Well potted to a baluster form, with a tapering ovoid body, a trumpet neck, and a flared support, below a relief concentric band. The sides are painted by hand in underglaze cobalt blue, to depict foliate scrolls, two scroll cartouche, and a lotus pattern border around the support. The iron red overglaze depicts lotus flowers and scrolling tendrils, highlighted in gilt. Unmarked. This vase measures 19.6 cm in height and 8.4 cm in width. It weighs 473 grams. Beautiful Large 19th Century Porcelain Imari Fluted Vase - detailed & exquisite
This vase is an absolutely beautiful example of 19th century Japanese Imari porcelains. With deep ink blue underglaze and beautiful overglaze in rusts and gold in exquisite details of florals and leaves. The body is fluted in a really expertly executed form. The size without the stands are about 10" tall and approximately 6.5" wide at the body. And 4.5" wide at the top. The vase is in amazing condition with no chips or cracks. There is some rubbing to the gilt and enamels which is typical of this type of imari of this age but the enamels are actaully in quite good shape for the age. Please look at the photos. Here is a nice vintage or antique Japanese porcelain Imari bowl. It has a scalloped edge with handpainted designs done in coablt blue. Rust and green. There is some type of figure depticed on the inside of bowl. The outside has flowers and butterflies. It measures 6 1/2" across and 2 7/8" deep. Overall it looks to be in very good condition. I don't see any nicks, chips or cracks. It is not marked. If anyone might know more about this item, I would love to know more about it. The use of transfer print technology started in the early 1900's in Japan and this one dates early into that time period. Imari Ware 10" Vase Handcrafted Porcelain JAPAN floral / bamboo
This classic and elegant Imari Vase was made in Japan by Miyako. The beautiful traditional design on this"handcrafted porcelain" vase includes rust. Coral, green, blue, yellow, green and gold. The same classic scene is on each of the four sides of the vase. The small design that is repeated on each of the two sides of the vase's neck includes multi color flowers and two small buildings. This elegant white porcelain vase has a thin gold band around the rim- which complements the gold accents on the four side panels. The traditional shape transitions from the square shape of the body of the vase to the round shape of the neck and rim.

PAIR of c.1815-1820 DERBY POT POURRI PAW FOOTED URNS w/ LIDS in IMARI DECORATION
This is a beautiful and scarce Pair of c.1815-1820 Derby Pot Pourri Paw Footed Urns with Covers in Imari type decoration. The covered urns each stand approximately 5-1/2" tall to the top of the finial. The matched pair of Derby pot-pourri urns with covers each show the c.1815-1820 crown. Crossed batons and D mark in iron-red from the Robert Bloor& Co. period of Derby. Of squat waisted form. With a cone finial, the rims pierced, the rim of the bowl applied with four richly gilt masks, the bowl on four paw and leaf feet above a waisted square base with canted corners. The condition is great with o nly very minor wear to the gilt decoration and underside of the base(commensurate with age) Along with very minor, faint, crazing on the interior of one urn. There are NO repairs, NO restoration and NO replacements. As mentioned, the undersides ... moreshow the Derby mark. They also show a museum inventory cataloged number. This mid-Meiji era(1868)Japanese Daishoji- Imari barbed dish is hand painted in blue under glaze and green enameled and gilded to complete the complex design of tomato red reserves of chrysanthemum flower spikes alternating with reserves of feather tailed Phoenix-birds(the Empress' symbol called the Hoo-ee bird) floating above green Pawlonia leaves. Daishoji Imari items are scarce and highly collectible. Daishoji are rarely signed but this one is signed on the bottom in under-glaze blue with the double fuku(good luck) mark occasionally found on high quality porcelains originating in the Kaga-Kutani prefectures of Japan. In my opinion a large. Pair of very fine 19thc Japanese, Imair, geometric shaped huge urn vases and original lid covers. As is common for Imari these are unmarked to the under base as shown. The pair of items are in very good order. The lid of one has been broken ans repaired: this could be restored professionally with ease. Both vase bodies and the other lid are without any cracks. Or chips. Combined postage offered. Height is at 12 inches. Diameter is at 7.5 inches. Weight unpacked is just over 8.5 kg. This important Japanese“red-cornered” makie lacquer document box(sumiaka ryoshibako” dates to the Edo period. Ca. 1800. All sides of this large, covered, rectangular box are wrapped in coarse red cloth which had been covered in red lacquer. A high-domed cover and all side panels are decorated with gold lacquer mulberry leaf and falcon feather clan crests(kamon) in gold makie on a black lacquer ground. In ancient times, mulberry leaf paper was used to make offering receptacles or paper clothing offerings to place before the gods at Shinto ... moreshrines. The paper gohei strips still hung at shrines today are believed to represent the latter offering. Heian Era nobility used mulberry leaves to write poems, and the Grand Sumo Shrine adopted it as its emblem, with parishioners following suit to obtain its protection. The falcon was esteemed for its fierce, combative spirit not only by the warrior class, but also by the emperors themselves. Even in the Heian period, the court bureaucracy included an office of falconry. Several prestigious shrines, including Higo and Aso used the falcon feather as their emblem, and clans who later adopted it as their family crest benefited from this religious connotation. Japanese Imari Plate Hand Painted Gold Background Winged Horse Vintage 9 7/8"
Vintage/ Antique Japanese Imari Plate 9 7/8" Across. Stored for the last 10+ years from a Pittsburgh PA estate. I have absolutely no knowledge about the origin of the plate or it's date. It has no marker markings. The plate is in good condition. On the back side there are 2 shallow cracks which do not come through to the front. The finish is good with the exception of a wear or hard water line around the interior about 1 1/2" from the edge. I never even noticed it until giving the plate a good final check before listing. It is as if water was left in the plate for a long time at the same level. I worked on it a bit and a lot of the markings came right off but did not work on the gold sections. You can see some of it in the section with the dark blue. Some of design was painted under the glaze. Most of painted over the glaze. ... moreDesigns include a winged horse. Japanese man, house& gardens. The back is also decorated with a scroll, headress& an insect? An interesting old plate with lovely color.
