Vintage 1960's Brownie Orange Ties and Coin Purse on Belt
Up for auction is a set of three items from the 1960's. I wore them when I was in Brownies. The long tie measures 20 1/2" long X 2" at widest point. The short tie measures 15" long X 1 1/4" at widest point. The plastic and elastic belt measures approximately 26" long. The plastic coin purse is 3 1/4" X 2 3/4" All in all very good condition. With a little bending at belt holes from buckling.

It has a zipper and it still works and the coin purse is in good condition although the zipper has come lose(the stitching let lose) in the center but could easily be fixed by someone who knows how to do that. Wow. Is this ever a great purse. Never seen one like this odd ball!great color of red and I guess it is plastic because it is a more or less soft rigid material. Made up in attached sections. So so do cool. Then you have this great metal Art Deco portion flaring out at the top and then this wonderful red Bakelite? Or plastic closure piece. Marked inner grip inside. It measures approximately 8 by 6.25 not counting metal spread. Inside it is sectioned and it fans open quite a bit. There is an attached matching red coin purse and it has the original mirror in the little inside pocket still coveted in the original tissue. I don't thin this was ever used. This coin purse is very unique. I have taken it to several jewelers and they have seen silver ones but never a gold one. It has been kept safely in a container for many years. It's late 1800 or early 1900's. Purchased from Sweeney Jewelry Company in Houston Texas. It has sapphire stone that shown in the picture that you press to open it. Inside is leather coin purse section and a pencil that does write and a wipe off pad. In excellent condition and beautiful decoration on the outside front. Has chain. Measures approx. 2 1/4 wide by 3 3/4" long and with chain its 8 1/2" long. Women would wear them on their belt. I'm sure this wasn't worn many times. Wonderful condition. This lot is for: A Groat or Four Pence from 1838 that comes with a tiny coin purse. We think that the purse is from the same era as they came in together. But we have nothing else to date the purse. Condition: The coin is worn around the edges but still legible. The purse is good considering it's age but does have damage to the back. The catch has been repaired at some point. The pouch's exterior is made from cloth fabric with printed Loteria cards on a black background. This pouch features El Diablito. La Corona, and El Pajaro on one side, and La Arana, La Rosa, and El Apache are featured on the other. The pouch measures about 6.5 inches side to side and 3 inches from top to bottom. 1892 WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXHIBITION- DOUBLE COIN PURSE A double coin purse or change purse measuring 3.6 inches by 1.6 inches. The leather body of the purse extends with contents to a depth of 1.1 inches. The underside leather is designed to look like snake or crocodile skin. The two silvered metal hinged lids carry embossed decoration. The larger one measures 2 inches by 1.3 inches and is marked Columbia at the top and Exhibition 1892 at the bottom. The smaller one measures 1 inch by 1.3 inches and has Spain on top and 1492 at the bottom. The two lids clip down firmly and are released by pressing in their individual catches at the front. CONDITION: Obvious signs of age and use but still remarkably good order with no splits to the leather section. There is significant tarnish and a little rusting to the lids and their frames. This auction if for 2 really adorable Winnie the Pooh items. The first one is a 12" stuffed plush Pooh. We purchased him for my granddaughter a few years ago at Disney World in Florida. She always loved Winnie the Pooh. He is still in good condition. The second Pooh is also a plush Pooh but is also a little change purse. He is brand new. I purchased this for my granddaughter to use for her lunch money but she told me grandma I think I'm a little too old for that kind. I hope someone out there will enjoy these great Pooh items.
