Each measures 29.75 wide by 22 tall and are 1.75 inches thick. The other end is 15.5 inches tall. The glass only measures 26 by 12.25 inches and 18 inches. They are 1.75 inches thick. Overall they are in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as they are antique. They could use a good cleaning. There are a couple of tight hairlines. These came form a farm house in Pa. 25 years ago just before the farm was sold off to developers. The owner of the farm(he was 92 at the time) told us the windows were from the 1870's to 1890's- really not sure this is true BUT this was his words- he did seem in his right mind BUT just passing my information; the windows are in"old condition" but there are two sets- ONE window was glued with epoxy;as this old Jent. told me" It look like it can be fixed and made original. there is some great potential here- IF RESTORED AND LIT FROM BEHIND- SUPER COOL FOR OVER FIRE-PLACE. They are in wonderful condition for their age. One repair was made under the Wheat or it may have been original I'm told. The memorials are stenciled in ink and may be removed. The frames and glazing should be redone before installation. These were intended for a remodel but proved too tall at 10 foot. Each has a hinged opening window,one on top and the other on bottom. A very large antique. Circa 1890's, domestic window of solid colored transparent glass, opalescent clear glass, green-blue slag, and caramel slag glass(no actual stained glass pieces. The stained wood frame measures 52-1/2" tall by 56" wide by 2" deep, the leaded glass window 45" tall by 49-1/2" wide. Very good plus condition: the frame has two metal recessed hand grips to the bottom of the frame on reverse. Frame appears solid construction, original finish. There are cracks to glass here or there to pieces, all pieces with secure original leadings, no sag to leadings. Up for sale is this extremely rare and absolutely gorgeous stained glass window. This window dates back to at the very earliest 1880. It came out of a Jewish Synagogue up in Northeast USA. The colors are stunning. You can see the age by the hinges and the wood. The middle has a burning star. It is some for of Jewish symbolism. It is quite big. Antique Stained Glass Window Circa European Church Stunning in Great Condition
This is an amazing piece of architectural history. The owner of this window said it came from an old church in Europe in the late 1800's. The stained glass is hand painted stencils. It is in old heavy wood and has the two hinges still on the side. There is a small cracks in the little red glass under the circle. The bottom right hand corner rectangle is missing the small piece of glass. The entire glass is pretty solid and has a slight bow to it. Which I assume has been like that for years. The owner states the dealers tell him the red glass is the most valuable of all the glass. It measures 23 5/8" wide x 35" tall x 1.75" thick. I am selling a similar one on Ebay from the same church. Two Antique Stained Glass Windows ca. 1800's from 163-yr-old Philadelphia church
These are magnificent stained glass windows in their original wooden frames. They were salvaged from a 163-yr-old church in the historic Fishtown section of Philadelphia. I live in close proximity to where the church these came from has been recently demolished to make way for modern condominiums. And we acquired these beautiful tall windows on-site during the demolition.The name of the church these came from is the Pilgrim Congregational Church.The plot where the church was built was purchased in 1837 by the Union Wesleyan Church of Kensington. By 1838 the congregation, by then known as the First Associated Church of Kensington, built a small brick church. In 1851 the church changed denomination to Independent Church, and the current building was begun for the new First Independent Christian Church of Kensington. In 1870, the brick building ... morewas enlarged and a stone facade was installed. In 1897 the congregation was formally recognized as the Pilgrim Church,which it remained until merging with St. Michael's Lutheran Church in 2014. Each panel of these beautiful stained glass windows measure as follows: Stained glass portion: 8 ft high x 10.5 in wide Total dimensions including the original wooden frame: 8 ft, 10 in high x 21 in wide x 8.5 in deep The pictures were taken on a cloudy afternoon, and do not do justice to these magnificent windows. We included pictures of the church before demolition began to show where the windows were originally situated. Another picture was that of the facade of the church as viewed from the inside during the demolition. These windows are quite heavy, each weighing approximately 250-300 lbs. If you are seriously interested and would like some more pictures, please let us know, and we will take them out and photograph them on a sunny day which will better showcase their beauty. This historical collectors piece. From the 1800's era, when railroads were the main mode of transportation and a way of life, is a vintage original. The"CHEPPING DEAN" window sign is the one that once hung at the railroad halt in Chepping Dean, England before turn of the century.
