Up for auction is this very beauti ful deep antique V ICTORIAN PICTURE FRAME. It has a terrific ornate oval mat and a very primitive looking picture of a very serious looking little boy. I can not tell if it is an original watercolor. I believe the frame to be walnut. The overall dimensions are 13 3/4" x 11 3/4" The inside dimension is 9 1/2" x 7 1/2" The depth from the glass to the top of the fram e is 2 3/4" I believe everything about this is original. Including the glass which has a couple of bubbles. I wish somewhere there was a name and a date. I can find none. This is a lovely frame and I am growing attached to"Mr. Manners" Please. Walnut, and Oak Chest on Chest In two parts: the upper section having three aligned drawers over three graduated drawers with brass bail handle pulls; the lower section having a pull-out slide over three graduated drawers. Brasses replaced and drawers front probably refaced) Last Quarter 18th Century Height: 73" x Width: 45-1/2" x Depth:21" Double chest. Vertically. It is a rare design e4specially since most of us arn't tall enough to see inside the top row of drawers. Each row consists of either three smaller drawers across, or one large drawer. The entire piece of furniture is made up of two sections, the top and the bottom. The top of the piece fits into the bottom without needing any type of hardware to attach them togather. All that is needed is ... moreto set the top section inside the outer rim of the bottom section. About mis section there is a flat rather thin board which pulls out like one of the drawers, but is intended to act as a folding table. Also there is a very unique large drawer just above that folding one which offers four smaller drawers inside and also four cubby holes each with a compartment just under these little drawers. The entire piece is handmade from frame to finish The workmanship of the day was impeccable and the vaneering composition and application is completely without compare Each drawer is trimmed around the perimetor with a light maple of about a 1/2 inch all around. The chest is roughly two hundred and twenty years old. And I have to underscore just how stable and functional the piece is still. This is not a piece that one has to just look at, this is a full service, everyday working chest that still has many many years of service left in her. Of course certain care needs to be done to ensure that indeed the integrety of her beauty and construction live on and are not compromised. This is an elegant Dyrlund Super Skyline executive desk in teak(or perhaps walnut or other hardwood) and made circa 1960's or 1970's. It is marked with the Dyrlund labels made in Denmark on the base and top as well as the gold Dyrlund logo inside the drawer. I do not know the designer but it is in the style of Harvey Probber. This is a very high quality desk and is VERY expensive if new or restored. It is a statement piece and is in very good overall condition but the finish has faded and has scratches mostly on the top and other superficial wear. It also has some small dents on the top and sides and some scratches around the drawer area. There is a chip along the bottom in the front and one towards the side that has been repaired. Being offered is a used Baldwin Hamilton Model 243 HP Studio Piano in Walnut finish. With Bench and Cover. The piano is 45” high and features dual rubber castors all around and braced front legs. Making moving it on smooth surfaces very easy. The piano’s serial number is 445228. And was built by Baldwin Piano Company in 1995-1996 in the USA. This model is legendary for its quality of tone and durability. And can be found in schools, churches and auditoriums, as well as in the homes of pianists who desire excellent response and tone, but do not have room for a grand piano. This piano was purchased new for our theater in 1995-1996. Primarily for use with pit orchestras– we have a grand for concerts. In recent years. It has had limited use, as most keyboard musicians are now bringing digital pianos rather than relying on the variable quality ... moreof provided instruments. The piano cover has a soft felt lining and water repellant cloth finish. And was used to cover the piano when it was not in use. The piano was just tuned and cleaned. And is in excellent playing condition. Cosmetically. There are some scratches and damage to the wood at both tone escapement openings on the front of the piano. This has no effect upon the sound. The included bench was made by Kimball; it is a little lighter in color than the piano. But has a padded top and opens for music storage. Sadly. Baldwin no longer manufactures this piano in the United States; production was discontinued in 2002 and production moved to China. The piano uses a solid spruce soundboard. All solid wood in the cabinet(no particle board or MDF) and will last for generations given regular tuning and care. If you are looking for a quality piano at a bargain price. The case has an exceptional look. The measurements are approximately 49" height and 24" depth. As far as what I can see, it would need restoring of some keys and about a 2" piece of trimwork is missing from the upper left side. The number 6158 can be found under the lid on the right side. This is a pre-owned Jewel Case. Elegant by Design with a Walnut finish, a Picture frame lid, a Ring section, a Pull out drawer and Silver tone knobs; made in China; style#60-841-11. Brand new it was $20.00. It's measurements are 5 1/4" all the way around(on all four sides, each) on top and bottom; the middle section(in front and back) are 4 1/2" wide while the right and left sides(around the middle) are 5 1/2" wide(which includes the silver tone knobs sticking out. The picture frame lid takes a 2 1/2" x 2 3/4" photo. The upper left-hand corner and lower right-hand corner of the lid have tiny gaps in them that do not affect the function of the lid in any way. Underneath the lid, the tabs for keeping the photo backing in place are loose and hold better with clear tape over them(as seen in the provided photos) and ... morethe felt boxed lining on the front left and right sides are slightly warped and pulling away from the sides. They can be super-glued back into place or replaced with another lining if one would choose to do that; otherwise, it is not noticeable from the outside and does not affect the function of the case in any way. There are four small round felt cutouts that are attached to the four corners of the jewelry case to help keep it from scratching surfaces it may be placed on; however, the are seemingly pretty flat and not placed completely centered so could use four new pieces or added pieces for extra protection to other surfaces the box may be placed on. 6 Black Americana Loveleigh novelty dolls from the 1930s& 1940s These interesting old antique folk art dolls all come from the little town of Grantville. GA. They were all hand made by folk artist Itura Colley Leigh in the 1930s& 1940s. Miss Leigh was known around the town as Miss Love, hence the name"Loveleigh" dolls. In the late 1920s when the snowbirds would come down from all of the northern states to escape the winter, Miss Love came up with the idea to sell a novelty doll to them as they passed through town on their way to Florida. She ended up selling thousands& thousands of them over about a 25 years period. The dolls have been coveted by collectors ever since. What's unique about the doll is that every head/face is made out of a Walnut. These dolls became so popular that she applied for a patent in 1928. ... moreShe had to. Because crafters all over the south started copying her exact doll designs. Even though Loveleigh dolls were"copied/bootlegged" no one could match the quality, artistic flair, or character and life she put into each one of figures. Truly each doll is an individual, no two came out alike. Even the expressions on each dolls faces are slightly different. Miss Love saved every scrap she could find to make these dolls. The sleeves from old blouses became the petticoats& dresses for the doll women. Pill boxes, pins, glass beads, wires. everything was used. This auction is for a set of 6 Loveleigh dolls. A full set has 11 dolls. You'll have to keep looking for the other 5. I moved to the town of Grantville in the early 1990s. I visited the"Bonnie Castle" where the dolls were made and found out about them. Unfortunately. No one in the town had any of the dolls. The owners of the Bonnie Castle desperately wanted to find some Loveleighs since the dolls were a big part of the history of the house. I spent many years tracking the dolls down. It's near impossible to find a complete set. The dolls I'm selling here came from all over the country.
