What really Makes this bracelet is the fine wire work and the fantastic colors of the enamel combined with the turquoise cabs. The textural metal work includes applied beading on the sides of the flowers. Which echoes their centers and"woven" filigree, which echoes the twisted"rope" that outlines the flowers, leaves and cabs. To the Chinese. The soothing stone turquoise is considered auspicious in feng shui and in addition to its protective qualities. Is said to promote good fortune in wealth and health. These flowers and leaves are beautifully shaded, in soft, but vibrant, enamel colors in multiple hues of blue and purple. The way they are applied to the domed filigree adds to the dimensionality of the bracelet and they almost seem to be climbing the plaques and embracing the stones. The purple and blue colors of the enamel harmonize well with each other and with the turquoise stones. The bracelet has 5 intricate filigree panels with a orange coral stone in the center of each panel. Each panel measures approx. 1 1/4" x 7/8" The total length of the bracelet is approx. 7 1/2" including the clasp. The bracelet is marked"Silver" then what looks like the word"China" although the N and C are backwards. There is another emblem which I can't make out. The total weight of the bracelet is approx. 34.2 grams. This bracelet came from an Estate. I did not try to clean it in any way. It does have some areas of discoloration to the silver and will require cleaning or polishing. Some panels do not lay perfectly flat. The 3 in the middle have a slight curve to them. This bracelet has a stunning pierced design of flowers. Vines and flowers. The hinge and closure are chased silver. I have not tested the silver content of the silver. The silver section is marked with a block CHINA signature. The hinge is missing a small rivet which makes the hinge just slightly loose on one side. The bracelet measures just over 1 3/4" wide. Antique Chinese export silver coral filigree bracelet, rare, huge, superb!
This is the finest example of an antique silver filigree bracelet that I have seen. I have researched many long hours to find one that can compare. My very best guess is that it is an Asian export that dates around the Nouveau period. The filigree work is without equal and comprised untold hours of painstaking silversmithing. The design of filigree appears to be Asian. It is marked.800 for silver and when acid tested, did turn deep red. The natural corals are in splendid condition as are the freshwater pearls that adorn this bracelet. The largest of the coral measures 15mm X 10mm. The inside circumference, closed, is approximately 7 3/4 inches. I have shown in a photo a tiny 5mm area of filigree of damage which can easily be repaired by a competent jeweler. I have put off having it repaired as it is so small that not one admirer has ever ... morenoticed. The height at the tallest area is just over 3 inches and the height at the clasp is just over 1 1/4 inch. The clasp is tight and the hinges as well. The weight is 75.3 grams. Due to my wrists being freakishly thin, the few times I have worn this, I have worn over my cuff. This bracelet carries a beautiful patina and I would not recommend cleaning this excepting only by a competent jeweler. This bracelet was made in China circa 1880 for export to Europe or England. It is made of English silver coins that were melted and pounded. Unlike U.S. coin silver" that is.900 silver. English coins were.925, which is why English pounds of this era were also called"Pounds Sterling. So yes, this is true Sterling Silver. And as explained below, it did test as such. The links are VERY thin, as was typical for silver export jewelry of this era. Chinese silversmiths of this time were some of the best the world has ever seen and this bracelet is ALL handmade! Yes. ALL! Someone must have gone half blind making this! Repousse(pressed from the reverse) pieces are very finely ... moreapplied, with extraordinarily fine twisted silver wire applied in filigree patterns of swirls, leaves, curls, and flourishes on top of them. Filigree is not always open-work. By the way. This is the more solid version. Chrysoprase is often mistaken for jade. Chinese Export Silver Gold Gilt Enamel Adventurine bracelet
Lovely Chinese Export Silver gold gilt enamel bracelet that has all enamel intact as well as the gold gilt. The stones are most likely adventurine. And are genuine stones, not glass, being tested on a gem tester. The gem tester is showing jadeite but I am NOT selling this as it is coming up on the tester because the stones look more like adventurine. The tester does show that these stone are not glass, or they would come up in that range. Anyone familiar with the Presidium will know this. The bracelet is 1/2 inch wide with 1 1/4 inch sections east to west. Clasp in working order. For sale is a 7" long 5-link sterling silver and jade filigree bracelet. I am not an expert on this type of filigree. But a similar piece was listed as Chinese, Made for Export. The only markings on this bracelet is"silver" stamped on the latch. Extremely ornate and detailed filigree work, with each link meauring 1 3/4" x 7/8" and about 1/2" to the tops of the jade cobochons. Please use the pictures and your own knowledge to decide. Note the style of latch on the security chain. The acid test seems to me to indicate sterling silver. Bracelet and jade in excellent condition. At 45.3 grams, a magnificent piece.

This is an outstanding carved jadeite enamel bracelet that is in near mint condition. I have changed from mint in this decription to avoid any problems with buyers who may feel in their interpretation that this is not in perfect condition as these are very old bracelets. The bracelet is hallmarked silver on the clasp. Coy fish enamel work embellish this heirloom piece. The jade disks have absolutely no chips or flaws. The enamel is bright with no major fade. These bracelets are rare to find as a single. But to find a matching pair is very rare. Offered is an early Chinese export pair of silver Buddha bracelets, cuffs, or armbands. They are hallmarked China Silver and test to be coin silver or higher. They are a fine example of various silversmithing techniques includng repousse and engraving. Each bracelet displays scenes in three panels with decoration surrounding them. The maximum height is 4 1/8 inches. The cuff interior around the wrist tip to tip measures approximately 7 inches.
