Description This woven textile is 18" in length and the width is 10.5" We bought it in Peru in the 1970's and it's been in storage for ... morethe last 25 years since we closed our import store. It is mounted on cardboard but will need to be remounted since I have to bend the flexible cardboard to fit into a large priority mail box. It has holes. Tears, thinning areas, soiled and frayed areas, etc. but would be considered to be in fair condition for a textile that is probably around 900 years old. Please see closeup photos. The price on the back of this piece from 25 years ago is $125. Shipping will cost $10 via priority USPS mail with Delivery Confirmation to US addresses only and will be shipped within 1 business day after cleared funds are received. If more than one item is purchased on the same day they will be shipped together and extra shipping is $1 per item. We accept Paypal only. Please pay within 3 days of purchase. Thank you for looking!

Pre-Columbian NICARAGUA/COSTA RICA BOWL LEG HEAD 60mm/2.4" PAINTED Ppd-USA
POSTPAID IN USA! PRE-COLUMBIAN PAINTED CERAMIC HEAD FRAGMENT and BOWL LEG. 60mm or 2-3/8"h, Probably from Nicaragua or Costa Rica One Pre-Columbian Painted Ceramic Head Fragment 60mm or 2-3/8" high. With features that may be that of a monkey with black mask, red mouth and ears. This would have been one of probably 3(making it a tripod bowl) or possibly 4 legs supporting a bowl. It would rest on the chin area and the bowl would be attached on the ridge atop the head and the back of the head(that area is open now) Imagine that ridge on the head as parallel to the ground to see the level that the head would have been at. The bowl would have been 6 to 8 inches in diameter and also painted in similar colors. There is some chipping on the nose, upper lip and under the ears/headdress. Many objects that are offered as from Costa Rica actually ... morecome from Nicaragua as they are similar due to the fact that those people did not have the modern borders as we know them today. Pre-Columbian MAYAN LARGE CEREMONIAL VASE 9+" h. ULUA VALLEY, HOND. PPD-USA!!!
PRE-COLUMBIAN MAYAN CEREMONIAL VASE FROM ULUA VALLEY. HONDURAS; LATE CLASSIC PERIOD MAYA CULTURE[650-950AD] 9-1/4" HIGH, 8" DIAMETER, 11" WIDTH INCLUDING THE LUGS ONE Pre-Columbian Large Mayan Ceremonial Cylinder Vase from Ullua Valley. Honduras; Late Classic Period Maya Culture(650-950AD) measuring 9-1/4" high, 8" diameter and 11" width including the aviform bird head lugs; those lugs are painted red and cream and have painted plumage/neck-ware under each one which is the reason for the third image. So that you can see that feature; the first two images show both sides of the vase and the stylized figural panels wherein a hierarchical figure sits facing right and their headdress flows from their heads back and down. Immediately above and below are glyph bands and then geometrical design fret bands in dark red. ... moreOne above and two below. The bottom of the vase actually stops at the first of the two bands below and the vase sits up on a one inch plus rim leaving a space between the bottom of the vase and the surface it sits on. In all three image one can see the"step" inward before the bottom band. These images were taken with flash and that has lightened the more basically orange color of the vase. The light helps show the details but not the rich natural color of the object which is deeper. The interior below the paint along the rim is painted and then with a thin black line around but mostly just orange walls down to the bottom where the paint has deteriorated and the surface is open. F10) There has been restoration and there is a section along the top rim that was pulled out by someone mishandling the vase. It has been secured back in place awaiting full restoration. This is a large and incredible Mayan Ceramic Vessel that needs to be restored to original splendor and placed in a private collection or donated to a museum collection. This piece was examined and released by government officials at both ends of its journey here to this country. That was long ago enough that p

