I love this for the sheer beauty of it. A vintage professionally framed Russian Madonna And Child icon. I don't believe it is a bookplate because the small print is rather irregularly cut. Could be cut from a book. Regardless. It is exquisite in its richness of color. It is entirely metallic gold with the exception of the primary colors. Bordered by a fine turquoise line. The print is set behind beveled glass. The backing and stand are fabric. It is held together at each corner by 4 ornate studs which complement the entire piece. No mater where it came from, someone must have thought a lot of the print to go to such lengths to preserve it. The overall dimensions are 6" X 5" The print itself is 4.25" X 3" Beautiful! Striking, quarter sawn oak construction with nice tiger stripe patina. This would be off the charts expensive to have custom made today in mill shop. It has the classic, gothic, arch design& deep bevelling. To say this is high quality, is an understatement. Middle pediment with ornate carved medallions at each end measures 46 1/2 inches by 4 inches. That piece alone is enough reason to bid. The rest is gravy! The matching pair of narrow arches measures 28 1/2 inches by 2 1/4 inches. The small, matching, arched panels measure approx 7 7/8 by 5 inches. EARLY ANTIQUE OLD HAND MIRROR BEVELED WOODEN HANDLE sterling plate on back
As you can see there are a few flaws. There is some rusting on the metal frame around the mirror. A small nick in the mirror, a small crack in the wood, and denting in the sterling. The metal on back is stamped sterling. Wood has not been restored nor has any part of this mirror it. It is a gent’s dresser with a tall beveled dressing mirror on one side and a small cabinet on the other atop double dresser drawers. The small cabinet serves perfectly as a lamp shelf for lighting next to the mirror. The cabinet consist of 2 small drawers and 1 open storage area just the right size for hats. It appears to have all the original hardware. The drawer pulls are ornately pressed metal batwings and the door has a knob pull. The dresser is very old and has patina to show it. It is in really great shape for its age. The dresser top has lots of marks and scuffs from the years, part of the great patina. I do not know the maker or exact date this dresser was made. New Old Stock Beveled Glass Trapezoids Lot of 10. This auction is for a paper wrapped package of 10 trapezoid shaped beveled glass pieces. The bevels are 2-1/2" across the bottom. 6-1/2" on the long side, 4-5/8" on the short side and 3" long on the angled side. They have a 5/16" bevel on all sides and are 3/16" thick. I've shown a picture of a package opened up but you'll receive one that's not been unwrapped. I've used them as borders on many different stained glass windows over the years. The nails and mirroring date to the very early 1900’s. The hue of the wood& patina of the iron also state provenance of that era of workmanship. M easures 26 3/8" h x 20 3/8" l x 1 1/4" deep with a ¾" beveled perimeter Frame wood is 1 1/2" wide- M irror and frame weighs approx. 9 1/2 lbs. The silver mirroring is intact with no peeling having superior reflectivity. Has a few old paint spatter dots giving added character and would not risking a scratch to this amazingly well preserved piece of history. The Empire style. Was an early-19th-century design movement in architecture, furniture. It has been in the Family for three generations. The piece is in great condition and the finish looks original. I believe Oak was used to produce the piece and it has a clear finished. The mirror is beveled on all edges. I saw no evidence of silvering losses on the mirror. Hand Leaded Beveled and Clear Textured Glass Stained Glass Window. This auction is for a hand leaded beveled and clear textured glass window that I made in the early 80's. The original window was much larger but got badly damaged and the my client decided that he didn't want it fixed. He just wanted me to make him another window. I salvaged the undamaged part and enough of the original glass to make this small window. The window is 20" wide by 21-1/4" tall. It's been partially releaded, cleaned, regrouted and I put new zinc on the edges. The window has a chip glass outer border, a beveled border and a very fine granite inner border. The field is clear water glass with and interesting little beveled pattern in the corner. If it looks a little cloudy it's from the piece of glass that it's leaning against. But I am blown away by the quality. They come with a blue, genuine mahogany label inside saying that the exterior is all solid mahogany, and that the plywood is 100 percent mahogany, and the association number is 139, which would be this furniture company’s code number to look them up. This was a code used by the better furniture companies that belonged to an association to prevent them from being copied by knockoff companies that made similar looking but lower-quality pieces. Do not get these confused with a Drexel or any of the other corner cabinets from the‘50s. These are bigger, of better quality, and the selection of flame mahogany across the fronts on the doors is banded and outstanding. They have their original cast brass hardware, and all the beveled glass is good. There are two shelves behind each glass door. It’s really hard to find a matched pair of anything, never mind something as magnificent as these pieces. Being presented for sale is this Classic American Empire Revival Solid Mahogany Sideboard Buffet with its original wide beveled mirror and classic scroll columns circa 1900. If you have been in search for a substantial classic piece for storage and display in your dining area you will not be disappointed in all the storage and classic elegance this monumental piece has to offer. This sideboard measures a total height to the wide display shelf at the top of 64 inches. Height to the front portion measures 38 inches, with a total width of 72 inches(6ft) and total depth of 27 1/2 inches and this solid mahogany piece weighs approximately 300 lbs. The top mirror portion does lift off to allow for easier moving and shipping. We believe the wide beveled mirror to also be original and ... moremeasures 59 inches wide by 19 inches high and does show some cloudiness and mild streaking as age appropriate. Antique Quarter Sawn Oak Hall Tree (Narrow) w/ Beveled Mirror/American REDUCED
This is a very nice antique oak hall tree. I'm not sure of the exact date. But likely very early 1900s. I believe it to be an American made piece. It is made of solid quarter sawn oak. It has been refinished. Pretty carving work at the top. Mirror and hooks appear original. Beveled mirror is in excellent condition with one small area near the top showing de-silvering. Drip pan is missing, but one could be added. Hall tree is in very good to excellent condition overall. A narrow piece for a small area! Measurements: Height- 78" Width- 22" Depth- 10-1/4" Mirror measures 11-1/2" wide x 17-1/2" high Drip pan area measures 15-1/2" wide x 8-1/4" deep From floor to top of umbrella rack(in front) measures 31" I'm guessing this piece weighs around 30lbs. or less. GOLDEN OAK VICTORIAN DOORED BOOKCASE W/ 4 ADJUSTABLE SHELVES & BEVELED MIRROR
This is a beautiful golden oak victorian bookcase circa 1880. The bookcase has 2 glass doors. 4 adjustable shelves, and 2 storage drawers at the base. The drawers have the nice original hardware including key eschusions and locks although there is no key. However the doors doesn't have the key eschusion but has the lock and the working key. The same key does not fit the doors and drawers. The bookcase is a nice size. It measures 70 1/2" tall, 36" wide, and is 13 1/2" deep at the top 12" deep at the shelves and 15" deep at the base. The original beveled mirror on the top backsplash is 10 1/2" x 6 1/2" oval and has a smoky appearance. There is nice trim around the doors. The bookcase is a little loose from side to side but by no means in bad shape. It is very useable without any repair. Email with any ... morequestions. The fishlike creatures supporting the glass are solid brass. The other metal on the table is magnetic and appears to be brass plated. The legs have a very nice diamond pattern inscribed into the surface producing a beautiful texture. There is an DIA LABEL on the underside of the table and is dated 1989. We were so very lucky to uncover a variety of vintage bevels. Jewels, roundels. The majority of these fabulous pieces were from the turn of the century. During the depression this family was buying and storing all new old stock from other stain glass suppliers. The variety is from Germany, Czechoslovakia, Austria and France. When we purchased these some were packaged in original boxes or tissue and just covered with years of warehouse storage soot!
