No tags, but our extensive research shows us that it is a Plycraft- an early model Plycraft when they were quite larger than the Herman Miller to avoid patent issues. Look up Plycraft vs Eames Herman Miller for more info. These do not have the base breakage problem of the HM 607. It is in good vintage condition. It needs 3 buttons replaced(2 on ottoman and one on chair) it has a few very small chips in the veneer wood edge- could be easily repaired, and general wear just from being so old-mostly on arms. Notice this one has the 5 legged atomic base on the chair- from the quality years. Swivels and rocks perfect. Adjustable feet to level chair. Made well. It has been in clean storage and was just cleaned with leather cleaner and wood was polished. Screws aren't as noticeable in person- the flash caught them. Pics don't really show how cool and nice it is. Super comfy too. It looks great as it is right now if you don't want to restore it. It's a money maker or a personal treasure. I hate to see it go! The very worn felt bottom has remnants of the gold Fornasetti marking. This particular hand design with the jewelry seems very hard to find. CONDITION: There are a few small nicks on the metal and a few light scratches on the hand design. Nice overall patina. The sliding wood box has some abrasions and a small nick. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HUGE MID CENTURY DANISH WALL LAMP LIGHT EAMES BRUTALIST
OK. I have to say there is no way the pictures can convey what a nice piece this is. This is a huge hand made Danish wall lamp from the 60s, it is two feet in diameter and comes out about six inches from the wall. It's a amazing piece that is hand thrown sculpted ceramic with perforated brass that encases the bulb. It's in excellent condition with no cracks or chips and has a beautiful orange glaze. It has a single bulb with a ceramic socket that should handle up to a 100 watt bulb. It hangs on the wall via two holes on the back with a piece of electrical cord(that can be easily changed) and it has a long electrical cord(around 15 feet) with a on/off switch on the cord. This is a really fantastic piece and absolutely beautiful when lit. It is signed on the back. CHARLES & RAY EAMES- RARE & UNIQUE 'LTR' Side Table
Up for Auction: CHARLES& RAY EAMES'LTR' Unknown& Unusual Size. Story: I acquired this piece from a woman who claimed that she had owned the piece for many years and acquired it from a gentleman who once worked for HERMAN MILLER. This pieces distinction is that it measures quite larger than the'LTR' or LOW TABLE ROD originally designed in 1950. The'LTR' as we know them to be measures: 15" W x 13" D x 10" H. In comparison. This version of the'LTR' measures: 19" W x 13" D x 15 1/4" This piece is made of the exact same materials as the original: WIRE ROD BASE/LAMINATE TOP/BIRCH MULTI-PLY CORE. The only difference I can tell( I'm not by any means an EAMES expert) is the size itself. I have shown it to several dealers and they both have said it matches the make of the original. ... moreAs to its provenance, it is speculative. It may be a rare prototype of sorts or perhaps a custom made to order version of the'LTR. I do not have any documentation of'certificate of authenticity' equivalent to prove its actual origin. What I do know is that it is still a beautiful fully functional and in excellent shape piece of mid-century modernism with an important attribution: CHARLES& RAY EAMES. Condition: The BLACK laminate top is overall excellent condition. There are minor surface marks throughout. But overall it maintains its sheen and smoothness. The Ply Birch core is also in excellent condition. There are only a few minor dings. The Wire Rod base is also very structurally sound with no breaks or welds. The base shows signs of pitting that is consistent with a vintage'LTR. There are no markings to the underside or any sign of remnants from a label. Made in Canada. 12 short brass spokes with hardwood ball ends, 12 hardwood tapered spike spokes and 24 brass spokes with brass ball ends. It measures a huge 22 inches from tip-to-tip, 6.25 inches across the face. Very nice vintage condition. All of the hardwood is in better-than-new condition with a hand-rubbed Espresso Danish Oil finish to show off the grain. All of the brass is straight, shiny and bright with just a touch of patina.
