Gongs at the top of the hour with a half-hour bell strike. Manufactured by WM. L. Gilbert Clock Co. Winsted, Conn. U.S.A. The patent dates on the label are April 28, 1896 and May 9, 1911. I believe that this particular Delano clock with the Normandy Chimes may have been manufactured around 1913. All appears original except for the keys which are new. The larger(no. 5) key fits the winding arbors at the 8 and the 4. These arbors wind the spring and the strike. The smaller key fits the winding arbor at the 12. Chicago, Illinois 8-day Movement Strikes on the Hour This is a beautiful pendulum wall clock manufactured in the very early part of the 20th century; I have seen these dated anywhere from 1900-1920s. I believe the case is oak. The hands and pendulum look like copper but I believe they are actually brass. The clock was very dusty when I opened it up. I believe it is in decent working order; I was able to wind it quite easily although there is no key with it(I used one of my own standard clock keys) It gonged the hour and tick-tocked away for awhile- I did not wind much because I am no antique clock expert and feel fortunate when I cause no harm to these things. The ingredients are also listed and the Canco Trade Mark- Logo is present as well. The can is the standard 4 3/4" 12 oz. size. The top is solid. The can has not been pierced and was a advertising item which I acquired from a sales rep who worked for Pepsi in the 1950's and 1960's. Pristine condition. VINTAGE MISSION CYRUS PCM II CD PLAYER GOOD WORKING CONDITION
Classic piece of British Hi-Fi by Mission. Cyrus PCM II Found in my Uncles house clearance who was a aficionado of all things Hi Fi back then. Player approx. 23 years old has original pass sticker from Mission in July 1990! Cosmetically few minor blemishes to casework but to be expected from a player this age. More importantly it plays perfect tested on several long CD's and played through no problem. Uses the much respected and loved TDA1541A chips and CDM 4 transport. Musically I wasn't expecting much considering the age but then this player was highly regarded in its time and it certainly doesn't let itself down in this modern age. Very engaging and involving sound. Nice bass extension, midrange and well defined treble and soundstaging, I was surprised! 2 very small issues to know about: Once when first time from cold on pressing ... moreopen drawer the draw tray popped out and then went smartly back in! this happened twice but then never again when the machine was warmed up and in a test run of over 6 hours and listening to over 10 CD's tried to make it happen again but it never did. Might be a from cold issue. Secondly the back track select button(say you are listening to track 3 and want to go back to track 2) is intermitment again this happens when from cold. These issues are very minor but I want to mention them in the listing, bearing in mind I don't think this player has had very little use over the past 15 years its probably a warm up issue, can't find any other issues with this lovely player. Loads of information on these players from the internet. Has the PSX Din socket at back so you can upgrade using a Mission PSX power supply at a later stage. Lovely clear steady display which can easily be read from a distance. Digital coaxial out and the usual RCA phono's. Has non-captive figure of eight mains lead as well which could be upgraded as well. This is quite a hefty player weighing in at over 5kgs without packaging. The style was rustic. Which fit the character of the Spanish Revival Architecture and Rancho style homes. The Monterey line was initiated by an interior decorator, who saw a piece in a movie set and believed that there was a need for a furniture line that accompanied the Spanish or Mission Style homes being built in the area. Frank and George Mason made the initial design sketches. In late 1929 they started the Monterey furniture line. Twenty four designs were part of the initial run. And this expanded to about 120 different pieces within four years. There were at least three different bedroom sets. Six dining room sets, sixteen different upholstery pieces, sixteen end tables, occasional and coffee tables. And four different desks and secretaries.
