VINTAGE RAWCLIFFE PEWTER CLOWN
Up for bid is a vintage RAWCLIFFE PEWTER CLOWN by R. Davis dated 1979. This item is in wonderful condition and is marked on the bottom with RAWCLIFFE and the designer R. Davis with date. It is a clown in a boat with oars and also has wheels that turn and roll. It is 2" tall by 2.5" long by 1.5" wide. Will also include the small oval glass mirror with it to sit on. These are rare Hudson Fine Pewter figurines. The first one is Megabyte made in 1989#5044 and stamped Hudson fine pewter USA and measures 1 1/2" tall x 1 1/2" wide. The second one is Virus also made by Hudson fine pewter USA and# 5049 it measures 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" These are rare and are great desk pieces. They have magnets on the back of them. Which overlap like real scales instead of being an illusion created by cross-hatch texturing. The sculpture is generally in very good shape, the only noticeable smoothing occuring on the outside of the dragon's right leg; however, there is a spot of what appears to be corrosion on the underside of the left wing, and there are two very small blemishes on the underside of the right wing. You are bidding on two identical Pewter bookends. Or statues, each weighing a couple of tenths of an ounce less than 3 pounds each,in another words,do not buy these if thy spouse has an arm like Nolan Ryan and throws things when angered. They have marble bases, and the statue top to bottom is 7 1/2 inches tall. The pewter top is 4 1/2 inches tall, and the marble bottom is 3 inches tall. I put in the title of this listing Egyptian( Aztec( because i'm not sure what era or country the ladies represent. Other than the felt on the bottom(there to keep the bookends from slipping,3 pounds + felt = no slip) being a little"rubbed"there are no defects to declare. 8 Small Gertz Steins with pewter lids that work. Brought back from Germany in late 50's by my father who was stationed there. Pictures show well the steins and their colors and artwork. They stand 6" tall and 2.5" in diameter. Each has a different village scene depicted. They display well and would be a great addition to any stein collection. I have not found any chips or cracks other than glazing distress because of there age.overall. In very good shape. Since it has a hinged lid, it is considered a beer stein, straight-sided, plain grey stoneware. These types of steins are in wide use throughout Germany and Bavaria in particular. Their shape has changed little in the last 130 years. Most are salt glazed. Which makes them ideal for use in beer gardens and inns because they can take a lot of heavy use. KAYSERZINN #4039 PEWTER PITCHER HORSE HEAD Yr 1898. GERMAN MILITARY INSCRIPTION
This is an antique pewter pitcher from the German Kayserzinn company with an inscription dated 1898 in the Jugendstil Art Nouveau style that has been in our family for decades. The serial number is stamped on the bottom is 14 4039 P with the Kayserzinn company's name. What makes this eye-catching piece unique is the inscription indicating that the pitcher was awarded as a German military trophy in the Wilhelmine period. It reads: The Best Marksman Non-Commissioned Officer's School. J ülich 1898" my translation) The piece is 14 3/4ins(32.5cm) high and hasn't been polished in years to preserve the patina. Up for sale is an old set of Cups and Balls magic trick that is made of pewter. These are several years old and were bought at a magic shop many years ago. Each cup is 2 1/4 inches tall and the mouth is about 2 1/8 inches wide. The balls are made of some sort of green cord and appear to be handmade. The penny in the picture is for size reference. Antique Japanese Pewter Sake Cups With Kanji Inscription
Two antique pewter( sake cups. The question mark is an indication of I'm not really positive of their composition as they could even be lead considering their weight and softness. Both cups measure just over 3 1/2" approx 9 cm) in diameter and 1 1/8" approx 2.9 cm) in height and wear 2.5 ounces each. The first cup. Depicting the sun rising over a board fence with flowers, carries a six character Kanji inscription along the lower edge of the bowl, and another 8 character Kanji inscription encircling the underside of the bowl. Other similiar cups with the underside inscriptions generally are commemorative. The second cup depicts two men with brooms under a tree with the sea shore behind them and the rising sun in the distance. There are no insciptions. It appears to be quite old based on the tarnishing. The underside of the base has a brass color and appears to have very fine machining marks where it was turned.
