Incredible Antique American Federal Syle Solid Walnut Bed
Incredible American Federal Style bed. Likely 1870's. Very sturdy, not squeaking or wiggling, rails attach to head and foot with very tight fit. Rails are very heavy, super tall, just a super looking piece. You can see from teh back of the headboard, it is hand chamferred. I believe it is solid walnut, but may be oak. accomodates a standard full size mattress. Includes Head, Foot, rails, and slats. Slats are new wood slats. I am located in Birmingham. AL. I travel extensively throughout the Southeast, can probably deliver or meet you somewhere for a reasonable fee. Get to New Orleans, Atlanta, Nashville, Jackson, and the Florida panhandle monthly. Some measuring several inches large, and several small areas where the tulle has come apart and caused a minor hole. This is an exquisite hand crochet antique tablecloth or bed cover. It is 65" by 82" and hand crafted by my Canadian Great Grandma as a wedding gift for her daughter in 1912. It was used occasionally- but not often! Incredible workmanship! it was mostly carefully stored. It has a lovely design with pinwheels and open weave with 1" delicate scalloped edges all around. It is made of very soft. Fine silky,cotton thread. Extremely small, tight stitching- beautiful sheen and quite heavy. It is in very good condition. No breaks or tears. There are just a few nickle size discoloration spots- not dark and with a cold water and woolite bath, would probably come right out. The color is a light beige or mellowed ecru. This piece is very drapey and versitle- bed cover or tablecloth or even a super elegant window covering. Stunning and exquisite ... morecraftsmanship- you won't be disappointed! 1920-1930 Antique Thomasville Four Poster Bed & Nightstand
Collectors Set- Family Heirloom Four Poster Bed& Nightstand has been in one family since the 1930's and may predate that time. Handled gently. The Thomasville Emblem can be found inside nightstand drawer. The model number stamped on the back of each piece is L-553. The wood is in amazing condition and has never been refinished. Some surfaces show scratches on the top and could use smoothing and refinishing but overall the pieces are truly gorgeous. It has a folding headboard with a spring mechanism to help you lift it, though the spring is somewhat weaker than it must have been 90 ... moreyears ago. It also has two massive L-brackets which you would bolt into a wall. Or, to make life simpler, you could just set it up as a non-moving bed. You will need to be a little bit handy to get this to work. I have all the parts. And they all fit together and work, but this is a heavy item that needs to be assembled correctly. I did it by following the picture of the folding mechanism in the pictures below. Documentation of these antique beds is hard to find, so the picture of the mechanism is actually form a different brand bed, but it is quite similar to the bed for sale here and can guide your reconstruction. One metal bar(which adjusts the angle of the folding headboard) is broken, but it is a small and non-essential piece that is easily replaceable. This bed is available for local pickup only. This is a Pair of Antique Beds. All wood, believed carved, And hand painted with florals. As shown. Here's what I know for sure, These were carried from Wyoming to Oregon. Where they are located now. I don't know how they got to Wyoming. Maybe by wagon train( These beds are not damaged. And not dirty. They are just mighty aged. And have not been restored. So, authentic chic'n shabby, as shown. My intention. Was to strip and refinish. But that didn't happen. I kept these beds on hand for extra guests. Each has 2" wide Steel'L' shape brackets to hold a platform. And I just added a 3/4" thick strand board from Home Depot. Cut short for ease to 32" x 72" And these hold a ton. No prob. These beds come apart. 4 pieces each, and are easy to assemble by hand. I do not know that these size beds are called ... moretwin. I believe that they. Are a little longer and a bit narrower. These were made using Thick Wood. The Side Rails are 1.5" thick. And the footboards and headboards are 1.25" thick. Here are the measurements: The Headboard height is 47.75" 48" in height at the Center. The Footboard height is 32" from the ground to the top at the center. The Widths of these beds. The headboards and footboards, is 39" The Width at the center. This is an oversized 81-inch-tall mahogany pineapple poster bed that probably dates from the 1880s. In a most unusual style. Of all the ... morebeds I’ve ever had, I’ve never seen one like this. It has flame mahogany panels on the headboard and footboard, fluted and reeded pillars on the sides, and pineapples carved out of solid mahogany on the tops, but leaf carving in the center block underneath, which is very unusual and very stylish. Then it has a Sheraton poster legs on the base. It’s a bolt-up bed, which means it takes bolts to close up the side rails, and you can disassemble it by taking the bolts out of the headboard and footboard. It was most likely bench made. The rails were all messed up, as they say, and we had to fabricate an identical set of rails to make it all straight and true. The bed is 81 inches tall, which is unbelievable. The outside width is 61.5 inches, the height on the footboard shield is 45 inches tall, and on the headboard is 54 inches tall. The inside dimensions are 58 inches by 76 inches, which will easily accommodate a full-size box spring and mattress, and for an additional $200 we can make it a queen-size bed, measuring 60 x 80. The overall condition of the bed is good for a bed over 100 years old, with only nicks and dings on the posts. Norm the refinisher went over it
