This is a great old classic bean cooking crock by Marcrest in the Daisy Dot pattern. It's Ovenproof stoneware and would be great to cook a pot of boston baked beans in. During the cooler days to come this fall. It's glazed in a rich glossy brown glaze. Marked on the bottom, it says MarCrest Oven Proof Stoneware U.S.A. Additional information: I was just told today. By someone involved with the Marcrest company in a friendly email that this is not the original lid that came with the pot. It fits, but does not have the daisy dot pattern, so it is not authentic to this pot, which was made mid 1950 to 1960's. That's the way I bought it at an estate sale, and it will work, but it's not the original lid. Thanks to the helpful person who set me straight on this nice big pot. MIALI POTTERY El Monte California Small Crock Blue Band 3" Tall- Since 1906. This is a nice crock and it measures almost 3" Tall and 5" across. The edge is wavy in one spot and that is how it was made see last photo. Color of my photo is just a tad more yellow. The item is a bit lighter in color. Kind of a off cream. It has some crazing and that is normal for pottery this old. I am guessing this is around 1920's era. No chips or damage just the crazing. It stands 7" high with the lid on and measures 4" across. It is cylinder style. The bottom is marked with a number and embossed"ITALY" It does have some fine hairline cracks as shown on the interior photos but the integrity is still fine. They are very faint on a small portion of the exterior. But really cannot be seen without zooming in on the pictures. The two photos with my finger in them indicate where they are located but they can barely be detected with the naked eye. Wm P. Hartly's Stoneware Drip Crock(The true color of this piece is the color in pictures 1.2& 3. I used different lighting in the last 3 pictures and it is not accurate. This circa 1900 stoneware crock was used to hold many thing. Especially grease drippings. This piece is stamped on the bottom"Not Geniune Unless BEARING Wm P Harley's LABEL" Below this is a marking that looks like a M with a backward F on the left side and a regular F on the right. This piece is in good condition with the usual amount of wear. There is a very tiny chip or pit on the top edge. There are a few tiny chips on the bottom rim that cannot be seen until you turn it over. There is minor discoloration in a few places. There are blobs on the surface of the piece(can be seen in 2nd and 3rd picture) that I don't consider damage since they were ... morepart of the original piece. Up for bids is a 5 gallon Red Wing Union Stoneware Company shoulder jug with rubber stopper. The printing has the big blue"5" The small red wing, and says"Red Wing Union Stoneware Co.Red Wing, Minn. in blue. This jug would have been made in the early 1900's. Likely between 1906 and 1936. It is in fantastic condition with no cracks or chips that I can see. The only exception is a small clay crack under the handle that looks like a manufacturing defect(does not affect use of the handle at all) The bottom has some sort of staining. Fabulous Vintage Folk Art Pottery Memory Stoneware Crock Lots of Antique Pieces I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and shop with another ebayer seller from out of town recently- a real catfish moment. Because we’ve talked for years, but never met! No surprises, just all fun and did we shop until we dropped! I have lots of very cool items for you that I will be listing all week. Enjoy! Some items you JUST don't have enough photo space for- as is the case with this one. I can only post 24 photos. And I could have taken twice as many- just to show you how fabulous this piece is. It's a vintage stoneware piece marked on the bottom as being made by Ransburg pottery- identifying it as a 20th century piece. Ransburg started making stoneware cookie jars and canisters during the depression, and into the 40sl, so the jar is vintage, not ... moreantique. The folk art work is vintage- not new, though, and the jar is PACKED with many items dating from the Depression era and before- with lots of antique pottery pieces used, and some later pieces(like retro jewelry and buttons) too. That's not all you see, though- there's doll heads, buttons, jewelry, seashells, coins, marbles- you'll lookandlookandlook at this one for a loooong time! It measures 9" tall, 8 1/2" at its widest, and weighs an amazing 8 1/2 lbs! Interestingly enough, all of the Ransburg pieces that I have seen have always had a bright glaze- peeking at the pottery, I see no indication of this jar ever being glazed(at least not with a color that I can see) It would have had a lid originally, and this one does not- it's open mouthed. Supersize and looklooklook at all of the fun of this one! The jar is in excellent condition- with no damage that I can find. There's a handful of teenie nibbles and valleys on the underside bottom at the rim(see photo 23) but you only see them on the bottom when turned over- and they very well could be original to the piece.
