On the sides are the leaf scars, or knots in the bamboo. They are more constricted(or smaller in diameter) than the rest of the piece of bamboo which is approximately 3/8" Diameter. I don't know anything about these bracelets but I've seen them listed. Some of them have carvings where the leaf scars are but this one doesn't. I no longer ship to China. It's a superb, highly detailed piece, signed on the interior in areas(a total of 5 hallmarks) Quite hefty for such a thin piece, it weighs 23 grams. As you can see from the photos, there is some bending to the metal, not visible on the outside, one darkened are on the interior and age related wear to the metal. I'm not sure of the silver content- it does look like sterling to me, but I'm hoping one of the marks on the interior will give some indication to those who can read Chinese. I'm guessing it probably dates to the 1920's or so, but I'd love to hear from you on the topic. Measures 2 1/2" from side to side by 2 1/4" front to back by 3/8" wide. I sold this piece some months ago on ebay(the high bidder ... morewas in China) It came back to me stamped as not having been picked up from the post office(I'm assuming that the purchaser didn't want to pay the duty/customs charges) So the buyer's money was refunded and back on ebay it goes- needless to say. I no longer ship to China. It's a superb, highly detailed piece, signed on the interior in areas(a total of 5 hallmarks) Quite hefty for such a thin piece, it weighs 23 grams. As you can see from the photos, there is some bending to the metal, not visible on the outside, one darkened are on the interior and age related wear to the metal. I'm not sure of the silver content- it does look like sterling to me, but I'm hoping one of the marks on the interior will give some indication to those who can read Chinese. I'm guessing it probably dates to the 1920's or so, but I'd love to hear from you on the topic. Measures 2 1/2" from side to side by 2 1/4" front to back by 3/8" wide. These bracelets are rare to find as a single. But to find a matching pair is very rare. Offered is an early Chinese export pair of silver Buddha bracelets, cuffs, or armbands. They are hallmarked China Silver and test to be coin silver or higher. They are a fine example of various silversmithing techniques includng repousse and engraving. Each bracelet displays scenes in three panels with decoration surrounding them. The maximum height is 4 1/8 inches. The cuff interior around the wrist tip to tip measures approximately 7 inches. Total weight for the pair is 153.6 grams. The gap opening is flexible. Condition is good. One bracelet has a 1/8 inch vertical split in a corner where it would be flexed when putting it on(shown in the left bracelet in photo#2, it is barely noticeable in the top corner edge. These are RARE and just gorgeous. Both are antique Chinese solid silver and bamboo. One of the is HUGE! It is signed Silver as shown and about 3/8 of an inch wide and one each side it is about 1/2 of an inch wide! Gorgeous hand tooled scenes in solid silver. Superb condition. It is 2 1/2 inches across from left to right measuring from the inside. VERY VERY LARGE BANGLE! The smaller one is signed D2 925 also in superb condition with the hand tooled silver center. This one is much smaller in width. About 1/4 of an inch. This measures approx. 2 3/8 inches across from left to right measuring from the interior. Gorgeous pair.
