US Army ? Antique Vintage Military paint Suitcase Trunk Case
I do not know if this is a military issue suit case or for civilian use. It is an Old find. It looks it has been repainted in the past in Olive Green. It has metal panels. Leatherstrip handles and brass locking devices. I do not know at what State this suitcase was made but the main lock has a New Jersey factory logo. What you see it what you will get. It is a FULL size case and i can get actual dimensions upon request. It is in good condition with many Oil Can dents here and there.

I do not know the history of this item.whether the Reddy Kilowatt man was on the case to begin with or if the decals had been placed on there from someone at the school. All of its hinges. Latches and corners which are metal are well connected, but the trunk has wear. The exterior is a hard shell with signs of wear. I'm not sure what its made of. Has been in the family since the early 1970's. Features: Small wooden chest of square design with lovely red/brown lithograph paper bearing beautiful designs. Inside there is a removable. 2 compartment top tray. Tray rails are solid and existing. Tray fits firmly and is supported. All metal stays are solid and in place. Paper covering is original. No mildew or musty smells. Metal features are not damaged nor bent. Lid closes firm and completely aligned. Hinge tight. Straight and completely aligned. Inside. Beautiful Refinished Dome Top Steamer Trunk with Working Lock and key and full Interior My husband and I have refinished over 135 trunks. Each one is a treasure of its own. The history of each trunk dates back as early as the 1 800's. Each has its own unique story. While owning a trunk of your own. You can enhance the tradition and legacy with your own family. This is absolutely beautiful very nice decorative refinished dome top hump back steamer trunk from the late 1800's. The particular d imensions for this are 32" length. 19" width and 23" height. This beautiful trunk would make a great trunk for a college student to keep stuff in, or for someone to store old photo books in. To begin the restoration of this trunk we began by taking off the old canvas covering and all paper on the inside. Next we sanded the wood on ... morethe entire trunk. On the outside and on the inside. After all the sanding was done, we then applied coats of Polyurethane as the finishing touch to give the wood a nice shine. The trunk has some typical small stress marks and small stress cracks which are common in wood of this age. Next we painted all metal parts of the trunk with a black or gold leaf paint. We then attached 2 new Amish made black leather hand l es to this beautiful trunk. With this particular trunk we installed a new lock with 2 working keys. The interior of this wonderful trunk under the dome has a hidden compartment section. Notice picture. The lid also has the original picture which is in good condition. You can drop down the door to access this area in the hidden compartment which is also shown in a picture. You will find the original stay to keep the lid open. Finally on the bottom of the trunk we painted all the black on that too. Also on the bottom are the four original casters. This trunk has a very nice interior. This is a great Victorian salesman sample or dolls chest. It measures app. 12" by 7 1/2" by 7" It is domed top. It is missing its handles and some of the paper has rubbed off but all in all it is in beautiful condition considering its age. it has the original hinges and lock. It has a most unusual patriot picture applied to the top. We owe Allegence to No Crown" We are not sure of its origin but it definitely appears of the period. It has the original inside tray and part of a decal on the truck inside top. There is some flaking on the inside consistent with age. Please see the pictures. This lovely antique box measures about 8 1/2" tall x almost 10 1/2" wide and it is 11" deep. There is no foolery here! It HAD 70 years of dust on it and after a light cleaning here it is. This is an 1850's antique camel back wooden steamer trunk that spent some time on the WHITE STAR LINE's RMS OLYMPIC in 1927. This truck has 4 large CUNARD WHITE STAR LINE luggage claim stickers dated April 24th 1927 and the name Emily Whitehead on the label. The farmhouse estate sale that many of my current listed items are from were owned by the family of J. J. Whitehead. An adventurer/explorer/photographer that I am listing an antique Kalapalo Indian hunting bow. This man was an avid photographer and explorer and was traveling Brazil sometime in the 20's-30's ... morebased on photos. He looks like the original Indiana Jones to me. Photos include pictures of his wife