CONN 8D (S) w/ detachable bell & flat case MINTY EASTLAKE 8D Double French Horn
C.G. Conn Connstellation 8D S(detachable screwbell) Eastlake. OH Manufactured in 1996 I received this horn for my 21st birthday as the principal horn for my university's orchestra. Wind ensemble, and brass ensemble. Unfortunately, by that point in my college career, I had decided to no longer pursue a career in music performance and I changed my major. Needless to say, this amazingly lovely horn got exactly ONE SEMESTER'S worth of playing under it's belt before I shelved it for good. I did pull the'ole gal out once in a while to oil her rotors and valves. But my playing days are well behind me now. She's a real beauty of a Conn 8D! A friend of my tutor's played for the New York City Opera(NYCO) at the time and he hand-selected this very horn for me after testing 6 or 7 other Conn 8Ds that were available in the same ... moreshop. This is an Eastlake, Ohio built model and it plays every bit as good, if not better, than many vintage Elkhart 8Ds that I've played in the past(including even my tutor's fully restored 1969 Elhart 8D) I always dreamed I would return to this horn, but 18 years later and with a family of my own it has become painfully evident that I don't have the time and I could certainly use the extra money. SOOO, with a touch of regret, I am putting my dream horn on the chopping block. I just had the horn inspected by a local technician and horn builder and he gave it a super squeaky bill of health. GREAT compression and insanely tight tolerances. The higher registers are very stable and even I can still hit the high C with no chops to my name. The lower register sounds amazing. Too! This horn has it's entire life in front of it. You are essentially looking at a demo model Conn 8DS. No dents or scratches. I'm being really nit-picky here and the only real signs of use are some minor discoloration on the finger keys and some lacquer wear around the holding points of the horn(see pics) I would rate the lacquer at 99% Other than that. Antique oak 1890s Eastlake design Pump Organ by Farrand& Votey Organ Company. 1887- 1898 It has stunning Eastlake-style ball and stick and carved decor. Turned solid oak spindles, heavy carvings on side and front panels. A really nice oak antique in its original finish. The organ is in two parts the top is separate from the organ. It can be removed to make moving easier. This amazing antique does work. This unit also has a keyboard cover! It also has a unique music holder that is hinged and which lifts up to hide music books. The organ is marked with an incised serial number"54369" on back left. I believe that dates the organ to 1898. Organ stands approx. 81" tall x 50" wide x 23" deep. The organ has some issues. For sale here is an excellent condition antique late 1800's tiger oak high end Eastlake lion foot dining room server. This server is very ornate and covered with original oak carvings and details. The material is glowing tiger oak. There are barley twist supports for the mirror shelf. Wonderful stepped levels in the drawers and original pressed brass hardware. Drawers open and close fine. Very elegant design perfect for a high end Victorian or Arts& Crafts dining room. Take a look at all of the pictures. It appears to be all original except it has been refinished at some time. Pair of antique wood newell post tops caps finials oak Eastlake
Pair of antique oak newell post caps in great useable condition. The top portion is solid oak covered with ornate oak details. These pieces are nailed to the block with small finish nails. Most of the detail work is in great condition with a few small cracks in the wood originating from the nails. Otherwise just normal wear and tear. A little bit of crackling in the varnish finish. One cap has a lighter finish than the other, looks like a wood stain was added later. There are a few small chips missing on the edges of the base but not very noticeable. The base measures 6 7/8" x 7" stands 5 3/16" tall.

