T he wood supporting the back is gently curved along with the wood frame supporting under the seat. The frame is strong and sturdy. Aesthetically. It is also in very nice condition. The wood frame shows only some wear mostly on the left side. The left hand rest and left front bottom curved rocker have some small dings and some light smaller scuffs. They could be rubbed out if you need it to look like new. Again they just seem to be on the left front and are nothing major(see photos) Pads do show a lot of wear. They could be covered or replaced or left as they are. They are sooo comfy. I think they look great as they are. Weathered and worn. It is circa 1900 ... moreand had its original tag. It measures about 38" tall. 27" wide at the widest spot(arms) and 34" deep(length of rocker runners) It is dark walnut brown in color. Rocker runners are made of bird's eye maple. Original Heywood-Wakefield tag is still on the back of the seat(see photo) CONDITION: The chair is in great. Overall, antique condition. As an item that is over 100 years old, it does have some condition issues that I will go over here. T he chair had some damage to the seat which was repaired by an antiques refinishing and repair professional that I have trusted for years to work on my antique furniture. This damage included a split in the back of the seat which was repaired with epoxy and filled. It has had the caning in the seat replaced and colored to blend with the rest of the chair. The right arm was also loose at the base of the seat and has been reset firmly into place with epoxy. In fact. It is even more solid that the other arm which has some slight movement if you wiggle it, but is secure. The repaired arm does have some missing cane at the bottom, but does not detract greatly in my opinion and could be repaired if you wish. There is no other broken or missing whicker which is amazing for a large piece of this vintage. There is a bit of wood missing underneath on a leg where one rung is glued in but cannot be seen unless you turn the chair over. The entire piece has been refinished. Please see photos for pictures of the condition items discussed. Note: While this rocker is structurally sound. I would recommend that its delicate, antique nature be taken into consideration when used. It may not support larger people or rough usage. We are a smoke-free. Adult only environment. The cane seat is in good ... morecondition. This is on a smaller scale. I believe they called them a Sewing Chair, it's lower than a regular chair, good for Nursing and kids to sit on too. It's used but in good condition. Very few nicks, dents, etc. See the pictures for any details and the measurements. You'll notice it has two stretchers all the way around. Condition: Unspecified Location: Atlanta, United States Vintage Childs Rattan and Bamboo Bentwood Chair Rocker Here is a child's chair/rocker that I recently picked up at an auction. I think the wood is ... morebamboo. But not sure, so you be the judge. Much of the chair screwed together with vintage screws and then has strapping around the joints to give it a nice look. The rattan back and seat are still intact. The chair is all together. But could use a little attention to tighten it all up again. Great twirls of the wood on the arms and on the back. No makers mark on the chair that I can see. The chair/rocker is 26-3/4" tall. By 13.5" across, by 30" wide.
