Vintage French Provincial Style Tall Electric Gold Mantle Clock Marked Louis XV
This is a rare French Provincial Style clock in all gold so it's very formal and could go in almost any room. This gorgeous piece can be a tall mantle clock or go on any table or nightstand or chest of drawers. Very versatile decorating piece that designers love to find. I can find similar clocks in white with gold rubbing but haven't seen one exactly like this in all gold in my research. This clock works just fine as of when I bought it and then I retested by plugging it in today. This lovely estate sale find is in perfect vintage condition. There's is a nice patina to the gold finish since it's darkened in some crevices but no loss of gold really. The face of the clock is also gold and very ornate with Roman Numerals and thats where it's marked Louis XV. There are no other maker's marks that can be seen. It's ... morevery similar in style to the ones by United but I didn't see where they had Louis XV on the face. This gorgeous piece is 11.5 inches tall at the tallest point and 5 inches wide and 3 inches deep. I don't see any scratches on the clock or glass face. Fine condition. This clock is probably made of cast iron and has a nice weight of 3.75 lbs.

Offered for sale is a Beautiful French Cherry Antique Server/Buffet/Sideboard. This sideboard features beautifully hand-carved details. Four dove-tailed drawers and four doors each with 2 adjustable shelves and scroll feet. The hardware is solid brass and the cherry grain is gorgeous. The drawers include mahogany and ash wood. This sideboard measures 41" high x 87 1/2" wide x 21" deep. The cabinet has locks, but we do not have the key. The sideboard is in excellent overall condition with light scratches on the top surface(see pics#5, 6) It appears a prior owner sanded the top very smooth but did not refinish the top with varnish. The back of the sideboard does not have any manufacturer's signature. Pair of French Provincial Louis XVI Antique Canapé Sofas Probably of Northern European origin One canapé of the period. Late 18th Century Second canapé is a nearly identical copy. Late 19th- early 20th Century Item# 130201HSL27 These are an absolute treasure. A rare find remarkably preserved and executed. They are a Pair of French Provincial Style Painted Antique Canape Sofas. One of the Period and crafted during the last quarter of the 18th Century. The other a nearly perfect copy of the first, probably executed during the late 19th to early 20th Century. Any craftsman can attest to the sheer difficulty of what was undertaken in crafting a copy of the original canape, a complex and incredibly time consuming endeavor that was certainly a commissioned project with a skilled cabinetmaker. Without any of the original drawings ... moreor schematics, the craftsman would literally have to measure every carving, build special tracks to lathe the molding, find woods that would adequately support the later"patination" and carve all aspects entirely by hand. The construction is identical to the period canapé. Including the placement of pegs to complete the tenon-mortised joints along the apron and frame. The results of this care are self evident. A very handsome and rare pair of antique canapé sofas in simply gorgeous condition. Both have a fine blend of teal. Cream and grey painted surfaces, flowing smoothly with the cream and light green diamond upholstery. The down-stuffed cushions are thick and comfortable with wonderful dimensions for the seating area that are quite supportive. The crest and apron of both sofas feature a somewhat unusual twisted and flowing ribbon tied in bows, the knees above each leg a deep inset rosette carving of floral inspiration, the legs broadly fluted, tapering and square in profile with upright bellflower carvings. Long rounded arms slope from the back, curling into deep hand rests over cabriole arm supports. A flat upholstered seat rests over a wavy apron with foliate carvings that mirror the crest, flanked by cabriole legs terminating in french toes wrapped in acanthus leaves. Antoine Paris, flanked on each side of the central by a glass panel surmounted by original marble top with beveled edge. It has two adjustable glass shelfs and a mirror backing. Antoine Krieger. Born in Alsace on June 5, 1804, set up shop in the Faubourg Sainte-Antoine(the furniture-making district of Paris) in 1826 with his brother as Maison Krieger and was married there in 1829. The marriage of his two daughters, one in 1849 to the cabinet-maker Claude-Julien Cosse, and the other in 1853 to the merchant Henry Racault, increased his prosperity. He then formed a partnership with his sons-in-law one of whom was to retire in 1858 and the other in 1870.
