The grates are in perfect condition and a coal basket with one tooth missing and there is a coal chute. It has a finial with a swing top and cook plate underneath. This Burnside pot belly stove is sitting in a shed on her property. I am NO EXPERT on these things, so please conduct any research on your own if you need to know particulars not listed in this description. Primarily used down south. Virginia/West Virginia was where they were known for. How it ended up in Colorado would be the big question. This is a beautiful Vigilant 1977 Wood Burning Stove by Vermont Castings of Randolph. Vermont. It has been sandblasted and painted Hanover Red. The right back leg has been repaired. The glass in the door has been replaced. Have one that was taken out and replaced with new that I will include with sale. Gorgeous Antique Wood Stove! Cottage Home Must See
This is a beautiful old stove that is actually called Cottage Home. It is made by Southard Robertson& Co. in Peekskill. NY. It is able to be shipped since it falls within the UPS and Fed Ex Ground limits. It probably weighs about 30 lbs. It is absolutely beautiful and functional in the way that I have been using it. The last pic is a heater that I purchased at my local electrical supply store. It is a perfect fit once I place one brick for it to be vented in the perfect spot. I say perfect because you not only get the best venting but you barely see it. You have to be searching for it. It is lighter than other models of this vintage because the back of it has always had a piece of curved sheet metal. The stove pipe actually is made to go out that way. The original piece is still on it. I wouldn't want to make a fire in it indoors ... morebut one could use this instead of a chiminea outside. It is a gorgeous piece that will fit right in with Country French or Shabby Cottage. I bought it like I do for most things, to use in a photo shoot as part of a set design. It has a very ornate finial which I actually don't use. I have for the most part left that off or sometimes have replaced it with a small lamp finial. This auction is for the stove only. However, if one wants the heater to go with it I will sell it for what I paid for it. You can actually get one cheaper than mine at Bed Bath and Beyond or even on Amazon. I paid extra to have a metal one instead of plastic. The heater warms up the stove as well generating a very comfortable heat source. The electrical cord is not visible as I run it out where the stove pipe would go. I can ship the stove but welcome local pick up. It has new gaskets on door and lid(I installed the gaskets after the pictures) Comes with 1 Side Shelf that is not on the stove in the pictures and 2 glove warmer rods. The flue plate collar can go either straight up. Or towards the back(as I have it in the picture) It is a non catalytic stove. It has an automatic damper door with a lever and chain. Not sure when it was made, but it has the date 1979 stamped in the cast iron in the firebox. I am located in Enfield Connecticut. I will not ship the stove, it must be picked up by buyer. I just took it out of my fireplace and put it in my garage, so it ready to load.

Item# 201 Vintage C.G. WOOD Co. GIRARD, PA. Tin metal"MAGIC GLOW" Electric Range. C.G. Wood was the precursor to GIRARD TOYS. Child's Toy four glowing burner electric stove with a right side opening oven door. Door to oven is hard to open and close but it does open, needs a little adjusting though. Four hard rubber"wheel" knobs turn each burner individually"on" or"off" Light bulb inserts into the back of the unit- easily unscrew two screws of side panel for access to the lamp. I used a standard 40 watt bulb for the effect you see in the photos, light bulb not included. Instructions on side of range tell you how to access rear panel and says you can use either 40 or 60 watt bulb. VERY clever design, turning knobs lets you adjust the coil brightness like it is heat, and you can turn some off and still ... morehave some glowing! Looks lifelike! Back of stove panel lights up also when plugged in. See photos. Red door handles and black wheel k nobs all present. Mechanism on knobs a little stiff/springy but they do operate the burners. Everything original on this guy, old style plug and black vintage cord, use caution. Color is almond or a yellowish off-white, with red trim. Surface paint missing in areas, rust, paint color irregularities, this is a true vintage piece. Measures approximately 12"x12"x8" Oven opening inside cavity is about 6"x 6" Like most items I rescue. This item had a prior home. It will show signs of use, age and wear in varying degrees- which is part of true vintage appeal. I love old things and adore what I rescue, but I realize not everyone feels the same way. Photos are the most reliable representation of the actual item for sale. For sale and pick up in Winston Salem/ Kernersville. NC Atlantic Majik Automatic Wood Stove& Range No 122. Red Mountain Birmingham Stove& Range Co. Birmingham. Ala. Missing inside grate where wood would be placed off the bottom of the stove. Has been stored indoors. Requires cleaning. Can be an ornamental table and storage. Originally intended for h eating. Cooking and baking. Use in this manner at your own risk. It is being sold as an antique. That said. It has a large top opening that would have allowed for dutch ovens to be placed inside for baking and loading with wood. Front opening as well. Large surface would have been used for cooking with pots and pans as d esired. I use a wood stove in my home as an end table and unobvious storage area and placed a lamp over the chimney opening. You can also put a pipe in it and place against ... morethe wall as to look real. 2'5" depth x 1'7.5" width x 2'5" height. Height includes chimney opening for exhaust pipe fitting. Has four(4) feet. One has a broken slot(see pic) Was probably moved without removing feet and the weight will break the slots. see picture) So remove the feet of all cast iron stoves before moving them. Feet adds an additional 6" to height if used. This is one of two wood stoves I kept from my grandmother's house. It worked when it was last used decades ago. Her house was heated by the stoves in each room. She never had central heating. No cracks or other defects other than surface rust and time as far as I can determine.
