Red, gold, green, pink and white, with the three faces of birds and some flowers mixed together by a lovley oriental design. There's a separate blue and white middle which also has flowers and abstract designs. The Japanese art designs surrounding the underside of the plate/bowl has a decoration design that we are not able to identify exactly. But the Imari mark appears to be pre-19th century. Keep in mind that we are not experts on Japanese Imari marks and decorations, but enough photo's were taken for you to clearly judge for yourself. The plates show some signs of usage around the gold lined rim. And some small imperfections on the underside base rim of both bowls, but the color on each remains vibrant, full and attractive. There are no chips or cracks on these Japanese porcelain pieces. And these little beauties measure in at 5 3/4" in diameter, and 1 1/4" inches high. Green, gold, blue, black and yellow. The bowl made for export in Arita Japan features floral and butterflies in 3 panels around the interior edge. A 3 clawed blue dragon is wrapped around the center in a circle motif. In very good used condition for its age. It does show some wear to the gold trim. There are some light scratches and a few pottery flaws but no chips cracks crazing or repairs There are pottery pinholes on the surface mainly which are not flaws. Antique Japanese Imari Porcelain 8.5" Bowl Plate Vintage
Vintage Porcelain Bowl I know essentially nothing about this item. Estate find. Measures 8-1/2” wide and weighs just over a pound. The shallow bowl or deep plate is unmarked. I know nothing about old porcelain of this sort. My best guess at origin is Japan. And my best guess at description is Imari. I could be wrong about one or both assessments. To me, this bowl seems to be quite old, but again– I could be wrong. Please help me out by closely reviewing the pics to best determine exactly what you are bidding on. You all know so much more about this item than I do. So the photos should hopefully help you determine age, origin and the related. If you have any questions that you think I can answer, just let me know. I apologize greatly for my ignorance. The bowl is in good condition with no major wear. There are several expected condition issues ... morethat are consistent with age. Storage, possible use and overall crudeness. There is an approximate 3/16” burn spot of sort(circular. Black in color) that is on a blue portion of the front decoration. I have no idea what this blemish is– my first thought was that it was maker related, but I can’t say for certain. There is a small approximate 1/8” indented square of sort to the white of the center that is under the glaze. So it is certainly maker related. A green leaf to a blue decoration area has an approximate 1/8” surface flake. There is a small discolored rough spot of similar length on the front edge. The bottom area of the outside edge has several spots that feel rough to the touch– nothing too terribly deep or anything like that. If you study these areas closely. It simply looks like rubbing wear that has caused loss to the surface. These areas are mostly on the same side as the“burn” mark. The bowl has crazing throughout. If you review the center of the bowl closely. You will notice several scratch marks, a few of which are kind deep. If you tilt the bowl back and forth under the light, you will find some other areas of scratching and scuffing, such as to most of

The photos leave nothing to the imagination, the vase stands 10 inches tall and each side has a tapper, 3 inches at the base rising up to 3 1/2 inches to the shoulder, the opening has 3 inch diameter. This dish with cover stands 2" tall and is 3 1/2" in diameter. I picked it up used in Japan in 1984. Which is the only information I have regarding its age. A Marine buddy said his wife had got it at the local PX/BX a few years earlier, and unlike today, the PX used to only carry the good"stuff" The small sticker on the bottom says Japan, plus a few Japanese characters. ANTIQUE 130 YR OLD MEIJI PINE PAGODA HAND PAINTED IMARI JAPANESE CERAMIC TEA CUP
From an estate sale in Japan. This is an antique Meiji era(c. 1880) hand thrown porcelain Japanese tea cup with a unique hand painted design of a scenic seaside pagoda scene. The gosu blue indicates that it could be as early as 1840. The gold highlighting was a final third firing as the rest of it was fired at a much lower heat. Its high temperature firings in a wood fired kiln gives it lasting strength and durability. When tapping the side of this cup it emits a high ring indicating that it was made from a refined clay and fired at length at a high temperature. This cup includes a design of a swallow on the inside(see pictures 6& 7) And its shape including dimpled sides was a much more difficult form to create, after it is thrown on a potter's wheel. Known as a melon shape. This style was common to the late Edo to early Meiji Eras(c. ... more1800- 1880) Having been in storage for over a century, this tea cup remains in excellent condition. France, England, China, and Japan. So stay tuned! Up for your consideration is the following: One(1) c 1813-1867 Antique Mason's Ironstone Bread Plate. Hand Painted in Imari Style This 6" bread plate is in a RARE variation of the polychrome oriental pattern- Instead of the commonly-seen bridges or the sailing vessels. In the center the pagoda is surrounded by blossoming flowers and curving leaves. Along the edge the orange and blue leaves curl through a background of dotted patterns. Its hand painted"Old Imari" style polychrome decoration is bright and vivid with overglaze iron red, cobalt, green and gilt highlights. With the ... moreexception of the underglaze cobalt blue which is smooth and shining, the overglaze multi-colors all have raised texture. The craftsmanship is truly exquisite throughout the entire plate. The plate is marked with the following THREE marks: 1) The underglaze black Mason's Ironstone marks. The shape of the crown. The space between the letters, and the lack of"England" all date the plate to as early as c 1813, and definitely no later than 1867. 2) The impressed mark"A10" and"2-09" 3) The overglaze red mark"h 3003 h" There is 1 tiny(1/16" flea bite on the rim at the backside of the plate. It does NOT affect the display since you cannot see the chip from the front(see photos) Other than that there is no chip or crack on the plate. The plate shows minimum wear. A very attractively hand decorated plate which I believe to be Japanese. It features a chrysanthemum and bird decoration around the border with a central blue and white design. The back has some blue lines encircling with a blue pattern around the outside border. The edge is slightly scalloped. The diameter is 8 3/4" In good condition with no chips or cracks. Due to recent gigantic postal increases by Royal Mail to destinations within the UK. Wonderful Antique Imari Dinner Sets- Marked DAMING CHENGHUA
The plates and the cups are beautifully hand-painted all throughout using blue. Red, and gold. Underneath they are marked with blue calligraphy: DAMING CHENGHUA. They are thin and carefully made. Notice that the border decoration close to the edge includes mountains, buildings, and clouds. this is somewhat unusual. The six-character seika mark is carefully drawn. All of them are in good condition with no fading, damage, chips, cracks, crazing, stains or repairs. The cup measures 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" 3.5 oz. Here is this Unique Vintage Japanese Imari Type Bowl with Handpainted Koi Fish. Shrimp& Gold. This is a nice size bowl that measures 9 1/4" inches diameter and3 7/8" inches tall. Condition is good to very good. Has a 1/8" chip on side of top rim and little scratches to inside surface. Also notice the bottom has rub scratches. Some gold fade.
