SUPERB VINTAGE OR ANTIQUE CHINESE SILVER BRACELET -SIGNED with 5 marks-STERLING?
Loads of photos below- I wanted you to see how very special this stunning early bracelet is! I sold this piece some months ago on ebay(the high bidder was in China) It came back to me stamped as not having been picked up from the post office(I'm assuming that the purchaser didn't want to pay the duty/customs charges) So the buyer's money was refunded and back on ebay it goes- needless to say. I no longer ship to China. It's a superb, highly detailed piece, signed on the interior in areas(a total of 5 hallmarks) Quite hefty for such a thin piece, it weighs 23 grams. As you can see from the photos, there is some bending to the metal, not visible on the outside, one darkened are on the interior and age related wear to the metal. I'm not sure of the silver content- it does look like sterling to me, but I'm hoping one of ... morethe marks on the interior will give some indication to those who can read Chinese. I'm guessing it probably dates to the 1920's or so, but I'd love to hear from you on the topic. Measures 2 1/2" from side to side by 2 1/4" front to back by 3/8" wide. Vintage Antique Chinese Silver Filigree Ox Bone Scrimshaw& Painted Flowers Bracelet! You are bidding on a vintage Antique Chinese Silver(tested between.900 and 100% Silver) Filigree bracelet with Scrimshaw carved Ox Bone and hand painted Tiles of Flowers. There are 6 colorful handpainted inset tiles that make up this intricate and very impressive bracelet. Each in a setting of ornate filigree silver. Each Ox Bone Scrimshaw image measures 1/2" long, by 3/8" wide and the bracelet measures 11/16" wide from silver edge to edge. This is a very old Chinese Bracelet dated from the early 1900's. It is in impeccable condition with vibrant colorful flowers on each Ox Bone tile. There are no broken or loose metal work in each setting, in the hing coils that connect the settings, or in the clasp. The clasp closes with a nice snap ... moreand remains closed. The top of the pin when pressed down releases the clasp and opens the bracelet up. The clasp is exquisitely detailed in fine filigree! This bracelet measures 7 1/2" in length from end to end fully open, although one has to remember that the pin inserts into the clasp, so when the bracelet is closed on your wrist, it measures 7" This bracelet has a warm vintage patina to it, and portrays many different flowers and flower combinations. The bracelet could use a light cleaning only by a professional, and there is a little bit of paper on the back of the clasp(seen best in photo 7) that will easily come off with a damp cloth. I do not polish my bracelets, leaving that decision to the buyer. Antique Chinese export silver coral filigree bracelet, rare, huge, superb!
This is the finest example of an antique silver filigree bracelet that I have seen. I have researched many long hours to find one that can compare. My very best guess is that it is an Asian export that dates around the Nouveau period. The filigree work is without equal and comprised untold hours of painstaking silversmithing. The design of filigree appears to be Asian. It is marked.800 for silver and when acid tested, did turn deep red. The natural corals are in splendid condition as are the freshwater pearls that adorn this bracelet. The largest of the coral measures 15mm X 10mm. The inside circumference, closed, is approximately 7 3/4 inches. I have shown in a photo a tiny 5mm area of filigree of damage which can easily be repaired by a competent jeweler. I have put off having it repaired as it is so small that not one admirer has ever ... morenoticed. The height at the tallest area is just over 3 inches and the height at the clasp is just over 1 1/4 inch. The clasp is tight and the hinges as well. The weight is 75.3 grams. Due to my wrists being freakishly thin, the few times I have worn this, I have worn over my cuff. This bracelet carries a beautiful patina and I would not recommend cleaning this excepting only by a competent jeweler. Vintage Chinese Silver Filigree Jade with Enamel Flower Bracelet and Brooch
This beautiful well made Jade bracelet is being auctioned off. Made in China circa 1950 it has a vermeil finish that does show some age. However still appears a warm golden color. That said, the turquoise and lilac enamel flowers are in mint condition, with no cracking or chipping. Jade stones measure 1/2 inch across and 3/4 inch in length. These doomed marbled jade cabochons are smooth and glossy and test for jade. The bracelet measures slightly less than 7 and 1/4 inch in length. The closure is tongue in box and closes securely and is stamped silver. This bracelet shows no irregularities or signs of repair. The bracelet is of substantial weight. Along with this bracelet comes a matching lovely Jade brooch measuring 1 1/4 inches long and a just a tad short of 1 inch. Jade is somewhat darker in brooch. This is a beautiful old Chinese Silver and Painted Bamboo Bangle Bracelet and Earrings. There is a silver band with etched details that wraps around a black painted bamboo bangle. There are