What you are looking at here is a German wag on wall clock. This clock is from the early to Mid 1800's. And comes straight from Germany by a collector who lived there in the 50's. This clock features a very unique Gothic black forest design to it. The dial is porcelain, and in good condition. There is a couple of missing pieces on the clock, but nothing to major. Included is 2 weights and a pendulum, I am not sure if these are original or not, but they appear to be period. Some paint loss, yet a classy and stunning set. Letter holder measures 9 1/4" by 5 1/2" by 3" deep. Pen/inkwell or stamp roll holder measures 6" by 4" by 2 3/4" tall. Not cleaned to death, like many items you can find here. No restorations. Only preserved. At the end of the handle here a very nice brass pommel with decoration ornaments. Also some brass at the beginning. An interesting point at this knife is it´s well remained wood on one side of the handle. On the other side little rests. All original! Complete length is 20 cm. I offer for auction an original(not recast) early brass finely engraved ornamental hand tool for use in Gold finishing on quality books. The tool is stamped ROYLE who was George Royle& Son who worked in London from 1831- 1906. From the Gothic Style of the ornament I would place it around the 1850s. The design is very nicely engraved. The tool is in good usable condition with a good old handle-a little scorched around the tool end. Size of the engraved face is approx. 17mm by 17mm. and it can be used as a centre tool if required. This is a beautiful bench that was made from an antique rope bed. Look up the history of the rope bed its interesting. The bench is 36" tall x 42" wide x 19 1/2" deep. It has a custom made cushion. It has some dings and scratches showing its age. It also has some other character details. see pic# 5. The back posts have matching wear on the top points almost like it was planned. The last pic shows the bench under the cushion. The cushion has a zipper on it. I have the zipper facing forward in the pics just to show that it is there. Possibly Nast, fine handpainted scenes of people with cattle at a well and mountain in background, framed by two-tone gilt wreath, matte bleu royale background on reverse with gothic design matte gold tracery and“jewel” pedants, open handles with matte gilt faces, gilt trim on rolled rims and pedestal bases, bolt construction to base, incised on bases“n” 8” 10.75” tall. 8” dia. Shows wear to gilt, flake on rear left base corner. 07d- Matte gold on blue royale or purple is on pieces purchased from Nast by King Ferdinand VII of Spain when he married in 1816. Sr(1877-1943) built a fine Colonial Revival red brick home located at 1617 Summit Drive, Columbus, GA by the architectural firm Hentz, Reid& Adler, Atlanta, GA. These items were purchased in 1922 or 23 during a trip to NYC to purchase antiques and furniture for their house, which they moved into in 1924. An attorney. RE Dismukes, Sr was from an influential Columbus business family and was educated at Princeton and Harvard. He married Ms Lenora Swift(1884-1965) from another influential Columbus, GA family involved in textile manufacturing. Many were entertained at their Columbus. GA home including Army administration personnel during their interaction at the local military base, Fort Benning, GA during World War II era. This is a superb gothic carved wooden corbel with the relief winged angel and green man carvings of which: During our research we have been informed it dates from the gothic period of the mid 19th century and is of european origin. Dates about c1840. Stunning gothic relief carvings with the two green man head carvings with the three winged angels. Other intricate carvings around the circumference with leaves& fruits. Carved in a hard wood. A flat back with the hole to the base. Flat top. The corbel has an overall height of about 4.75inches. Max overall size to the top of about 9.75 x 7.25inches. Head of the gothic green man with other carvings of fruits. Leaves and other. Carved in an oak. Has an overall height of about 27inches. Max width of just under 4inches. Max depth of 2.25 inches.
