But don’t really know. Looks like it has some hand painted fraternal symbols such as the coffin. The hourglass, a sword, balance scales and Bible. It is a nice piece of folk art. It is embellished with fancy fringe and decorative elements. It measures 20” wide by 30 1/2” long with the top bar measuring 23 1/4” wide. The condition is very good. Used with some slight paint loss on the Bible and lower part of the hourglass. One ring at the top need to be re-sewn and one of the decorative balls at the end of the top horizontal bar is dented. i am putting this up as folk art. i am not sure of the age i am selling more of my collection of oddities and a have a large collection of voodoo and folk art dolls. this is one of my voodoo dolls and is made of wood. The carver who created this work was very well skilled in his or her craft. The artist might even be well known although this piece is unsigned. The carving depicts a gnome or dwarf supporting a candle holder. It must be heavy for he is straining to keep it up. Here's a beautiful vintage parlor guitar. There are no manufacturer's marks. So I am unsure of the make, model, or year. The back and sides are laminated. Not sure about the top. Dimensions are as follows: Total length- 36-1/2 inches Width of lower bout- 13-1/2 inches Width of upper bout- 9-1/2 inches Body length- 18 inches Body depth- 3-1/4 inches Scale length- 24-1/2 inches The guitar is currently strung with nylon strings and plays well. The nut and bridge have been shimmed. The low E is a little buzzy. So I would recommend shimming that side a bit more or(preferrably) making a new saddle. As displayed the sun changes from lighter to darker and the oval shapes grouped together are“harvest” and they are increased in number around the vase. I believe canoes are represented on the gourd also. Unfortunately, that is all I remember of the representations of the carvings. A unique piece that is in great condition. As shown in photos. Vintage Hand Carved Folk Art Wine Bottle Stopper * Animated * Man in Suit
This is a lovely and kitschy hand carved and animated Wooden wine bottle topper. It is a gentleman resplendent in his suit and tie. He appears to be giving a salute! If you pull the string at the back his arm comes out in a waving motion and his head nods forward. It measures 4" log by 2.5" wide. His face has great coloring with rosy nose and cheeks and his suit is painted on. He is carved in a primitive style. The cork could be easily replaced by removing the remaining piece. Sanding it a bit and then affixing a new cork. Or you could stick him into an empty bottle as he would still stay corked. I take great care packaging your items so they arrive as listed and intact to you. I use lots of tissue. Bubble wrap or packing peanuts as is needed.

Vtg Mexican Embroidered Huipil Soyaltepec Oaxacan Folk Art Ethnic Tunic Dress
This is a rare and beautiful vintage hand loomed. Hand embroidered, and hand sewn one-web huipil. The background muslin is 27-1/2" wide from selvage to selvage. According to my research. T his huipil is from the Mazatec region of Soyaltepec. Oaxaca. Mexico. I've seen only one other example with a very similar design in green and pink. The all-over embroidery includes flowers. Leaves, birds, dots and triangular shapes. It was embroidered on a single length of muslin with a circular pattern around the neckline. You can see the hand-drawn pattern lines in several places(see photos) As shown in the last two photos. The embroidery isn't a true satin stitch because it doesn't cover the back of the design, which was done to conserve thread. Label(s)Tag(s) None• Color(s) Red and natural muslin color. Fabric/Material Cotton embroidery ... moreon a sturdy. Medium-weight hand-loomed cotton muslin 27-1/2" from selvage to selvage. There are little slubs(thick places) here and there in the muslin fibers.
