Minton Majolica gothic revival tile arts and crafts Beaulah Collection Bonhams
This tile dates probably from the 1870s or 80s. It is beautifully glazed with about eight colours and is around 6 inches square. On the reverse. It is marked Minton and Co Stoke-on-Trent. There is a significant chip on the front which has been filled at some time in the past, see photo 4) but it is otherwise in good, used condition. The tile comes from the G K BEAULAH tiles sale at Bonhams on 25th January 1995. Some items are marked with a complete Bonhams sticker. Some have original Beaulah registrations on the back. Some have both. Sadly. This one has none. I will be selling off all of these tiles over the next few weeks so please check my other lots. This is for a fabulous looking old Victorian brass counter bell circa from the late 1800s. It is nice and decorative with a flared base which is embossed with a heavy gothic pattern pattern. The knob on the top is embossed with a flower design and the ringer is framed within a shapely cage underneath. It is in excellent condition with no damage and a warm patina. Untitled Document This pair of Arts and Crafts Candlesticks with snuffers is from our former Goberg collection which I'm now selling due to lack of room. They were purchased by us around 15 years ago from a dealer in London when we probably paid far too much for them. And they're being relisted now because I thought I'd sold them earlier this summer but the winning bidder never bothered to pay up(and I will cancel their bid if they waste my time again! The candlesticks show sign of use and have some light touches of rust to their surfaces(and even traces of wax) this patina is what(to me) makes them so attractive.They each stand about 21.5 cms in height and are approximately 12 cms across at the base. And they are both stamped Goberg to the base. With one the top is slightly out of true(see my photos) but again I think this just ... moreadds to their appeal. Antique French extra large Gothic wrought iron lanterns sconces 22 1/2" Tall Up for offer today an exceptional pair of sconces. These sconces date back to the 1940’s or about. These hung outside of a residence in Brussels Belgium. On the front door left and right of the door. But covered under a roof of the entrance. So these were protected from the rain etc… On another note. These sconces are not made to hang them straight in open air. These are not waterproof etc… These come with 5 pieces of glass each. We replaced these with new ones as the old ones were cracked and missing. The glass is new. 4 on each side of the sconce and one underneath. Originally these were painted or finished is a black paint. Rust was coming trough here and there. So somebody in the past finished these in this reddish color finish. NICE ART AND CRAFTS SLAG GLASS GOTHIC HANGING PORCH LIGHT
This auction is for a neat Art and Crafts period Gothic style hanging porch light. It has 8 slag glass and amber glass panels. The light has a great look but has a few minor losses that are not too noticable. Especially if it is hanging. First it is missing two decorative finials, one on one top corner and one on the bottom. One amber glass panel has some light crackling to the glass. It is not broken through and the glass is in tact. It is also missing the piece that would cover the wiring where it gos into the ceiling. There is some light paint loss to the metal but it only serves to give the light character. Up for auction is a rare Gothic tea pot or coffee with the most extraordinary features manufactured by the Taunton Silver Plate Company c1853 to 1875. We are not sure of the closing date of the Taunton SP Co. as Rainwater lists the closing as 1859 but we have seen pieces dated at least to the very early 1870's. The finial is a Japanese or oriental man and the handle also feature the bust of an oriental person while the feet resemble the face of dragons. Each side is etched with an oriental theme which appears to be Japanese also. Carved in oak with carved gothic decoration to the cresting rail of gothic roundels, the rectangular padded back and seat covered in nailed racing green leatherette on faceted octangular legs joined by chamfered square stretchers with brass caps and castors, the underside of both chairs stamped'HOLLAND& SONS' and one with'W. MILES' The condition of both chairs is mainly ... moregood and entirely original. With a natural and honest patina, deep colour and no sign of any restoration. The sprung seats are in good sturdy order and do not need re-springing or re-webbing. The leatherette is original and has considerable wear but, we think, charming and desirable. The castors are original and move freely. The chairs are both stamped twice“HOLLAND& SONS” and one with‘W. MILES' One of the chairs is missing a rear cap. The chairs' strong chamfered' gothic legs correspond to those of the'plain' standard pattern chair introduced for the House of Commons in the'New Palace of Westminster' fashion in 1849 by the architect A.W.N. Pugin(d.1852) Under the direction of the architect Sir Charles Barry(see A. Wedgwood, A.W.N. Pugin, London, 1985, no. 481) Originally founded in 1803 by Stephen Taprell and William Holland. VICTORIAN GOTHIC REVIVAL ANTIQUE LADIES CHAIR HAND CARVED GORGEOUS! Hand made nails used Golden colored with floral needlepoint Thick padded back& seat Oriental/gothic influenced hand carved wood Front casters are original This is a very unique style and I haven't been able to find anything like it. All of the nails(including the very large one with the square nut pictured in photo#9) have all handmade heads. Has a black finish which appears to be the original finish. Has these unique finger hooks on the top in the back(see photo#4) Your fingers fit perfectly under them so that you can lift the back and roll it on the front casters. This piece is in really good shape for its age. The wood has finish rubbed off in spots throughout and the chair may need some slight tightening. But tight for the most part and certainly sturdy enough ... moreto use. In photo#3, you can see a small, round, clear spot on the seat. Please see the photos for more details as the photos act as part of the description as well. In photo#9, there is a large bolt head showing in the back of the chair by the seat and the end& nut show on the bottom.it's not like that on the other side. It appears to be hand planed and DEFINITELY hand carved. The black fabric on the bottom is newer and without removing it. I'm not sure what's underneath, but in pulling the sides back a bit, all of the nails are hand made& old. Other than the staples holding on that back fabric, all of the hardware is 19th century. I believe that it had been reupholstered at some point due to original nail holes around the current edges of the fabric. It sounds like it is filled with some straw and under the black bottom fabric, there is what looks like a potato sack type of material. So, I'm thinking that if it were reupholstered, it was done a long time ago. There are nicks and paint missing throughout from use. The overall presence of this piece in the room is just awesome. I can certainly imagine see this in a fine ladies parlor. The casters are brass

