Top done in high end wax and top was totally stripped to bare wood and stained in a deep chestnut and sealed with 7 coats of clear gloss that WILL NOT yellow over time. 2 drawers open and close smoothly. Bottom shelf is done in all gold with 2 coats of sealant but not recommended for hot liquids. All hand done by me over a 5 day period. Very labor intensive piece. It measures 23-3/4 inches from the top of the barrel to the bottom of the bell. I do not know if it is HP or LP- no markings were found. No wood cracks were observed on the barrel. Bell or SINGLE ONE PIECE BODY. The Buffet logo is found on ALL 3 wood sections. The serial number has been scratched off in part but the date MAYBE( 1905- difficult to distinguish. It needs pads. I got this GE Tabletop Stove with a group of household items from a recent estate. It looks to be in very good condition with no damage or signs of abuse. I have an infrared temperature gun. So I plugged the stove in and tested it. The'low' setting is like'simmer' on a regular stove, 120-140 degrees. Above low, a difference in burner temperatures starts to show up, on medium, the large burner is 300-350 degrees, while the small burner is hotter at 490-540 and on high, the large burner is 480-550 while the small burner is 680- 780. I believe both burners have the same 1550 watt heating elements, but because of its larger size, the large burner dissipates more heat and runs a bit cooler. So if you have something you want to use a bit gentler heat with, the large burner is the one to use. Overall a pretty nice tabletop stove ... morein good condition! 1 China cabinet- 2 pieces item numbers 8388 and 8390. Andover#48 finish. Hard Rock Maple. The base is 52" W by 19" D by 33" H. Total height is 71" 5 Dovetailed center guided drawers. Excellent condition. Structurally and cosmetically. Table has formica top and is 58 1/2" long by 41 1/2" wide with no leaves. Table has 3 leaves that are each 11 1/2" wide. There are six chairs that are slightly worn with use. One chair has a slight crack in the seat and another chair has a slight crack in one of the upright spindles on the back of the chair. This listing includes the pictured Evette& Schaeffer by Buffet saxophone in its original case with neck. Mouthpiece with ligature and cover, two different straps, and a neck inlet reducing coupler. Let me start off by saying that I am not an expert on these instruments, so please do your own research on this sax before purchasing. This sax looks to be a 60's to 70's tenor model based on its size by comparison to others like it. Everything looks to be original with no apparent repairs. There is a lot of tarnish and discoloration on the metal along with some minor blemishes, but this sax is otherwise in very good vintage condition and does not have any obvious dents that I could find. All of the levers are operational, but need lube and/or maintenance. Buffet Pre-R13 Bb Clarinet.....Overhauled and ready to gig on!
Buffet Pre-R13 Bb Professional Clarinet Thanks all for viewing! For" buy it now" is a very nice condition. Completely re-padded/overhauled Buffet Crampon Pre-R13. Body and wood are in beautiful condition with only a small imperfection in the upper joint tenon( see photo's) Absolutely no cracks in the wood components inside or out. Keys and bright work are nice without excessive wear. What was done- All keys were removed. Silver dipped, cleaned and polished. All new double bladder pads save for(2) cork pads installed in strategic areas, felts/articulation corks and tenon corks installed. I used Teflon on certain higher friction articulation area's to quicken the action. Mechanism oiled with synthetic key oil. All rods, pivot screws degreased and cleaned. Each pad was checked with a feeler gauge and instrument vacuum checked ... moreinsuring no leaks! I set this Buffet up with light key action, so it's quick! How's it play- Man is she loud. At least with my 5rv Lyre! Almost as loud as the Conn triple 4's I've sold in the past. Although I'm no clarinetist. When I test play I try to play some difficult jazz passages- Usually something from'Trane. This Buffet can keep up. With a Vandoren B45 it mellows/darkens the tone some, but stifles the horn in my opinion. Played best with a worked New York Meyer piece, as it was spot on focused and fluctuated nicely with all my timbre challenges I brought forth. It's absolutely the best playing Pre-R13 I've had come across my bench. To the point I was planning on keeping it as it's been in my shop for over 10 years and I knew it was something special before I worked on it. It's not a flute however so it does me no good; as we all know the flute is the best instrument known to mankind! yep, maybe? If you don't believe that to be true, you may ask me! It has one ring up near the beak and three rings farther down with the Buffet logo appearing below the three rings(between them and the cork) I did a little research on this piece and found an identicle one on the ClarinetPerfection.com website. It was the earliest one listed and was estimated to be from the 1930's. Which jives with what I was told by the guy I bought it from regarding when his Dad, the prior owner, was active in playing. Unfortunately the website didn't have much more info. From what I gather though, it is likely a blank made by the venerable Chedeville company. ... moreEven