SALE Inca Treasures Ltd Pre Columbian Inca figural ocarina pottery, artifact art
This is a very nice representation of a pre Columbian Inca Figural pottery flute/ocarina artifact. In the shape of a ruler figure. It still has about 4 to 5 clear great notes or tones when played. Better than my whistling. I purchased online and cannot be certain it is authentic. It was represented to be. It appears old with black clouds on surface and earthy pungent smell when inside dampened. This goes along with being authentic. I don't see manganese deposits but they are often missing depending where they were. I think it may be authentic or a very old replica nicely done. A great conversation piece. There is a marking on the back. I don't know it it significant or a mark from the artist. Since I cannot guarantee this is not a replica. I am reducing to a low SALE price but the work is great and it appears genuine. It does not ... morelook like a tourist reproduction. So buy as is and you can check further if it actually is real, then you have a nice item at a very reasonable price and plays music too. Culture Inca Culture. Pre Columbian Fettered Snake Stone Carving (Circa 900-1519 AD)
A Pre Columbian Fettered Snake Stone Carving Sculpture of Quetzalcoatl. Circa 900-1519 AD. Measuring 3 ½“ x 2 ¾“ Approx. this little heavy stone is an excellent example of ancient artistry. It has what it looks like to be jade per eyes and there is a piece missing at the end of the rattle. But the craftsmanship skills demonstrated on this piece are unmatched. I am a collector with over 20 years of experience in the hobby; I have acquired many interested pieces around the world. Anywhere from private collections to highly known auction houses. In the Postclassic period(900– 1519 AD) the worship of the feathered serpent deity was based in the primary Mexican religious center of Cholula. It is in this period that the deity is known to have been named"Quetzalcoatl" by his Nahua followers. In the Maya area he was approximately equivalent to Kukulcan and Gukumatz. Names that also roughly translate as"feathered serpent" in different Mayan languages. In the era following the 16th-century Spanish Conquest a number of sources were written that describe the god"Quetzalcoatl" and relates him to a ruler of the mythico-historic city of Tollan called by the names"Ce Acatl" Topiltzin" Nacxitl" or"Quetzalcoatl" Also among the Aztecs. Whose beliefs are the best documented in the historical sources, Quetzalcoatl was related to gods of the wind and knowledge. He was also the patron god of the Aztec priesthood, of learning and knowledge. Quetzalcoatl was

Pre-Columbian Nayorit Figure
This is a very nice piece that I purchased at auction about 20 years ago. It came with paperwork and also an add from Kahula which it was featured in but I no longer have that material.I actually had sold this at auction at O'gallerie in Portland for $900+ but didn't get paid so it came back to me.it is approximately 6 inches tall about 3 inches wide and three inches across. It is not a new reproduction of an old piece it is real. Make a nice piece to start or add to your collection.I believe the appraisal on it was about $600 over 20 years back so today I think a real value would be about $1200 Please make me an offer if your interested only item I have from this era& many bills to pay Happy Memorial Day May God Bless.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Feog4d71f%2B0a7%3E-146a5942a4b-0x106-

Pre Columbian erotic pottery 800 AD -1100 AD RARE #1st edit book W/examples
Pre- Colombian. PERU Erotic Pottery and This rare book by Hoyle 1965 in Very Good Condition depicts in color these examples in color, cataloged in the centerfolds. It gives history, origin, tribal customs, location of find, digs, maps, civilization info and dates the pottery. Obtained in peru in the 1960.S and brought to the states these perfect pieces are museum quality flawless with exception of a chip on the nose ring as seen in picture. The book tells all, its numbered 247 of 3000 that exist. The first books are hand made and have real color pictures attached to heavy pages and are personally type numbered editions as in this example.Experts have seen and authenticated these pieces these are guaranteed the real deal. No certificate exists as the university professors were guests many times where they were displayed in the 60,s and 70,s.I ... moream the second owner Ron kasim who brought them from Peru is alive and still lives nearby. Almost all the erotic pottery was destroyed as mentioned in the book. The new land being civilized by the church and its missions had 0 tolerance for erotic pottery and the book was to preserve a historical evidence[witness] the government saw as embarrassing and their goal was to make this evidence go away. historical suppression and standing orders to destroy erotic objects was the daily business. To find unbroken full pieces is well. I have seen few others sure one has a break crack and a small chip but to be this near mint condition is a real find. the painting[coloring] has been preserved and they were prized decorations and not used by the natives. They are not pipes they look to be but that was not the purpose.

He traveled to South America twice a year from the 1960s-1990s and visited many ruins and historical sites– that’s about 40 years of collecting. ... moreHe had very close friends in South America. He purchased many pieces from professional auction houses and many still have stickers on them from the auctions. If there is any paperwork with an item. PRE COLUMBIAN FIGURE MEXICO FEMALE POTTERY CLAY 7 INCHES AUTHENTIC ANCIENT
PRE COLUMBIAN FEMALE FIGURE POTTERY MEXICO AUTHENTIC ANCIENT This Mexican Pre Columbian pottery female figure is 7 inches high and is possibly a variant of Jalisco or Nayarit but I am not an expert and cannot be sure of the culture. It will not stand by itself and is supported for the photos. Iti s missing an arm. Lower leg and foot and another foot. or whatever it had at the ends of the legs) The arm is complete with no hand just a rounded structure. Ears and nose are abnormally large with the head sloping backwards at an angle. Minute reflective crystaline structures in the clay and dark areas that seem to be manganese deposits. There is a slight chip on the back of the head. This is an authentic figure and not a reproduction and I have had it for over 40 years. Figure would look well mounted and standing upright.

PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR NECKLACE OF SPINDLE WHORLS BEADS ANCIENT
PRE COLUMBIAN NECKLACE ECUADOR SPINDLE WHORLS ANCIENT Spindle whorls used in textile production are linked to female activityand female identity. Some have aritual significance also and this necklace seems to have a baby wrapped in a blanket hanging from the bottom. I do not know if this was the original arrangement or not as it has been restrung on knotted modern black cord with the"baby" hanging from mono filament loop. This 19 inch necklace is composed of 24 pottery clay spindle whorls from anient Ecuador. It is from a private collection and the owner purchased it in Ecuador in this condition many years ago. The necklace was in with La Tolita fragments 300 B.C. 500 A.D. and some Jamacoaque fragments 500 A.D. to 1000 A.D. so I cannot positivitely identify the culture. The whorls have been strung mostly alternating bell shaped ... moreand round disks some with incised designs and a few(2) ball shaped whorls. Many bell shaped whorls have original red pigment with the larger ones measuring 1 1/8 inch wide and one at 1 1/4 inches wide. About 7 have damage and are chipped but retain their original shape and I have tried to picture some. The remainiing 17 are in excellent condition considering the age with no or very little visible damage. The"baby" as I call it measures 3 inches long and is smooth on the back. You can see the face and arms but the body seems trussed. 1?RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Feog4d72f%2B%3E%3B1%3F-146a88a8a1f-0x113-

Pre-Columbian Terracotta 1923 William Niven Provenance! Mayan San Miguel Amantla
Two terra-cotta figures found at San Miguel Amantla in 1921. Includes a copy of the 1923 invoice. William Niven(1850–1937) was a Scottish mineralogist and archeologist. Who worked in the United States and Central America in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. During a prospecting tour for the American Museum of Natural History he discovered prehistoric ruins(later named Omitlán) northwest of Chilpancingo in the state of Guerrero, also the celebrated Placeres del Oro sepulcher in 1910. His Guerrero collections are now in the American Museum of Natural History, the Peabody Museum of Harvard University, and elsewhere. In 1911 Niven discovered ancient ruins buried beneath volcanic ash near Azcapotzalco just north of Mexico City. The following 20 years consisted of archeological exploration in the Valley of Mexico and through an arrangement ... morewith the Mexican government was able to fund his digging by the sale of artifacts. Niven established a private museum in Mexico City, later moved to Tampico. He recovered the first in a series of unusual stone tablets bearing pictographs from his digs at San Miguel Amantla, Azcapotzalco, and elsewhere in the Valley of Mexico in 1921. Niven was a founding member of the New York Mineralogical Club, an honorary life member of the American Museum of Natural History, a member of the Scientific Society Antonio Alzate in Mexico, and a fellow in the American Geographic Society of New York and the Royal Society of Arts in London. Pre-Columbian stylized brown jaguar on its back. Guaranteed .Authentic
NOTE: $3.50 COVERS ALL SHIPPING. REGARDLESS OF NUMBER OF BEADS OR DESTINATION In the 1960's a large number of caches of brown and black incised beads. Or spindle whorls, were found in digs of the Manabi culture of Ecuador. Dated 500 B.C. to 500 A.D. The greatest numbers were simply decorated with circles. Dots and lines. Instead of those we collected those with the artistic renderings of the running. Swimming, crawling, slithering, flying, and walking creatures that inhabited the jungles of Ecuador some 2000 years ago. Each is uniquely distinctive, and with a little imagination they make beautiful necklaces. Earrings and bracelets. All were filled with a clay- like substance that accentuated the incised designs. We are offering a selection of these. The finest we've seen, and selected from thousands. It is believed that the larger ... moreones were spindle whorls. And the smaller ones strung as beads. This is a stylized brown jaguar on its back bead. Showing both sides. 14.12 mm. x 12.60 mm. For descriptions. We are following information from the two books on the beads. Frederick W. Shaffer- Indian Designs From Ancient Ecuador. 1979, and Dumbarton Oaks- Studies in Pre-Columbian Art and Archeology. 12, symbolism of miniature art from Ecuador. Johannes Wilbert. Handsome pre-Columbian Canchero Corn Popper Vessel with TL Test Document! RARE
This form of the vessels is very popular among collectors and is very rarely offered. Some experts describe it as Corn Popper other than vessels for water and fertility rituals. The surface is white with lime and the handle is decorated with a very finely crafted warriors or priests head. He wears a high Helmet; the facial features are strongly reminiscent of the Moche ceramics. Some small and a large abrasion on the back. The grip was broken and reattached. A special and beautiful ceramics, because so far I've seen mostly Moche Popper, one can see that this form of culture is not dependent, but over long periods found their use. Tumbaga is an alloy comprised mostly of gold and copper. It has a significantly lower melting point than gold or copper alone. It is harder than copper. But maintains malleability after being pounded. Tumbaga can be treated with a simple acid, like citric acid, to dissolve copper off the surface. What remains is a shiny layer of 23-karat gold on top of a harder, more durable copper-gold alloy