and I believe this is her trunk. This is a very interesting story and if you have time. Please read that antique bow auction. Here is what appears to be his traveling trunk marked Whitehead that was left on the RMS Olympic and had to be delivered to New York as abandoned luggage. Besides being a great story with the RMS Olympia tie in. This is a beautiful old crusty camelback! It has a great old look with large knob rivets and hand wrough iron handles. Original paper lining and a few personal letters from the owners inside. I have not read these but there are about 30 letters all from the 1930's. Measures 28 1/2" wide x 20" deep x 21 1/2" high. There is no questioning the stickering. They are absolutely 1927 RMS Olympic tags and show a delivery charge to New York. Original tag is in place too. Great old paper lining. V758(please see close-up ... morepic provided of this company inscription) Also on the front of the lock above the name"Eagle" is the company hallmark of the Eagle bird with spread wings which was the period logo at that time(see close-up pic provided of Eagle hallmark inscribed) The Pin-Tumbler lock appears to be in very good period condition with some wear to surfaces and to finish as is expected with age(see pics) This antique steamer travel trunk/chest pin-tumbler Eagle hasp-lock has a key which matches the lock and is original to lock and fits into lock properly opening lock(see pics) This key has the"Eagle Lock Co. embossed signature and the Terryville Conn. singing as well, also has the hallmark eagle embossed on it(see closeup pic of key provided) it is the original key to this pin-tumbler lock. Incised into this key on the reverse side is the name of the old lock company which owned it and it reads: EHRLICH LOCK EXPERT 71 BROAD STREET PROV. R.I. The key fits well into the lock and opens and closes it well-I have included pics of the lock opened and separated with both the back and the front of the lock for your inspection, since I am not an expert in locks I have not attempted to open the

Pre Civil War Antique Leather Steamer Trunk. Read the Appraisal attached!!!!
For sale is a very rare antique steamer trunk. The trunk is very large and completely covered in brown leather. The leather has some cracks but for 150 years old. The leather is considered in good shape. There are rolling wheels on the bottom and wood slats on the top. The top also had the words"warranted sole leather" imprinted in the leather. This trunk also has possible ties to historic NY(brooklyn) politician JB Wass, who was a consultant to president Ulysses S Grant. If you search the web you can find reports sanctioned by Grant where JB Wass made recommendations on locations of illegal liquor distilleries in Brooklyn) The side of the trunk has personalized label complete with name and address. The inside of the trunk had an incredibly rare drop down compartment with a green envelope type thing attached with gold trim decoration ... moreand logo. Again you will not find a trunk like this. With a history and such an ornate design anywhere. It could use a restoration or would be a great conversation starter as it it stands now. For those out there who convert these to coffee tables, YES the top is flat and this would make an amazing coffee table. All you need is a sheet of glass. Nice Antique Canvas Trunk with Antique Clothing
This is an incredible find! It is an antique travel trunk with some antique clothing inside and it seems to be made of canvas over cardboard? and it has an ancient leather(broken) handle on the top(and there is also a strip on the bottom) and some leather pieces on the corners as well(one is missing. The inside is paper lined on each end and the cover is too- and then the canvas is on the rectangular bottom and on the cover as well. It measures 22" x 11.5" and it is 8" tall. It has the most wonderful look to it and I was told that it is from the late 1800's but I don't know that for sure. It is in amazing condition for its age except it has discolored with age. It has some soil spots, marks, gouges, dings, lots of wear, rust spots, tears, water marks, etc. but even with all of these things that I have mentioned it is ... morestill a very beautiful piece and I can't say enough about how beautifully it displays. It has a wonderful red, white& blue American Express Co. decal on one end and it looks like someone wrote Belfast on it and then there is a label with a hand written name on it with very beautiful writing but it is hard to tell what the name is. This rectangular antique case is an incredible find and this is also one of those antiques that keeps on getting better and better with age. It is a knockout! Gorgeous!
