VTG/Antique CHINESE/ASIAN SILVER & PAINTED BAMBOO/RATTAN BRACELET & EARRINGS
This is a beautiful old Chinese Silver and Painted Bamboo Bangle Bracelet and Earrings. There is a silver band with etched details that wraps around a black painted bamboo bangle. There are dangle earrings to match with screw backs. The bracelet measures 2 1/2" inside diameter and the band is 3/8" wide. The earrings are 1 1/4" I believe that the silver bands are sterling. But I have not tested them. There are a few small spots on one side of the silver band on the bracelet where the aged patina has been scratched off(picture 2) and it looks like sterling underneath. There are also a few small spots where the paint has chipped off, which is not really noticeable when you're wearing it. The bands on the earrings are the same silver content as the band on the bangle. I'm not sure if the screw backs are original to the ... moreearrings, the metal is different than the silver band on the earring. This is a magnificent and very old Chinese Sterling Silver Repousse and Bamboo Double Band Bangle Cuff Bracelet. Two sterling bands with beautiful repousse work of lotus flowers and other decorative geometric and floral inspired details wrap around two bamboo bands with nice aged patinas. With additional sterling details of a Foo Dog or Dragon face on either side. There is even a delicate sterling rope detail between the two bamboo bands in the back. A silver band with Intricate Repousse work with a bamboo/rattan band wrap your wrist in old world Chinese splendor. The inside diameter is 2 1/2" and the bamboo band is 5/16" width. It weighs 19 grams. This piece is unsigned. But I had my jeweler test it and the silver band tests at 65-70% silver. Vintage Chinese Bangle Bracelet Enamel Silver Rattan This is a wonderful vintage Chinese bangle bracelet marked"SILVER" Half of the bracelet is rattan. The other half is repousse silver with 2 stunning shades of blue enamel. The bracelet is slightly out-of-round due to the nature of the rattan with interior diameter of 2 5/8 X 2 1/2" width and thickness are 3/8" each. The enamel is in very good condition with only 1 tiny chip, and tiny areas where the enamel is incomplete from the hand made process. Payment is expected within 3 days of auction.
