Vintage Antique Chinese Silver Filigree Scrimshaw Flowers Bracelet
Vintage Antique Chinese Silver Filigree Ox Bone Scrimshaw& Painted Flowers Bracelet! You are bidding on a vintage Antique Chinese Silver(tested between.900 and 100% Silver) Filigree bracelet with Scrimshaw carved Ox Bone and hand painted Tiles of Flowers. There are 6 colorful handpainted inset tiles that make up this intricate and very impressive bracelet. Each in a setting of ornate filigree silver. Each Ox Bone Scrimshaw image measures 1/2" long, by 3/8" wide and the bracelet measures 11/16" wide from silver edge to edge. This is a very old Chinese Bracelet dated from the early 1900's. It is in impeccable condition with vibrant colorful flowers on each Ox Bone tile. There are no broken or loose metal work in each setting, in the hing coils that connect the settings, or in the clasp. The clasp closes with a nice snap ... moreand remains closed. The top of the pin when pressed down releases the clasp and opens the bracelet up. The clasp is exquisitely detailed in fine filigree! This bracelet measures 7 1/2" in length from end to end fully open, although one has to remember that the pin inserts into the clasp, so when the bracelet is closed on your wrist, it measures 7" This bracelet has a warm vintage patina to it, and portrays many different flowers and flower combinations. The bracelet could use a light cleaning only by a professional, and there is a little bit of paper on the back of the clasp(seen best in photo 7) that will easily come off with a damp cloth. I do not polish my bracelets, leaving that decision to the buyer. Antique Scrimshaw Bracelet with Filigree. Bracelet has 8 Hand Painted Carved Characters. Each section is approximately 1 1/4 inch high and 1 inch wide. Bracelet has no clasp and is 2 1/4 inch inside diameter. The earrings are screw on type and are 3/4 inch tall and 1/2 inch wide. The ring is adjustable. Pin is similar to the bracelet section. This collection is again from my 93 yr. Mother-in-Law who purchased this in 1947-1949. She was living on Guam and working a clerical position. She has never worn this set and it has been packed away all these years. She said.Sell, I don't think I will be wearing it at the Retirement Home.

There is one issue with the clasp that needs repair-it doesn't latch and would need to be soldered by a jeweler but shouldn't be too expensive to have this done. The bracelet measures aprox. 1" x 7" Slot insert clasp. Safety chain missing. Plaque on back CHINA. Probably 800 silver? Excellent evenly tarnished condition.