Amazing pair of Gothic Tole Sconces! They work. I do not know what style they are. But they are the most amazing sconces I've ever seen. Gold colored metal, just the right amount of patina, could use a good cleaning. Small base candelabra bulbs. The sconces are about 18" wide(from shade to shade) 14" tall(from bottom of fixture to top of shade) and protrude about 8 1/2" from the wall. These sconces are in working condition. A superb 19thc black ceramic gothic bowl with the head of a gargoyle from the Danish Bornholm factory and signed by artist to base. Excellent detail to this piece really unusual piece. The bowl has the head of a gargoyle to one end. The gargoyle's arms form the sides of the bowl and its hands are clasped at end opposite the head. Wonderful detail to the head with the gargoyle having large pointed ears and mouth wide open. Bornholm and artist's signature impressed to base of bowl. Measures some 4" max height. Antique- Gothic Medieval LION HEAD (2) Drawer Pulls & CLAW FEET (2)
This is a beautifully detailed. Antique set of 2 matching Lion head drawer pulls and 2 matching claw foot front corner feet. They are cast from a mold, made of heavy metal. There are some areas on the metal that shine with a yellowish color like bronze(See pictures. The items do not appear to have ever been painted and have crisp and clear details. Each pull is approximately 3 inches long. 2 1/4 inches wide with a screw that protrudes 1 1/4 inches beyond its back edge. Each claw foot is 2 3/4 inches along each side, and 3 1/4 inches across. The claw foot is 1 1/2 inches at its tallest, and lifts whatever it is connected to about 1/2 an inch higher. They are a substantial weight at 4.9 oz per lion head and 3.3 oz per claw foot. These items probably date back to the mid 1800's. We salvaged these pieces from a worn box found in the attic ... moreof a house built in 1900. Vintage TEN CHAIRS heavy cast metal Hollywood Regency GOTHIC - LOCAL PICKUP ONLY

So search for it Modern Salvage Austin. Open every day. Vintage set of 10 heavy iron chairs from the 1960s or 70s in a highly ornate gothic or hollywood regency style- very well made(all welded. Heavy solid metal) Seats are nicely upholstered with heavy upholstery fabric in excellent condition(not dirty nor worn out) as-found from the local estate. Some wear to the paint, not sure if these are aluminum or iron, almost looks like aluminum, I don't see rust. Some wear to the paint here and there, but all original as-found and beautiful set, I don't find sets of 10 of any chair very often. Note the first picture there's only 9 in the pic, but rest assured there are ... more10 chairs like this(one was still in the truck when we took the picture in front of our shop, but it is just as nice as the rest) Come to our shop to examine in person and work out the details. You will not be disappointed in these chairs. Many of the feet have plastic coasters someone stuck on them at some point, but many are missing(this is not damage as these appear to be added, and the feet are all good condition and not deteriorated) Easy to add stick on glides from a store if you prefer. The fabric is still very nice and very presentable but these would be easy to recover if you preferred a different look. I do not have a matching table, this is 10 chairs only. all chairs are as shown, there are no armchairs) People from the estate told me these were from France, but I don't have any verification, no maker names that I can find on them. Antique Gothic Style Door Escutcheon: Bronze
We have offered this item before. But with what we think were not very good photos. This is an attempt to improve the showing. The gothic style heavy(approx. 2 3/4 lb. bronze door escutcheon is ready to be used with any fitting lock and doorknob. It has a light patina which we have purposely left as is since some people prefer it this way. It is approx. 14" in height, 3" in width, and stands out from the door approx. 1/2" The lock hole is approx. 4 inches from doorknob base(center to center. There are 4 holes for mounting. As can be seen, this was designed primarily as an outside escutcheon.

Lots of stylized vines/trefoils in the middle section and what can be construed as a stylized bat just below the small central circle. Measures just under 14" tall and 10" wide.
