The front of the handle is ornately decorated in the Heraldic Pattern. The handle is engraved with a scripted monogram. The back of the handle has a partial maker’s mark(Whiting lion passant) for the Whiting Manufacturing Co. and is also marked‘STERLING’ and‘T’ The Heraldic flatware pattern was issued in 1880. This very charming Delft tea caddy has two hand painted scenes- as the servant brings his master the tea and as the master sits back and enjoys his tea while he is surrounded by plants. Trees, flowers and a bug or two. The neck of the caddy has been restored and the metal cover mechanism is secure. A metal girdle accepts the cover as it is screwed on and off of the caddy. Antique 19thC English Mahogany Tea Caddy c/w Original Working Key
Measuring 6" wide. 4" deep and 4" high. There is a small historical repair to the back, as pictured and front as can be seen. Being over 150 years old is not much to show for such age. This is a very cute caddy that along with the original lids and ebony knobs is quite charming.A very good example of this type, the lid closes sweetly and hinges well. As this Caddy is over 100 years old it will be sent with the correct certification as an antique that has not been altered in anyway as such there will be no customs to pay in the United States. 1850s Egyptian Revival 1850’s Egyptian Revival Made during the Egyptian Revival period of the mid 19th century. This handsome sugar bowl features a sphinx head finial on its lid. This piece was made by The Taunton Silver Plate Co. of Taunton Massachusetts. Nowadays. Many people are using antique sugar bowl to hold their tea, as they are the perfect size for a tea caddy. This one stands 7 1/2” 19 cm) tall and has a width, handle to handle of 6 5/8” 17 cm) There is a lovely chased foliate design with heart shaped cartouche on both sides. RARE Scottish National Exhibition GLASGOW EMPIRE Brass Hinged Lid TEA CADDY 1938 Description: PLEASE SEE ALL MY PHOTOGRAPHS: This is a rare commemorative piece- made to celebrate the Scottish National Exhibition(or Glasgow Empire Exhibition) held in 1938 at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow. These items are now getting harder to find- especially such unusual items as this 1930s tea caddy. It is in fairly good condition for its age and displays really well in your collection of Exhibition Commemorative wares. The caddy is made of a shiny brass- with a hinged lid(as you can see in my photographs- please feel free to click on the images to supersize them for close up inspection. As they form part of my description! The caddy has a cute little finial on the lid to help you open it easily- and this takes the form of a little stylised brass thistle. ... moreOn the front is the logo of the Exhibition- a Scottish lion rampant. Plain decorative banding top and bottomw and sitting on three little balls feet. The interior is nice and clean. And for the storage of loose tea is tinned inside. The caddy is generally scratch free and has no nasty major dents(a couple of very minor dings on the lid. As shown in my photographs- but in no way disfiguring and only really noticeable on close up inspection) it has a lacquer coating on it so no need to polish it up all the time. A good quality piece with has been all hand made by a craftsman and was probably sold at the exhibition as a souvenir. You certainly do not see these Empire Exhibition Tead Caddies often- so a rare opportunity to add this special piece to your collection of memorablia. Measurements: 15 cm in height with a diameter of 10 cm. Antique Sheffield plate tea caddy spoon with old mend circa 1820
Antique Sheffield plate caddy spoon. Someone. A long time ago, mended this spoon with a strip of solid silver. It must have been much treasured. You can see its mend on the reverse- see picture two. To me this is rather charming. There is a small amount of wear round the edge. As is so often the case with proper Sheffield plate, but it actually isn't bad on this. A caddy spoon is unusual in Sheffield plate. Circa 1820. Approximate size- 6.5cm long x 4cm wide. VINTAGE TEA CADDY SOUVENIR SPOON ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE OF AUSTRALIA This vintage Flying Doctor Souvenir spoon is is 7cm long and 4.5cm across the bowl. It is chrome plated and on the handle has an enamelled Flying Doctor crest surrounded by the words'Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia' On the bowl is a clock face set at 4.00. It belonged to my mother and is in excellent preloved condition. Ready to take its place in your collection or to be used for its original purpose.
