This is a lovely vintage Chinese Cloisonne-on-Brass Hinged Bangle Bracelet. It has a number of desirable features that distinguish it from the typical run-of-the-mill cloisonne bangle: 1) It's wider and more substantial. Measuring a full 1/2" thick, rather than the typical width of 3/8"5/16" This makes the gorgeous cloisonne more visible, without making the bracelet all fat and clunky. It's a"best of both worlds" size- large enough to stand on its own, with the option of stacking it attractively with other bracelets. 2) The cloisonne is especially well done, with subtle shading and color-blending. As a result, the pink-and-white flowers and green leaves have depth and dimension, and the design is not dominated by guide wires. This particular bracelet is a very early example of a custom made Chinese Export bracelet. This bracelet was completely hand crafted by hand anywhere from 1920-1930. I bought this at an estate sale. When I was taking pictures I noticed and chip on the inside of the bracelet. I show it in picture number 6. It is an old beautiful piece of striking colors and the deep cobalt blue. The raised enamel is on metal.which looks like bronze with copper trim and copper hinged closure and hinge. It is all hand done with intensive and careful work. It weighs 21grams. Perfect except for the inner chip.which can be repaired.It is 3"inches in diameter. 9"inches all the way around. The enamel. Beautiful vintage Chinese large deeply carved and heavily gilded cloisonne enamel bangle bracelet. This big bangle measures 1" high X 2 1/2" in diameter inside and 3 1/4" in diameter outside. It weighs a very hefty 86.6 grams. The bangle's sides are elegantly domed. Carving is very prcise and well done. the shiny cloisonne enamel is bright and vibrant. Shadings are expertly done like a fine oil painting. The rich gilding is superb with no wear or discoloration that I could see. Interior enamel is a bright French Blue.
