Condition: Used Location: Wimauma, United States Deutsch Brothers Louis XV Style French Provincial Carved Sofa/ Settee This is a beautiful and rare piece of American made furniture from Chicago. I have ... moreseen a few other pieces of Deutsch Brothers furniture but none in this decent of shape.We have been dealing in furniture for several years and have rarely seen these pieces come up. This was purchased from an entire estate locally here in Reno. Nevada. There is not a great deal known about Deutsch Brothers Furniture. They were located in Chicago and apparently closed sometime from 1920-1927 due to a bankruptcy that was the result of a fire in their warehouse. It is later noted that Deutsch Brothers were commissioned in 1961 by Jacquelyn Kennedy to design furniture in the Louis XV style for the East Room of the White House. After completion of this project. All details of the pieces were to be destroyed so that no duplicates could be made. My guess is that there were not. This piece, besides the color, appears to be the exact piece ordered by Mrs. Kennedy. It is still on display in the Music Room of The White House. Click the link below to check it out. Condition and Dimensions: The piece was well cared for and looks to have very little to no wear at all. There are no rips. Tears, or staining on any of the fabric at all. Fabric is a pink floral pattern through out with darker pink and gold accent flowers. Not sure the exact type of wood but it is painted all white with gold accents acroos the whole piece. Cushion shows no wear on either side. I provided photos of both sides. Woodwork is solid. No cracking or breaking anywhere. Color is unfaded. Thie piece has been kept in a very dark house and has seen very little light. On a scale of 1 to 10 for condition, 10 being best, I would say this piece is an 8 or 9. This sofa is 53 1/2 inches wide from arm to arm. It measures roughly 33 inches deep from front to back. Seat height is 18 inches. The height is 36 1/2 inches tall along the curved corner areas and 34 inches tall in the middle where the birds are located. The

French Sterling Travel Coffee Pot 1809-1819 Louis-Joseph Thomas Napoleon Paris
I bought this beautiful pot on eBay from a dealer in Los Angeles in 2003. The pot bears the following marks(see photos) Maker's mark for Louis-Joseph Thomas(active 1801-1822 in Paris) on the bottom of the body and partially obscured on the inside of the lid. Verification Mark(poincon d'essai) on the bottom of the body and partially obscured on the inside of the lid. First Standard Mark 1809-1819 Paris(the rooster walking right. Figure 1) on the bottom of the body and on the neck of the lid. Guarantee Mark 1809-1819 Paris(head of Minerva with helmet. Facing right) on the bottom of the body and on the neck of the lid. The item measures: H: 4 3/4" to top of finial) D: 3 1/4" at the mouth of the pot; L: 7 1/4" to the tip of the handle) It weighs total for the silver 7.8 oz(5.4 oz for the pot. 2.4 oz for the lid) As I write ... morein the description. This item has had some repairs on the lid(repaired from inside so not noticeable from outside) and the body(perhaps it was dented) These repairs were made by a master silversmith and are expected in a piece of this age. When I bought the pot the ebony knob on the lid was pinned through the lid with a flattened bolt. So the knob couldn't be removed for cleaning. I took it to Lawrence Miller in Alexandria, Virginia, who threaded the pin and made a beautiful nut out of silver based on the type of nut that would have been used for this detail in the early 19th century. He made it all of sterling silver. The ebony handle has a beautiful polished finish on it. But the knob is more matte, perhaps because the polished finish wore away when they couldn't remove the knob for polishing. In any case. This pot is probably from a traveling case(necessaire de voyage) popular in the early 19th century. Because of the thermal break offered by the ebony at the handle and the lid, this was probably used either to heat water, or to serve hot drinks. A heavily and tastefully carved Louis XV Wingback Antique Arm Chair of the Rococo Revival period. This is a piece that was built to last with strong and heavy construction throughout. The crest is an ornate and complicated carving of flowing ribbon tied in a double-bow and interlaced with flowers that sprout over and along the frame, likewise carved carefully with a large twisted rope molding lined by a small twisted rope border. French Louis XVI Style Carved and Gilded Antique Settee(Sofa. Canape, Loveseat) Probably France. C. 1900-15 Item# 130001KKG27 This is a very fine French Louis XVI Style Antique Settee with Gilded Carved surfaces. Crafted during the first years of the 20th Century at the end of the Rococo Revival period, c. 1900-15. It is an exceptional piece in every way, the molding work on every exposed surface is simply above reproach. The crest rail is bowed with an unusual carved design at the apex, lifting in swirls and actually flowing up and over the back of the settee. This is flanked on each corner with highly detailed acorn finials over floral carvings that fall along the stiles. The arms are likewise decorated, the handholds with carved acanthus leaves, the arm supports with scaled molding over acanthus foliage at the knees. The modern upholstery ... moreis a soft yellow with collections of fruits and foliage throughout, a comfortable stuffed back and a somewhat more supportive and firm seat. The apron of the antique french settee is a complex infiniti-motif closed on each end with swirled-rosettes at the knees. The entire sofa resting over twist-turned tapered legs terminating in plain ball feet. This is a very fine antique french settee. Crafted entirely by hand with utmost precision and care during an important revival of the French styles. With a wealth of demand for revivals of the 18th Century works, many very high quality pieces were renewed during this era, much of it brought into the States to satisfy the significant demand of discerning clients during the period. No expense was spared in the crafting of this piece, and clearly it was well cared for over the years. This is an antique french settee you will treasure and actively use in your home for a lifetime. A style that never goes out of vogue and of a flexible size for use in any number of rooms in the home. Pair Of Antique Victorian Louis XV Carved Walnut / Mahogany French Chairs
Both chairs are in nice shape for their age. They are upholstered in what feels like a silk like material and the bones are still strong and not wobbly. Wood has nicely detailed carvings throughout. I'm not sure if it is walnut or mahogany. But you can zoom in with the pictures and see for yourself. Nail studded trim work throughout the entire piece, even under the seat cushion. The upholstery may need a little minor cleaning on the arms, and there is minor wear on the wood, but since the chairs are obviously carved the minor wear gives them character and really goes unnoticed when looking at them overall.
