We are pleased to offer this exquisite. Early 20th century, buffet/sideboard or grand entry table. This lovely piece features Mahogany veneer with exotic, eye catching, grain pattern. It is in the Chippendale style with French influence. The buffet has a beautiful, double, curved front leg design on each side with carved ball and talon feet. There is a raised, acanthus leaf detail with a light cream, painted finish(original) The back legs are straight. The top of the server features the beautifully grained mahogany and is surrounded with a deeply carved, rope border that is burnished in the crevices for greater interest. The server is quite functional and there is ample storage. There is a single, long top drawer that runs the width of the server. A deeper and narrower drawer is located in the center of the buffet, just under the upper drawer. ... moreThis drawer is divided into 3 compartments. This drawer is flanked with deep storage compartments housed behind doors. All of the drawers are dovetail construction and the interior of the drawers, as well as the door compartments, are finished with mahogany veneer. The hardware(pulls and knobs) are brass. This elegant buffet was manufactured by John C. Raab. This company was in business from 1903 to 1920 and operated out of Grand Rapids. Michigan. The company was known as a"fine" furniture maker and made upper end pieces. The company was purchased in 1920 and later became Luce Furniture. The original manufacturer's sticker is present. The buffet is in extremely nice condition for its age with only minor evidence of age or use. There are very minor scuffs and some very light scratches. But nothing severe or distracting. The painted acanthus details have surface cracks which are very normal for this type of finish in pieces of this age. Antique Japanese Tansu Chest Brass Mounts Pulls Asian Wood Buffet Table Box Lock This is a beautiful patina. Antique? Japanese Tansu Asian chest cabinet with magnificent brass mounts throughout. I don't think a very dense wood is used in making it because it doesn't seem that heavy for its size. It measures 39.5 inches(100.33 cm) long by 19 inches(48.26 cm) tall by 13 inches(33 cm) deep. The fish lock for the cabinet is included but I don't know if I'll be able to find a key for it on shipment. Otherwise unraveled paper clips work fine for a key. All the door and drawer pulls have a nice diamond brass inset in the center as shown in picture# 8, but on all my pictures all the other pulls were flipped in reverse so this nice diamond inset couldn't be seen. Doors have to be positioned in place, because they can be pushed farther in than horizontal. I believe they just need another catch strip at bottom. The bottom drawer is a s ingle full width drawer! There i s a built-in felt lined silverware drawer in the right cabinet! Each set of cabinets are designed to lock! note- locks are in place- there are no keys) The Buffet Table is Approximately 6' 72" in length x 38" Tall(42.5" tall including back splashboard) x 23" Deep The cabinet height from the top of the legs is approximately 22" Over all. This buffet table is in very good condition for it's age, but it does need some minor repairs- please see below for details- The top of the table does show wear from use and age. Most of the wear is sur face wear and a lot of it could probably ... morebe buffed out if so desired. The photo was taken at an angle to capture the detail and over emphasi zes the appearance. Aesthetically. The biggest issue is the small piece of missing trim on the right side of the left half of the drawer. There are two spindles that are not in place across the bottom. Unfortunately. There is only one spindle available, the second spindle is missing and will need to be replaced. Functionally. The drawer is currently difficult to open and close, but I believe this is due to the bottom spindles not being in place and would be easily remedied. There is a small area(about quarter sized) on the left top of the table that was there at the time the table was made and is simply a characteristic fl aw in the wood that was used and simply adds to the unique antique characteristics of the entire piece. These are all relatively easy repairs. But they are repairs that are best left to those with experience in the area of antique repairs. Overall- a very beautiful piece of American history! Elizabethan Solid Wood, Antique, Heavily Carved Buffet / Sideboard / Cabinet
At more than 9.5' wide. 6' tall, and 23" deep this massive decorative Brazilian oak(So I have been told) piece is absolutely amazing to look at. I recently moved from an much larger house and really do not have the room for this any more. This is HEAVILY carved and EXTREMELY detailed. The top section comes off for moving. But the bottom half will require at least 4-6 men to move it. This piece has 7 locking doors. 4 drawers and 9 beautifully carved unique outdoor scenes. There is one shelf running the length of the top and one behind the doors on the bottom. This is all hand-made. It truly must be seen to be fully appreciated. I am not sure of the age. But one professional assessment put it in the Elizabethan period. There are no obvious markings indicating origin or age. Overall the piece is in very very good condition. this is an antique/vintage buffet that was repurposed as a bench when I found it. painted white. With green insides of cabinets. sides of two large drawers are also green to match and with white stripes on sides of drawers. there are cute little pink stripes hidden just inside the doors. all handpainted designs to add a pop of eccentric color to your room at the end of a large bed. Up for auction is this 1920's-30's Petite Antique China Cabinet and Matching Buffet. China Cabinet measures 37 1/2" Long. 15 1/2" Wide and 60 1/2" High. Frame on the door has a scalloped look to it.
