wonderful solid wood cabinet. This piece has two large side drawers and four central drawers, all beautifully dovetailed and two of which are actually divided felt lined drawers. On each side is functional open cabinet space behind decorative wood doors and the piece appears to have it's original old hardware as well. This awesome sideboard ... moremeasures 60 inches by 18 inches front to back and is 36 inches tall. The perfect height for a work surface. The four central drawers are each 16 1/4 inch wide by 12 1/2 inches front to back and are 3 1/2, 5, 6 and 7 inches deep, respectively with the top two drawers being the two felt lined divided buffet drawers. There are also two large drawers, one on each side, measuring 16 1/4 inch wide by 15 inches front to back and 3 1/2 inches deep. Circa 1890 Solid oak Hand carved No key Age separations to top Missing moulding on right side Sturdy Very good overall condition, This is a Victorian period antique carved console made from solid oak wood. It is a gorgeous piece of antique furniture that can be used in a variety of places within the home. This console would be an excellent piece for any area that you need a narrow depth piece. Such as behind a sofa or in a hallway. A common motif among carved oak Victorian furniture is“the hunt” This console is true to that ... moremotif with carved fish and fowl on the doors complimented by carved flora up the sides and drawers. The drawer handles are actually hand carved leaves. A truly unique and beautiful look. Both drawers function smoothly and were created with hand cut dovetailed joints. This is a sign of proper construction and age. The doors have a keyhole and there is a lock on the right door. But no key exists. There is no catch on the left door either. Despite this, both doors still remain shut when they are closed. Inside is one wooden shelf. It is removable but not adjustable. There is some minor wear on this console as you would expect from a Victorian era antique. This consists mainly of minor wear marks around the bottom moulding and feet. The top has sustained some age separations which are purely cosmetic and do not affect the structural integrity of the piece. You will also see on the right side. Near the top, that the moulding is missing from the small rectangle section. We have called this out in the pictures. Antique Table, Side Board/Buffet 6 Chairs Dining Room Set Gorgeous!!
Beautiful antique dining set complete with sideboard/buffet and 6 chairs. Pictures do not show all the detail in this amazing set! Leaves at each end pull out and up to extend the table to 96" long. It measures 62" when they are put away. 38" wide and 30" tall. Sideboard measures 72" by 36" high. We have used it well over the years so it does have some dings and scrapes, but still an amazing set. The chair seats were recovered so are not original. The exposed woodwork is a mix of solid mahogany and thick flame mahogany veneering that is finished to a beautiful. Warm color. All parts are straight and solid and fit together as they should. The doors fit well. Operate smoothly and lock securely. Overall the cabinet is in very good antique condition. Antique Victorian Burl Walnut Marble Top Server c. 1800's Sideboard Buffet
Gorgeous Victorian era marble top server or sideboard. This beautiful piece has been capped with a gray and white marble top with rounded corners. The server show signs of high-quality construction including a paneled back and sides and sturdy dovetail joint drawers. The two drawers have fluted edges surrounding burl walnut inlay. Pressed brass pulls with a sun-like like design and silver-friendly linings. The lower cabinet has two doors, each with a burl walnut panel framed in a molded edge. The ring shaped pulls and brass escutcheons are made from brass. This piece most likely dates from the late 19th century. No maker's marks. The server is in good antique condition with some small holes in the marble top. See pictured example. The locks have been removed. But are being stored in one of the drawers and could probably be easily reinstalled ... moreby the buyer. Otherwise, there is only light wear commensurate with age and use. This is a very nice 1890s vintage small oak sideboard. The finish is so nice I'm guessing it might have been refinished sometime in the past 10 years. It's very pretty and very clean. It has a very unusual pull-out. Felt-covered, desk-style board! I've never seen this feature before on a piece like this. A very handsome, but not huge like so many other buffets. Early 1940's dining room set. Mahogany? Not sure but that would be my guess. Chairs are the shieldback style with a floral design. Table has a protective mat included. 6 chairs.
