Reclaimed Wood Ceiling Beams, Barn Beam Decor, Timber Truss Designs
O ur beams have many uses as they are milled into practically every product we produce. They are milled from reclaimed barn beams. Or manufactured from new lumber for a more economical alternative. Their most common uses, however, are structurally and cosmetically. When used structurally, beams maintain not only their original purpose but their historical reverence as well. And by sifting through tons of beams, we find materials that have maintained their integrity through the years. This allows us to bring you beams that may be re-used structurally. Not all beams nor species of wood are suitable for this function. When used as adornments. They provide breathtaking appeal to any room. Their presence fills a home with remarkable sense of history and fascinating charm that everyone will love. Our beams can also be purchased hollowed out for ... moreeasy installation. 1830's Barn Timbers / Old Wood / Reclaimed Lumber
We had the job of taking down an old barn in Downingtown. PA, and managed to save a good deal of the wood. All the available salvage is now back at our yard in Norristown, PA. The current owner advised us that the barn"was part of the original Caleb Mercer Farmstead. Dating back to 1827-37, based on a Historic Resource Survey conducted by Wise Preservation Partners, as commissioned by East Bradford Township. It was designated as a Class I Historic Resource by the Township, along with being a contributing resource to the National Register of Historic Places Paradise Valley Historic District. We were advised from the property manager that the barn was added to around 1970; therefore. There is a mixture of old and newer wood in the lot. Some of the pieces are very interesting- like the rafters that have Roman numerals carved into them for ... morematching purposes. Other pieces are very large and very heavy. We see beautiful mantles. Furniture, supports, and decorative pieces being created from all this. Wood varies in value based on origin. Size, age, condition, etc. Because of this, we are offering this as an entire lot. Please email for further information. Wood must be picked up in Norristown. PA. Cash payment at pickup, please.

The Amish have kiln dried this beam down to 6-8% moisture content. This process eliminates most moisture and insects. And prevents shrinkage after installation. This beautiful reclaimed antique beam will have some old worm holes.
