Offered here is a very old. Byzantine era pewter pendant featuring a Byzantine cross set inside a six-pointed star. Approximately 1" 25mm) across. Possibly a basic pilgrim's Holy Land souvenir. To the modern eye this design may suggest some sort of fusion between Judaism and early Christianity. However, the six-pointed star was not adapted as the symbolic Jewish"Star of David" until centuries later and so this is likely just a geometric surround for the Byzantine cross.