dangle earrings to match with screw backs. The bracelet measures 2 1/2" inside diameter and the band is 3/8" wide. The earrings are 1 1/4" I believe that the silver bands are sterling. But I have not tested them. There are a few small spots on one side of the silver band on the bracelet where the aged patina has been scratched off(picture 2) and it looks like sterling underneath. There are also a few small spots where the paint has chipped off, which is not really noticeable when you're wearing it. The bands on the earrings are the same silver content as the band on the bangle. The bracelet features 4 completely hand carved natural Grade A Jadeite stones. The process of carving this stone was very difficult. Time consuming and skillful. The artist hand carved several Chinese characters on the stones by hand surrounded by grooved outside edges to the stone. Due to this wonderful bracelet being 100+ years old two of the Jadeite stones have slight damage. The second stone from the push clasp side has a chip that has broken away. Most likely from being dropped at some point. The first stone from the push clasp side also has a slight break towards the edge of the stone facing the clasp. Absolutely Stunning VERY Ornate True Antique Late 1800's Victorian Sterling Silver Chinese Export Link Bracelet With a Large Crysoprase Cabochon in the Center! This bracelet was made in China circa 1880 for export to Europe or England. It is made of English silver coins that were melted and pounded. Unlike U.S. coin silver" that is.900 silver. English coins were.925, which is why English pounds of this era were also called"Pounds Sterling. So yes, this is true Sterling Silver. And as explained below, it did test as such. The links are VERY thin, as was typical for silver export jewelry of this era. Chinese silversmiths of this time were some of the best the world has ever seen and this bracelet is ALL handmade! Yes. ALL! Someone must have gone half blind making this! Repousse(pressed from the reverse) pieces are very finely ... moreapplied, with extraordinarily fine twisted silver wire applied in filigree patterns of swirls, leaves, curls, and flourishes on top of them. Filigree is not always open-work. By the way. This is the more solid version. Chrysoprase is often mistaken for jade. It is really a very rare form of quartz that has been coveted since ancient times. The Egyptian Pharoahs. The Greeks, the Romans and the Churches of the Middle Ages all prized it for adornment. It was used by Carl Faberge. It is also believed by some to have mystical qualities to reduce pain, strengthen vision, mend broken hearts, and help meditate. We aren't sure about that part, but this one certainly is a survivor! Good Chrysoprase should be apple green-just like this. The bracelet in which it is set is a wonder! Bangle is comprised of a natural piece of rattan that has been bent to a curve and the other half of the bangle is made of sterling silver with intricate and detailed repousse work. The silver part depicts a dragon and a phoenix bird with the pearl of wisdom in the center. A unique feature that is uncommon to these bangles is that the knots on each side have been carved into flowers. This particular bracelet is a very early example of a custom made Chinese Export bracelet. This bracelet was completely hand crafted by hand anywhere from 1920-1930. The stones included in this VERY RARE bracelet are called Persian Turquoise. Persian turquoise ... moreis known for it's mix in color right in between blue and green on the color spectrum. Teal in color! The stones are just simply gorgeous! Persian turquoise in the Art Deco was a status symbol in jewelry. Very expensive as it had to be imported in and custom cut by a master stone cutter! The stones are in unbelievable shape for being 90+ years old. Beautiful color! The silver work in this bracelet is beyond astounding, it's hard for me to put into words! The bracelet includes tiny little"granulation" work throughout the bracelet. Granulation is the process of creating the tiny little bead work that you see all over the bracelet. This process was beyond difficult and took the utmost talent to do, that being the case you don't see it too much! The artist also hand enameled the bracelet on top of the floral scenes with blue's and purples. The color coordination is beautiful! The only slight problems that aren't even noticeable when worn are as stated. Towards the clasp there are two very tiny silver beads missing from the middle row. Some of the gold vermeil remains. We did not attempt to clean the piece. One link has a rough repair and although it is strong, it is incomplete at the bottom and an area is open(see photo)The safety chain is shiny and may be a replacement. If you look closely, some of the applied filligree type vermeil decoration is missing from a few of the panels. This is the raised flower or just the center ball of the flower. It does not detract from the overall design(see last photo) The bracelet measures approximately 18 cm. around. And 1.3 cm. at the widest. The stones measure approximately 1.2 cm. by 1.0 cm.