Here is an absolutely spectacular 1870's Eastlake Victorian Ball and Stick Bentwood Footstool or Ottoman. It has a fantastic look and feel to it. And will look great on your victorian screen porch, or in the living or bedroom. I believe this was originally intended as screen porch furniture, and has that great weathered aligator finish. Measuring 14" high. And 17" square, it is in nice condition as you can see. The slats are in excellent condition and strong and safe for use. Late Victorian Oval Footstool with Wool and Silk Needlepoint; Eastlake Carving
This pretty. Late Victorian footstool has wool and silk needlepoint on the top in the design of a basket full of flowers. Roses twine up and over the handle. The wooden base of this oval footstool is mahogany with a dark stain and simple Eastlake carving. A brown, gimp-like trim is affixed with brown nailhead hardware(and probably glue) The footstool stands 7.5" tall. Is 11" across and 14.5" long. The colors of the needlepoint thread are muted but one can clearly identify carnations, roses and peonies with some shiny flecks of silk-accenting stitching. I suppose this could be a vintage piece of replacement needlework.but the design fits the oval stool so well. It would be a lucky match if it is not the same vintage as the rest of the stool. There is no damage to the needlework.and no holes or breaks to the support material. ... morePlease note photo of the bottom of the stool.there is jute strapping that is holding in the stuffing which appears to be straw and wood chips and possibly some sort of course animal hair(horse) There is a firmly glued former break in the circular wood of the base where one of the legs was attached. Two small nails and an old staple(along with the glue) keep it solidly attached. This is an old repair. The legs stand evenly with no wobble. Not a lot of people use footstools anymore(maybe we have grown too tall) But this is a very nice piece and decorative bits of history like this make for a nice accent piece. These can be fun to use if you are into vignettes.a small book and candlestick stacked on it. Next to a vase of blousy peonies or roses would add some zing to any entry table. Eastlake 5 Pc. Bedroom Set
This is an early example of Eastlake style furniture. The set with bed. 2 marble top nightstands, and his and hers marble top dressers has been in our family since the 1860s. It came to Texas from Alabama in the early 1880's. Unfortunately, there are no family members who wish to maintain it, so it is time to offer it to someone who will appreciate the history and architectural heritage and be willing to conserve it. The furniture is walnut with burled walnut accents. The bed was professionally lengthened some 50 years ago to accommodate a full size mattress but otherwise the set is completely original including the finish. We have the pieces that appear missing in the pictures(headboard top. Stile on 1 washstand) Some of the hardware is missing. There are also two gentleman's boxes that were custom made for the men's dresser ... moreover 100 years ago. As with any 150 year old furniture. Antique 1800"s- Gothic Eastlake Heavily Carved Plant/ Candle/ Lamp Pedestal Stand- Stand Measures a tall 38"1/2 Inches. I am not positive what wood this stand is made of. Looks like a mahogany to me but i am no authority on antique woods. Stand itself is in gorgeous condition, it sits flat and level and looks to stand perfectly straight, it does not wobble around and none of the joints creek though i think the only joints there are is the top plate and maybe the bottom tri pod. its a very dark mahogany in color, not to far from an ebony in color. the carving on this piece is fabulous, the is no damage, cracks or chips what so ever, maybe just the most trivial of tiny dings here and there but nothing that is noticeable. you would have to be way up close to see any blemishes and honestly there really arent any. stand has its original ... morebottom pegged feet aswell which you often dont see on pieces this old. top to bottom this stand is gorgeous and completely original, doesnt look to have ever been refinished though there is no reason for it anyways. shipping quote i have for this is just a guess,if it ends up costing more to ship i will cover the cost,if its any cheaper i will refund you the difference. 1881 German American Marriage License Framed In An Eastlake Picture Frame
This unusual marriage license is in the German Language on a marriage license document made in the U.S. by Johns& Co. Lithograph Cleveland Ohio. The document is marked"Copyrighted 1877 And Published By Lauer& Yost Cleveland Ohio" The marriage looks to be between Lydia Louise and Jacob Koussmaul and dated 1881. The marriage was in Rochester New York. New York makes sense as the frame is just beautiful and in the Eastlake design which was a furniture design originated in Eastlake New York. The frame measures 18 in. by 13 1/2 in. on the outside. It measures about 2 1/2 in. in width including the wood color and gold color part of the frame. The glass in the frame looks to be original as it has imperfections in the glass that would be typical of the time. The document measures 13 1/2 in by 9 1/2 in. The secretary below has a cylinder rolltop with butterflied burl veneer. Cubbyhole with two walnut shelves and porcelain knobs. Writing surface has black canvas. Long drawer below has brass original ring handles. Two doors below open to a compartment with a stationary shelf(stuck with contact paper.
