Rare 19/7 full Boehm system with low Eb and articulating left hand Ab/Eb. Grenadilla wood body sections bell and barrel. All are original and free of cracks with the exception of a crack in the lower section between the C# and Bb key. Crack does extend beyond metal inside tenon collar. Very nice wood. Keys all move freely. Rings are tight. Serial numbers on sections match. Serial number 21034. Case is original and in fair condition. Instrument is being sold as is. Up for bid this week I have a BUFFET CRAMPON Grenadilla Wood Soprano Clarinet. Marked E11…comes with a brown vinyl[ coated custom moulded-interior carrying case lined with a red‘velvety’ fabric. The case measures 9 X 13 ½ X 4 inches. The case does have some wear in areas like the bottom corners and underside. It has four metal peg feet on the bottom. The hinge’s flap is not screwed into the bottom half and should be repaired[see photo] The case does NOT include a key[don’t worry, it can’t lock without one] There are no cracks in the wood of the clarinet. I do not know much more about it, such as the type of soprano clarinet it is, i.e. which key it is set in[probably a B flat] Also I don’t know what‘skill level’ this clarinet was designed for or how well it plays. I am not sure if it is nickel-plated or silver-plated. Comes with one ... moreunmarked metal ligature and a spare plastic mouthpiece[used] The mouthpiece is marked“Buffet Crampon& Cie A Paris” Serial number is 836136, marked on two of the large upper and lower joints. Sections fit together very tightly; a little cork grease is needed to make assembly easier. Most of the pads look good, maybe discolored or a little chip here or there, but keep in mind I can’t definitively say what kind of operating condition they are in; they may need attention. I do not see any rust to the metal parts, just some light tarnishing to unexposed areas. Overall, it seems pretty clean! Measures 26 ¼ inches long. This auction is for a vintage wooden Buffet Crampon clarinet. It bears serial number 202 which I suspect dates it to made in 1928(see pics) I'm getting my info from a website that lists the Buffet's serial number to manufacture date. It seems to be in nice condition with no cracks but it does look like the cork is worn and might need replacing. There is no mouthpiece with the instrument. It comes with the carrying case which is in decent condition. But one of the carrying strap ends is broken where it attaches to the case. I'm not a musician so the clarinet has not been tested and will be sold as-is with no returns. The first label was branded into the wood and can often be found inside the drawers of the Berkey Gay case pieces. Around the year 1900 the branded type label was replaced by a paper label. The brass label was used starting around the 1920's until Berkey and Gay went out of business in the 1940's. Buffet Crampon R13 Bb Clarinet made in the mid 1960's, "The Golden Era"
This clarinet is an exceptionally sweet sounding clarinet with great projection. It's made out of Grenadilla wood(African Black wood) or ebony and has nickel silver plated keys. I do not know exactly how old the pads are but they look in good shape. The action and intonation is excellent. A great clarinet for the serious professional orchestra player. Antique Hand Crocheted and Embroidered Altar Cloth/Buffet Handmade in Germany
This is absolutely one of the most beautiful pieces of antique hand crocheted and hand embroider on an item I have ever seen. I had the age verified by two very reputable friends that deal in antiques. They both estimated this piece at least 100 years old. Which what the lady at the sale told me. This item was handmade in Germany and was acquired at an estate sale of a wonderland German lady who had all information about what it is. It was originally used as an altar cloth. Many families stayed at home and had altars where they prayed and said the rosary daily and from what I understand, this was used for that purpose. As you can see by the pictures, the workmanship is superb and the lace is in excellent condition with no wholes or snags. A cotton yarn was used. The embroidery was done on linen and one strip has red flowers with what looks ... morelike a grey leafy pattern. The top border is of red grapes and brown vines. There is a paisley style pattern in one of the lace panels and floral in the other. The lace border that hangs is of a triangular style. The linen strips measure- floral is 3 1/4" wide and the grapes-3 1/2" wide. There is 6" of lace between the strips and the lace trim is 3 inches wide. The whole cloth measures 72" X 36" Can be used as a buffet cover, piano cover or just a beautiful wall hanging. No discoloration on the entire piece, no age spots. But as in this old of piece or any of it's type, there is imperfection. There a very few wholes in the embroidered part of the linen. I did take close ups of the flaws, they are the only ones I can see after carefully examining the piece. This piece was stored very well. This is exquisite and please only for serious bidders. It has the number R8951 on it. But I am not sure if this is the serial number or a model number. This has only had one owner since the early 1950s. It has been in storage for a while and needs a tune up. All the pads are present and it is functional. It has surface scratches and wear to the finish you would expect in a used instrument. It has two small dimples/dents at the bottom. Included with this saxophone are the following accessories: Buffet Crampon& Co. wood mouthpiece and cover Paris. There is considerable brass wear. But as far as dings/dents go.there are very few! I looked this over and did not see any large dings or dents.just a few very small ones. The pads feel soft, but should probably be replaced as this has not been played in a while. There is a fiber filling stuffed into the sax(I'm assuming for protection during storage) The case, original Buffet Crampon mouthpiece cover, and Ray Hyman strap are also included.