today these blanks are highly prized for customization by top players due to the quality of the hard rubber compound from which they were manufactured. This one seems to play very well as is, but I am by no means an accomplished clarinetist, so I might not be the best to judge. It is in very good condition with a smooth tip, table, and rails. There are no tooth indentations on the beak. There is markings on the table suggesting hand finishing, but I suspect those are indicative of original hand finishing at the factory rather than re-facing. The cork is in good shape. The logo is worn, but when you see it in person you can tell what it is. There is another logo near the top that is harder to see, but based on the Clarinet Perfection information I have surmised that it said"Evettine" I did also just notice that on the butt end of the shank it is stamped"C-2" very small. Buffet Eflat R13 clarinet
This is a great Eflat clarinet. I selected it at the old Libertyville warehouse out of a dozen other instruments. It is a beautiful piece of wood which yields an equally beautiful tone. Pads and corks are good. No cracks in the wood. I only played it a couple weeks every season, so it has a lot of life left in it. Very good intonation. In fact I could play it in tune easier than my Bflat clarinets. Make sure you use a mouthpiece that tunes high enough. Many players use mouthpieces that are flat. And they therefore use fingerings in the upper register that are unnecessarily weird and difficult. I was principal clarinetist of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra for 35 years. Which indicates the year of manufacture to be 1967, during the Buffet‘Golden Era’ This model, developed by Robert Carrée in 1955, was the top of the line professional clarinets offered by Buffet Crampon. The main reason why the‘Golden era’ Buffet clarinets are coveted and sought after by the players is the quality of the grenadilla wood these instruments were made of: the wood was allowed to air dry for 20 years or more to ensure that the clarinet won’t crack and was of the finest grade, very hard, dense and naturally dark. Vintage Buffet Clarinet Beautiful Overhaul, Master Pads, Corks, Springs, Etc.
This vintage Buffet clarinet. Serial number 2419, is brighter and lighter than my Festival and I prefer the feel of its thinner key rings. I've had this clarinet for a long time. Late in 2012 I decided it was worth having refurbished. It had worn tenons on the upper joint, needed new springs, corks, pads, oil bath- the works. I sent it out, along with the Festival, for a complete overhaul, which included replacing the upper joint tenons. Now it plays like a dream and this overhaul will last for years and years. It cost me $400 and was well worth it. I haven't played it much at all since getting it back. So it's as it was immediately after being restored. The original case is in excellent shape with less than normal edge scuffs for a case this old and the latch springs work as new. The only issue cosmetically with this clarinet ... moreare some chips near tenon joints(see the pictures) There are no cracks in the wood anywhere and it's made from the wonderful grenadilla wood that was still available back when it was made- very tight grained. I removed the Eb/B key on the upper joint. Which I never use and plug the tone hole with cork. PLEASE LOOK AT THE LAST PICTURE. It's an easy matter to pull the cork out and put the key back on. I will either ship as is, with the key in the case, or put the key back on before shipping if requested. No returns. So please ask questions and look at the pictures. I've tried to be thorough. This piece has faired time well and is in exceptional condition considering its age and was used as functional furniture. It looks to me that it says"Overalt" but I can't find any record of this or any company with a similar name. Ok. So what do we have here? This is a hard rubber tenor sax mouthpiece made I'm guessing in the late 1920's because of the metal ring at the bottom. Aside from a few dings- and who or what that's nearly 90 years old doesn't have a few? Overall, I'd say this mouthpiece is in very nice condition, and appears to have a big chamber. The first picture shows all the jars included in this listing followed by pictures of the jars with the covers on and the covers removed. These jars range in height(with the covers on) from approximately 6 1/2" tall to 9 3/4" tall. They range in width(at the widest part) from 3" wide to 4 3/4" wide. The top openings range in size from 2 1/8" wide to 3 1/2" wide. I don't know how old these jars are; they were purchased at Estate Sales. Church Sales, Flea Markets, etc. They do look like they could be vintage. Two jars are the"stackable" type: one of them is actually 2 jars that are stacked one on top of the other with the cover on the top and the other ... moreis actually 3 jars that are stacked one on top of the other with the cover on the top. These jars do show signs of use such as minor scratches& scuffs but overall. They look nice; they look pretty clean but could probably use some more cleaning. 1921 Dinning room table, Chairs, and matching Buffet
Make no mistake this set needs attention. I paid $2400 almost 20 years ago. The table is needs attention, the chairs need repair and new fabric. I will adjust price to fit these needs.
