I bought this about 10 yrs ago at a local auction, I knew I had to have it for my house, the kitchen, I wanted always to have it hooked up and use it through those long cold winter nights here in Pa, just toss a log or two inside and the night is mine, both nostalgia and practicality, well that didn't happen but wasn't the thought nice. LOL. I remember using a wire brush to wipe away all the dirt, soot, build up from burning etc. wiped it down and have done nothing else to the stove since. I still love this stove for heat source and you can cook on top of it too, like boil water, stew pot. All pcs work and there are many different arms that open close, slide and vent. All is here no cracks anywhere it's on legs which makes ... moreit ideal for displaying on a fireproof designed floor bed, it looks amazing. It speaks a many late night story over coffee or belting down a shot after hours of shoveling the driveways and walkways. I can't give you an extact lbs but you'll need minimum of two just to lift and three or better to raise onto a flat bed of a truck, it fits into a van quite easily due to it's compact size. 29 inches tall and sets up 6 1/2 inches off the floor level on legs,sets within a floor space of 20 inches x 20 inches. Offered is a cast iron stove eye lifter. These were used to lift the eyes. Or lids, on old cook and heating stoves, as well as agitate the ash grates. The embossing on the handle is too weak for me to read so I am unable to connect it with a particular maker or era. It's obviously an older piece. The lifter is about 8-3/4 inches long and weighs about 7 ounces. I can't find the slightest damage beyond light use marks and some surface roughness. Likely from the original casting. The end of lifting lug is about 7/8 by 3/8 by 1/8 inches, and tapers. These can sometimes be ground a bit to fit a particular eye. The square end is about 1/2 by 5/8 inches. These were sometimes used to adjust internal oven vents in cookstoves as well. I've posted lots of pictures so you can look it over. The item is a Used Earth Wood Stove. Which I used in my A frame style home in Colorado. The square footage area of the home in which it heated was approximately 1500 Sq. I don't know a whole lot about this stove bought it to use! For an insert to put in a fireplace. So i can bank it so are wood would last longer. It has no blower or an ash pan. The gagets on front variable heat control i think and a draft knob. Hopefully you know more about this stove than i do. If i can't use it i would trade for a wood insert to go in are fireplace. "Appalachian Stove" Wood Burning Fireplace Insert + Blower & Catalytic Combuster
You are bidding on a used"Appalachian Stove" Brand Wood Burning Fireplace Insert with Blower and Catalytic Combuster. The unit measures 31 in. wide by 23 in. high by 27 in deep and is slightly trapezoidal in shape. The unit is being sold as the current owners wish to block the chimney. The unit works perfectly and can really pump out a lot of heat once the blower kicks in. The built in ash tray makes cleaning the ash very easy. The catalytic combuster may need replacing as the age of it is unknown. The only known defects are one of the internal bricks cracked when cleaning the ashes and the knob to control the fan speed broke off(see pictures) This does not impact performance in any way. Jotul 118 Replica Wood Stove, Wood Burner, Woodburner, Wood Furnace
This is a replica(not mfg by Jotul. But nearly identical) of the Jotul 118 wood stove. It was probably made in the late 1970s to early 1980s. We have been using it each winter since we bought our home in 2001(the stove was already in our home when we bought it) This has just been professionally torn apart. Sand blasted, resealed(new gaskets on lid and door) and painted by Troyer's Stove Repair, an Amish stove repair shop outside of Millersburg, OH for $160. Jake Jackson was a neighbor(his stove patent has his address very close ... moreto Bob) and he asked Bob to build him parts for an outdoor barbeque. After the project. He ended up selling Jake a license to build Fisher Stoves in Redmond OR, and loaned him $1000 for his first steel order. Jake later had a customer want a double door stove to view the fire, and brought the idea to Bob Fisher's shop. Bob wanted no part of more cast door patterns, and knew the stove wouldn't be as efficient as his 6 inch vented single door stoves. Public demand(and Bob's wife Carol) caused the need for a"Fireplace Model" Bob took a ride to Redmond and found Jake selling an adaptation of his stove with double doors. They agreed to terminate his license to build Fisher Stoves after Jake fulfilled his stove orders. This wasn't far from Springfield where they both lived, and Bobs"factory" was now in Eugene. So that's where the first ones were produced. Jake went on to build the Frontier Stove line and their friendship lasted until Jake's death many years later. Original Marm Morning Wood Stove Grates
Here is a full set of 3 grates for an original Locke. Warm Morning wood or coal burning stove. These fit the classic large sized stove. These grate are nearly impossible to find or if you do they are very expensive. These grates definitely fit the classic large sized Warm Morning. This was the top selling model for Locke. Above any other. People who own these stoves love them above any other stove. They are safe and long burning. The thermostat and airtight capabilities make them what I think are the most desirable wood stoves ever made. But there is one classic problem these stoves fall victim to. If you burn coal the grates have to be kept clean so adequate air can circulate. This burns out the grates long before any other part of the stove. If you burn wood. As most do with this stove, its really tempting to clean the grates when you shovel ... moreout the ashes. This is totally wrong to the point of suicide! If you never clean below the last inch of ash. The grates will stay perfect like this forever. I used these grates for 35 continuous years. Year in and year out. But I always left a cushion of ash whenever I cleaned out the main ash accumulation. If you leave a cushion of ash when you clean your stove. These will last. Finding these stoves in nearly perfect condition with ruined grates. Is as easy as falling off a log. I see 2 or 3 of them a year with ruined grates. Check the local Craigslist for yourself. But 9 out of 10 will have burned out grates. Last time I saw these grates for sale new. They were over $100 apiece. Here is a complete set. Ready to go. Nice cast iron wood burning parlor stove reproduction of a late 1800's stove and made in Taiwan. No cracks or chips. Measures about 26" by 23" at feet. 31" tall(excluding spire) with burning chamber about 18" wide and 12" deep with loading door on front and right side. Has 2 removable cooking lids on top(under chromed top) with chromed foot rest. There is some surface rust and chrome wear. No log grate included. 2 issues found. 1- tiny hole or two in the seal seperating top from chamber at vent/flue at back and high heat sealer(in caulking tube) can be purchased for under $10 at most fireplace stores. 2- the 2 mica/isinglass in bottom center front grate had small holes so I inserted some metal for protection and could be replaced if desired. Should clean up nicely. Base is separate from chamber and chrome pieces ... moreare removable. 2 men can load and I have a 2 wheel dolly to aid in loading. I will not be able to help lift. I don't really know what they are from/for, I was told by someone that they are most likely for use in a gas stove, but it seems to me they would also be good for use in a fireplace during the"off-season" or if you do not use your fireplace for fires. I do not know what they are made from. some type of composition material. Relatively heavy. There are six pieces in total. 2 long/large logs and 4 smaller pieces. The 4 smaller pieces are two sets of matching pairs. Dark gray in color to look like partially burnt wood. The large logs are 24 1/2" and 26 1/2" long.
