This is a Vintage Hand Painted Miniature Persian Painting on Bone with Khatam Inlaid Frame. The painting is of a shepherd tending to his sheep. Carrying two lambs and crossing a stone bridge. It is signed by the artist Asfahany. It measures approximately 3 1/2" x 2 1/4" The frame measures approximately 6 1/2" x 4 1/2" It has a wooden easel backing. The frame has some damage to the two upper corners as depicted in the photographs. But it does not distract from the beauty of this picture. It is in good condition. 1850's Ambrotype Photo of an elegant woman Foil Frame with Studio's ad on back
This is a real piece of history. An advertising piece for an Ambro Studio showing a beautifully taken photograph of an elegant woman in period dress. This is a nicely preserved Ambrotype photograph from the 1850's. The ambrotype process created a positive on a piece of glass utilizing collodium and silver nitrate and a black varnish background. It was then protected by another piece of glass on top. This is one of the tinted variety as there is color in her cheeks. The first picture in this listing was using a flash. The second was my inexpensive camera with no flash. Ambrotypes replaced the shiny daguerreotypes which most people did not like. The ambrotype was more matte and if back glass varnished gives a 3-D look. Tintype took over in the 1860's. It is a similar process to ambrotype but on metal instead of glass. Because of the ... moread on the back I would date this as early to mid 1850's. Frame is foil designed to look like a large framed portrait. Size is 2" wide by 2 1/2" high and 1/4" thick. RARE WWII Era American Optical Aviator Pilot Sunglasses Ful-Vue12K GF VG Frame
This is a pair of collectible 1940s Era Polarized American Optical Ful-Vue Aviator Pilot Sunglasses 12K GF V Good Shiny Frames with original glass green lens. They are fully marked on earpiece with American Optical name and Logo plus: 5 3/4 and 12K GF. Under the pearlized bakelite(Lucite) nose bridge is marked A/O Ful-Vue 1/10 12 K GF. The frames are in very good vintage condition. Probably as shiny as when purchased. They have a screw that does not match other on hinge. That is all I saw. The nosepieces and bakelite bridge are in very good condition. However. The old bonded reflective polarized material on the back of the glass lens has deteriorated and I could not get the remainder off. I even tried heat from the hairdryer. You might know how. The frames would make excellent sunglasses! I have not seen another early polarized pair of AO ... moresunglasses like these. Source below from the History of AO at American Optical History section: Sunglasses. Sunwear and Goggles As early as 1940. AO offered prescription-polarized sunglasses to the market. They were(and are) especially helpful on water and snow in the reduction of glare from the reflective surfaces. Huge Antique Wood Gilded Picture Frame 1890's Madison Ave NY Print 28 x 34 Oval
Approximate measurements are 28" wide x 34" long x 1 1/4" thick(beveled like. Goes in on thick part in middle) The oval center is approx. 22 1/2" across x 28 1/4" long. Print has a few areas of tiny dots on face. Minor and some light lines on the victorian shawl she is wearing. Signed copyright TCSPS on one side, and H. Stanley Todd on other side of the print. It is printed and not actual signature, print and frame are originally together, must have been a famous painting that was earlier. I googled the artist and he is famous. The frame really makes it. A light scratch that can be covered with Old English as well as some minor paintwear here and there, overall very good condition, both frame and print. This frame has raised wood flowers on each corner that really make it an outstanding piece.
