This item is a PAIR of small bowls from China which I believe to be antiques dating back 100-200 years or more. Since I have no expertise in these. I can make no representations except what I see. Bidding here is for TWO bowls as a pair at the bid price. My photos show as best I can what these are. I am open to an offer for one bowl but have now had two purchasers who claimed they thought the price was for both so I am now CHANGING this listing so that the ONE PRICE bid buys BOTH bowls; it is NOT double the price but the price bid. I am setting a minimum $250 opening bid because I have been offered that amount and believe that the final sale price for the pair ought to be at least that sum. I cannot guarantee age, antiquity or period of manufacture or design here but can only describe what I see and gather from other listings might be the ... moretechnical Chinese name. So, what I see are that the bowls are delicate, almost somewhat translucent blue and white as pictured. SIZE is approximately 3 and a half inches diameter across the top and they stand about one and a half inches high. CONDITION is very good- no chips or major irregularities, damage, etc. I really can't be sure whether these are 18th Century originals as they appear but they obviously look and feel old. I acquired them in China in the 1990s and had the impression then that they were relatively old antiques but I just cannot claim to be any kind of expert. THIS IS THE INFO I RECEIVED ON THE VASE. They are certainly indicative of Kangxi era marks and match marks dated between 1662-1722 The marks alone are not always reliable as it was common in China to imitate marks much older as a sign of respect for those artists. The general appearance and crazing on your piece certainly denotes age but it could date from any time between Kangxi up to Daoguang(1850) and it would still have that appearance. the condition looks very good and you have a fine piece there.

They have under glaze blue bands around their shoulders and are decorated with colorful enamel painted foo lions around the sides. They also have bats and flowers in a band around their shoulder and bottom. They date from the Kangxi period. circa 1662- 1722) and measure approximately 6 + 3/8 inches tall by 6 + 1/8 inches wide across their shoulder. The thick solid silver mount surrounding the porcelain is Siamese. Bearing the mark'925’ this mark denotes silver of 92.5% purity. This combination of ancient porcelain and antique silver is quite delightful. The dish is wonderfully decorated with floral design in cartouches with lotus flower in the centre. The porcelain is made from a very fine quality porcelain and marked to the bottom with lotus flower mark inside double rings. Silver handle is engraved and also marked. ToTs Presents: A very RARE pair of 17 th Century Kangxi period YELLOW glazed Parrots for incense or pastilles– Beautiful! We are very pleased to offer this exceptional RARE pair of 17 th Century famille jaune(yellow) Kangxi incense or pastille burners in the form of parrots seated on a rock. The richness and vibrancy of the colour as well as the delicate detail is difficult to capture even with a modern digital camera! These beautiful pieces were designed to be adored with the human eye– they really are much more pleasing in real life than in these photographs. The actual colour is slightly more yellow and richer than show in the photographs. As you can imagine. There was not much decent daylight today– I always try to take photographs in natural daylight but these had to be taken using artificial lighting. Observe how the head is'cocked' to one side– just as a parrot would do to give you that cheeky sideways glance! The beak is elegantly carved and wide open in order for the incense to waft outwards from the inside. I have been advised that“pearls of wisdom” were sometimes inserted when these were produced in the pottery. I can see that this explains why the beak is open in a wide and circular fashion. The feet are beautifully detailed giving the impression that the parrot is balanced while perching on the rock. Even the rock is cleverly shaped as it rises upwards towards the front end. Each rock has numerous pierced holes to let the incense emanate outwards. A piece of incense on a hot coal or a heated pastille would be placed under the base of the parrots so that the fragrance could waft out from the pierced holed& out of the beak. I can just imagine a plume of thick smoke emanating from either side of the beak while these parrots give you their cheeky
