Up for your consideration is a vintage Premax Deep Trolling Reel and Ashaway Griffin Waterproof Deep Trolling Line combo. The reel is from the 1930's and is 4 1/2" in diameter and 1" wide. The black handle has a few dings in it. And the colorful Premax label is pretty scratched, but the reel appears to be in good condition otherwise. The box of Ashaway Griffin Deep Trolling Line is either from the 1940's or 1950's and it is in it's original box. The box has a black top and a slightly textured silver bottom. It is in reasonably good condition, but does have two crushed corners, which are shown in the pictures. The Ashaway Griffin labels are done in silver and red. Two of the knobs look to be later replacements because they are plastic and the tension adjuster on the vibrator is ebonite. I think they were once all ebonite. There are some faint letters scratched into the finish on the rear. However, they are very hard to see as the last photo shows. A beautiful large induction coil! I will take great pains to pack it so no weight is placed on the coil or the uprights. Postal History Good Civil War letter here written in 1862 by a farmer and soldier in the 86th New York Infantry- stationed at Camp Griffin in present day McLean. Virginia. Claw feet, acanthus carved arms, and skirt. The carved crests are also pretty impressive. To finish it out we also refinished it to near perfect condition and upholstered it in uncorrected leather and brass tacks.It is a marvelous piece that would look killer in an entry, hall or office. Rococo Griffin/North Wind Laminated Mahogany Rocker
This is a very ornate rocker with Northwind and Griffin or Lion head carvings in the back. The finish appears to be original and has numerous scratches and scuff marks as shown in the photos. This would be a wonderful piece to refinish and reupholster. The price I have listed certainly takes into account the condition. Pieces such as this are usually attributed to Charles Baudouine or John Belter. The rocker is 40” H. 21.5” D and 26” W. I would keep this piece but I’ve unfortunately ran out of room. Beautiful fireplace surround with gargoyles and griffins and framed with braided cord. I have never seen anything like it. I was going to use it in a fireplace or for a dog door but didn't. This rare and gorgeous piece measures 37 inches x 38 inches with an opening of 17 inches 22 inches.
